What is the install code for one another browser? either ie (for linux), opeara, or netscape? I want to run this. I'm using fedora 14. And I have installed apache, PHP and MySQL. I tried testing PHP with phpinfo(). But when I view it view my browser (localhost/test.php) it just shows the code itself instead of displaying the phpinfo page. This is the content of my test.php page.

I'm new to linux and I'm using ubuntu 10.10 since it relished. I've download utorrent-server-3.0-25053.tar.gz. I configured intltool-0.41.1.tar.gz and libgraph-1.0.1.tar.gz using that very command installed them successfully.

The issue now is that the nVidia installer from their website wants the source code to build the right packages for this machine, however, I do not have the src directory with the source code that it is looking for. Is there some way to give this too it now?

I have recently acquired a micro-sized-PC (A Dell FX130) which comes with a VIA C7 processor, 1GB RAM and 1GB onboard flash. The only application I need is a web-browser, I will use the FX130 to access a (very limited) number of web applications and to download/print-html-to-PDF - putting files onto a USB thumb-drive. I want to encrypt the disk to guard against tampering, and to run a restrictive firewall.
When I try to install the i386 debian-7.7.0 image - I run into the snag that it won't let me use guided configuration for the 1GB flash drive... and - when I guess at a sensible partitioning... I find that I run out of space during the standard installs. I note, however, that a whole bunch of significant applications (which I don't need) are being installed.
I am sure I'm missing something - is there an easy way to do a "minimal" GUI install that would make it easy to fit (just) a web browser (Chrome - ideally) and dependencies onto a 1GB bootable flash drive in a 'Debian-standard' fashion?

It is extremely hard to get the latest builds. I don't even know what I had to wrestle through to get to 4.0.1, which is what I am on now. Tell me the super easy way. Mozilla is awful. Also, how can I get the new beta and aurora channel switcher? I believe I can only get it if I update to a newer version which is what I am trying to do now. It says to go to about and then click "change" which is not there. So Linux really shouldn't be this complicated and frustrating.

I am trying to install the tightVNC on my imac.It expects X install; I see that X11 in my utility. I think it is ok, but the instruction states to install it on /usr/bin/. Which is correct?Then I need to have ~JPEG and ~zlib to place in /usr/bin/ or inside of certain folders to use.To make sure it is ok; I put both of them in both of the indicated places. View 3 Replies View Relatedi just updated from karmic 9.10 to lucid 10.04 using the online upgrade option. so far everything is working great. the only issues i am having seem to involve firefox. when i visit videos i get the message "your browser is no longer supported. please upgrade to a modern browser." i am running 3.6 "canonical" so it is "modern". i am able to watch videos after i close the message. it's just an annoyance to get this message every time i view a video.
next, is on some websites (like this one) it will not supply my login info. but on a few sites (like ebay) it does supply my login info. not sure why some sites work while others don't. the info is there when i look under my saved passwords....
I installed Zim via Synaptic. Initially everything was fine. However, for some reason, it no longer works.
I've tried reinstalling it via Synaptic, but it still doesn't work.
The next thing I'd try is to compile it from source on my system. Trouble is, I don't know how to go about it!
