Ubuntu Installation :: Transmission To Import / Export Torrents
Feb 28, 2010
I run two machines and both are running Transmission to download/upload torrents. I am selling one of them but not all the torrents will have the time to finish downloading before the buyer picks up the machine. How can I transfer my partially downloaded torrents from one machine to the other? I have an external drive but I don't know how to do this.
I recently started using Transmission torrent client. I love it! The light weight and web interface feature is compelling. I am not able to figure out how to queue torrents.
I usually add torrents to transmission through my iPhone. I have Transmission watch the 'Attachments' folder in my Dropbox. I also have Transmission auto add the torrent and delete the torrent file when done. Thing is if I don't have Transmission running when I add the torrent to my dropbox folder. Transmission doesn't start up to download the torrent. Is there a script that can watch for torrent files in my Dropbox folder that I can run in Scheduled Tasks to run every 5 min or so. Also when I have it up and running and I do have auto add on. It auto adds it to transmission but then the popup dialog appears to ask if I just want to download one of the files from the torrent or all 10. Is there a way to bypass this?
How to open port for transmission or deluge to use torrents, 'cause any of both programs can download any torrent. I've searched on the internet and only find about open ports on hardware router, and that's weird 'cause Deluge on windows works perfect just after installing it and there's no need to open any port on hardware router.
I have Ubuntu and Win 7 on my desktop machine. I use utorrent and deluge for torrent clients because i upload on lot of trackers. I want to import the settings and paths for the torrent to some linux client. I have 700+ torrent now and it would be real pain to add them one by one in linux. Is there any way to do that?
Transmission has started giving me errors when I download a new torrent file. It has stopped being able to create the new file (ie touch) to begin the download. Error: Permission denied (/path/to/specific/file/in/new.torrent) Old torrents are still running to the same drive location. No permissions have changed.
how I'd go about copying all my FTP and Directory bookmarks from my main PC to my laptop?I'm assuming it's just as simple as copying a file list from somewhere, as root (Alt F2) but not sure where to look.
I wanted to know if it's posible to import filesystem quotas. And if so, how can I do it? I recently migrated a server, and presently the users don't have any quota limitations.
how to model using blender(2.48) on fedora 9, and I'm having one small problem. I have been modeling on Tremulous on and off, but I have been having a recurring problem with vert counts that I have decided to address. I had planned to add plugin scripts to blender that will let me import/export md3 files. I was able to download the plugins in a zip file and I know where the blender scripts are located, but this is where I'm having problems. When I try to move the extracted plugins into the folder, I get a warning about me not having permission. I know I can get around the problem by using my root login command. What I don't know the command I need to use to move the plugins where they need to go.
I am curious if yum can be used to export a list of packages from machine 'A' then I can take it to machine 'B' and import/install the list so my machines all have the same software.
For the last few releases, I've remained with Amarok 1.4, but now that I've deemed Amarok 2 stable enough, I've upgrade, however, the lyrics to my songs (which I put in a lot of effort in downloading), are not reflecting. Is there anyway to export lyrics from Amarok 1.4 and import them in Amarok 2?
I can only access the Transmission web interface while the Transmission-gtk client is running. When I close it, the web interface is no longer available. I try to manually start the transmission-daemon, but the process never shows up as running.
I have a playlist of 634 tracks that I export to a file. I then try to import that same file and only 627 tracks get imported into the created playlist. The 7 tracks that are missing are:
#EXTINF:125,Elvis Presley - Don't Be Cruel ../../../../media/LinuxHD/Music/Elvis Presley/Elv1s 30 #1 Hits/02. Don't Be Cruel.mp3 #EXTINF:189,Elvis Presley - Are You Lonesome Tonight? ../../../../media/LinuxHD/Music/Elvis Presley/Elv1s 30 #1 Hits/16. Are You Lonesome Tonight_.mp3
UPDATE: Actually it's version 2.04 not 2.0, guess the site i followed was a little dated.
so i was a little hasty in upgrading Tranmission to version 2.0 and after a while i noticed that the new version is really slow especially for public torrents my question is; is it possible to downgrade to version 1.93?
i followed these command to install the new version.
I've recently upgraded to 10.04. I'm trying to import my evolution data using the following instructions. Everything seems to work ok, but when I start evolution up, it continues to act as a new installation. What do I do?
Quote:
You have an Evolution installation in one home directory and you want to duplicate that configuration in a new home directory. This may involve moving your data from one computer to another. Keywords: migration, user data, new partition, new computer, new home directory
1. Completely shut down Evolution on the old machine/home directory: 1. evolution --force-shutdown 2. If you've used Evolution on the new computer/home directory, remove its config files: 1. evolution --force-shutdown
I have had nothing but trouble, and - judging from the extent of your forums - it looks like I'm not the only one.If this system is so great, why do so many people have so much trouble?
1). How do I import my Contacts, especially if Ubuntu's email program says it can't find my old Outlook? 2) How do I import my bookmarks, again, if Ubuntu's version of Firefox says it can't find any other browser? 3) If I go ahead and install this thing, and then decide it is too much hassle, how hard is it going to be to uninstall it?
I don't mean to be contentious here, but I really don't want to get into something that is only going to substitute one frustration for another, either.
Cobbler import does not seem to work as described here:[URL]..I have selinux disabled.
Code: # mount -o loop,ro Fedora-13-i686-Live.iso /mnt/dvd # cobbler import --path="/mnt/dvd" --arch=i386 --name=fedora13task started: 2010-06-01_235629_import task started (id=Media import, time=Tue Jun 1 23:56:29 2010) running: rsync -a '/mnt/dvd/' /var/www/cobbler/ks_mirror/fedora13-i386 --exclude-from=/etc/cobbler/rsync.exclude --progress
[Code]...
The following are potential configuration items that you may want to fix:
1 : since iptables may be running, ensure 69, 80, and 25151 are unblocked 2 : debmirror package is not installed, it will be required to manage debian deployments and repositories
Restart cobblerd and then run 'cobbler sync' to apply changes. The listed ports are open in iptables, and I do not need to manage a debian deployment.
[URL] Isn't it time we updated the torrents to include at least 10.04? (I got there trying to find a torrent download for 10.10). I have no idea on how to get a hold of the website admin.
When i try to download a torrent through the terminal by using the command btdownloadcurses /path/<torrent name>.torrent I get the error Problem connecting to tracker - <urlopen error [Errno 1
Torrents work fine on all other machines including on a VM within the affected laptop.
No matter what client I use, nothing ever downloads. For example, right now Transmission says "Downloading from 0 of 0 connected peers - Idle" while WinXP in a virtual machine is downloading at 500 kb/s.
Like I said, it's only one this laptop, with all clients, and it works on a VM.
