Ubuntu Installation :: How To Install Hebrew Interface Firefox
Sep 18, 2010
I'm working with Ubuntu for several months now, mainly for programming (so I'm pretty newbie), and I really liked it, so I deiced to install it on my old parents PC, so everytime I come home to visit them I won't have to install the entire OS all over again (somehow they manage to kill windows in few month ).so for my problem I download the last Hebrew Firefox from Mozilla Israel site firefox-3.6.10.tar.bz2.how do I install it ?
I've installed Ubuntu 10.04 and is seems great! now I would like to know what do I have to do in order to enable it to write Hebrew? is there any guide that explains how to install other languages as well?
I installed texLive2009 from the repository, with extra-fonts, arabic and Hebrew package, xetex and culmus. When I try to run latex (or pdflatex or xetex) I get an error message about missing Hebrew fonts jerus10 and deads10.
I'm on Mageia Linux Cauldron (what will become Mageia 2), where Mageia Linux is a recent community fork of Mandriva Linux. this script gives me the Xkb layout that I need:
downloaded the latest firefox and put it in /opt, it runs ok but the interface is missing icons, like the back and forward buttons, refresh, the x on the tabs, the + for a new tab, and others. iceweasel is fine. anyone seen this or know where or how to fix it?
In Windows, I was able to use IE as a user interface because I could code a WSF (Windows equivalent to shell script) to respond to events in IE.Now that I've moved to Linux/Firefox, I'd like to use Firefox in a similar way. Specifically, I would like to write a bash script to run lsdvd with XML output, use XSL to transform the XML for Firefox, then take an action (encode a selected track on the DVD) based on the user's selection. I would be happy if I could make Firefox write something somewhere that the script could read, but I suspect that security measures would prevent that.
The Mozilla downloads from here do not include a 64 bit Linux version. The only repo I have found is this one: [URL]I don't want to use that repo because the daily builds quite often break Firefox and then I'm screwed until it is fixed. I'm looking for a 64 bit build of the latest Firefox 4.0 beta (currently 11) for Ubuntu.
I am very new to this and am trying to install from firefox when i cannot find the software i want in package manager. everytime it does not let me no matter what it is. latest is ubuntu tweak for example says :tmp/ubuntu-tweak_0.5.6-1_all-4.deb could not be opened, because an unknown error occurred.Try saving to disk first and then opening the file.when i do save it to disk and open it tells me to select software to
I know this sounds a bit very basic but how do I install flashplayer on firefox , my issue is when I go to [URL] i get the following message "Hello, either you have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player." so I follow the link it downloads flash player and even install it but nothing seems to work in ..... or flash site .
I would like to start using Firefox 4.X beta and I read it was possible to install extensions such as Ad Block and No Script . What I would like is step by step instructions on how to add these currently non compatible extensions.
I just downloaded the Mozilla Firefox Beta 4 package which if of the extension .tar.bz2. I currently have Mozill Firefox 3.6 installed on my laptop. Can anyone guide me how to install Mozilla Firefox Beta 4?
After install I tried to add firefox but it wasn't found in any of the repositories. I thought it was supposed to be in there. Thunderbird also wasn't. What repositories do you guys add after install?
I installed FC11 from installation cds twice and I'm having a problem with Firefox freezing the system. The mouse cursor will move but nothing else is responsive, including mouse buttons and keyboard.I checked the media on every disc and they all check fine.I never had this problem with FC10. I tried upgrading Firefox -- with the necessary dependency upgrades too but without success.I tried to downgrade to FC10 Firefox and ran into a great big hassle with that.
After a hiatus, I'm fussing with Fedora again. I'm using the 64 bit version of R13. A screen popped up saying I needed to apply fixes to the installion. The maintenance process fails, when tried several times.
FWIW, I get an analogous error associated with packages trying to install Flash into FireFox.
Is it possible that the package archive has been corrupted?
Recently I have installed Fedora 10. It comes with firefox 3.xx by default. Now I was wondering if there is any way through which i can update it to 3.5 version though yum. I have tried yum update firefox but it did not work and returns following messages Loaded plugins: refresh-packagekit Setting up Update Process No Packages marked for Update I know that one way to update is download the latest Tar package and use it, but I want to totally remove my previous installation and use solely one package i.e. firefox 3.5.

I have 3 layouts: USA, Russian and Hebrew. In Hebrew the W key is mapped to apostrophe, so Ctrl+W in Hebrew layout doesn't close tabs in Firefox. There is no workaround for it as I see by now, so I am trying to get it work this way:I want to map Ctrl+W in Hebrew layout(which is actually a Ctrl+') to be a Ctrl+w. Here is what I got from xmodmap:Code:$ xmodmap -pke | grep 25keycode 25 = w W Cyrillic_tse Cyrillic_TSE apostrophe WAs you can see, there are pairs for each layout, each pair tells what happens without and with the Shift key pressed.
I just had an ATT Uverse RG installed. However my Smoothwall router that previously worked fine with the ADSL SpeedStream is no longer accepting an address assignment DHCP ip address from this new gateway. (3800HGV-B)Any thoughts ideas or experience working with this hardware? ATT only supports Windows and Mac

Unity is too slow and buggy for me right now and I really really loved the old netbook remix interface (I wish they would make that one the default instead of Unity).Anyways, I read somewhere that I can still install it in maverick with a simple package install but I've looked everywhere for it and couldn't find the exact package.
I want to install ubuntu server on an old pc and use it in my home office. However, I'll have to borrow a monitor to do the instillation... when I'm done I'll have to return it. Is there a way to monitor/manage the sever by using my web browser, free of cost?
Also seeing that I'm not so savvy with commands should I install the desktop interface?
