Ubuntu :: Epson SX100 Printer - On / Off Light Keeps Flashing But Can't Get Anything Else To Function

I have an Epson SX100 multifunction printer which is a year old but rarely been used. The on/off light keeps flashing but I can't get anything else to function. The cartridges move into place but if I press any of the buttons nothing else moves - can't print, scan or photocopy - no other lights showing. Have to pull out the cord to turn it off.
From previous Epson printers I've had I know there are ways to override cartridge empty lights etc and wonder whether someone knows how to re-set this printer. Have had an online chat with Epson but as soon as they know it is just out of guarantee they point you in the direction of the repair shop and it is just not worth paying for a repair as it would cost more than the printer.
using "pclinuxos"my all in one epson sx100 psc is installed and working ,as is the scanner,they are both configured in the control center,?? how do i view the ,"change ink,clean print head options please" .you may have read an earlier post from me (now clicked as solved) when i was using "mint 9", i never did get it to work,
when i moved to linux,my printer was detected and was working ok,just to day i needed to "scan " a document (not used scan since moving to linux) and i cant see how to do it. ive loaded the setup cd ,and tried to reinstall,but i get the message,not reconised or simelar.
I bought a multifunction stylus sx218 Espon model and I can not run the scanner function. I did some research and found a few solutions and very functional. I hope someone solves the problem. My version of openSUSE 11.2.
Every time I login I get the abrt flashing light at the top of the screen, but nothing comes up. When I try to run it manually from Applications->System Tools->Automatic Bug Reporting Tool I get a popup with:

I could just dump abrt since it's hardly a necessity, but I'm inclined not to as I think it's a good idea which could potentially be of great benefit to us all.
I just installed Fedora 10 on my laptop (HP dv2500 series). I have it dual booting between Fedora and Vista. The laptop has one of those wireless on/off switches and next it the LED: blue - wireless active, amber - wireless inactive. It works fine in Vista but whenever I'm using Fedora it flashes between blue and amber quite fast, stopping on blue for maybe 4 seconds, then flashes again. I am on a constant connection to the network though, no sign of connection loss.
Despite being warned from a friend of mine who works for Intel that the new version of Ubuntu 11.04 sucked? I upgraded from 10.10 which worked perfectly fine and did everything that I wanted it to except work with my COBY MP3 player which is what I hoped 11.04 would do. It all worked great until I rebooted. I previously had the main screen on the left where all of the menus are and the right screen was the 2nd monitor.
Once it rebooted it let me login and loaded the desktop but the main screen is now on the right with that stupid application bar going up the side, all of my folders, etc. are all there but NOTHING is clickable, even the icons up in the right corner where you logout, etc. will not do anything other than highlight that you have clicked on them, the hard drive light flickers for a few moments then nothing.
Also the left hand screen is completely blank unless I move the mouse cursor through it. If I just leave the computer sitting there eventually the screens go dark and the monitor lights start flashing like it is supposed to but if I wiggle the mouse the screens come back on and the mouse is there but there is no login prompt to let me log back in. Pardon my French but this OS is a piece of <bleep> and sucks just like I was told.
I have been using the Lucid since about Xmas time as my main Distro. Up until Sunday when I did a fresh Install of Lucid 10.4 final release my epson printer was working, now it isn't even listed in the printer list, but it is still found with lsusb.

I've been trying to get my Epson NX420 printer to scan for about three months now, and I finally got it working. Here's how: 1. Go to [URL] and search for your printer. Select distribution and version and answer a couple of other questions. 2. Download pipslite_1.5.0-2_i386.deb, (or the 64-bit version), and all the iscan*.deb files (again, appropriate to your system). 3. [CRITICAL] Go to [URL] and download this 8.04 package which worked just fine for me on 10.10. 4. Use the Software Center or GDebi or sudo dpkg -i the .debs in this order:
1) libtdl3, which is a dependency for Step 2. 2) pipslite 3) iscan-data 4) iscan-network 5) iscan (If you use a USB connection, you don't need the iscan-network file.) This got my NX420 scanner up and running just fine. Installing libtdl3 was the key; in fact, I used the Debian Lenny package.
I bought an Epson workforce 520 printer and I need to install the drivers to make it work on Maverick Meerkat. where to get the drivers and how to install them.
I can't use my printer/scanner - it is an Epson TX110. When I try to use Image scan - I get the message; "Could not send the command to scanner. Check the scanner's status."
There is nothing wrong with the MFC apart from not working on Ubuntu 9.10. I have had it connected to another computer that ran Ubuntu 9.01 (I think that was the release used) and it ran fine but now I'm stuck -

I have installed fresh fedora 12 & installed many softwares in rpm & tar forms , also i used yum to do installation, all these attempts were successful. But i could not install & configure Epson Dot matrix FX-2175 printer. Epson Dot matrix FX-2175 printer worked fine in my earlier distro fc11.
I have an Epson Artisan 835 network printer hooked up to my desktop. I am running a wubi install of 10.10 and cannot get it to find the printer. I previously had an artisan 830 and it worked fine, however, this new printer is not recognized in the add printer application. So far I have install LSB 3.2, and then installed the rpm package for the artisan 835 using alien -i. Now I am at a loss for what to do.
I ordered a new printer yesterday... I am intending on using it with my Macs, but I am thinking I may want to print on it from my HP netbook running suse linux..The printer is an EPSON WorkForce 610 C11CA50201.
Does wifi printing work on linux? I haven't read anything saying it does, nor have I seen anything that says it doesn't.I also wanted to know if wifi scanning worked.
I have an Epson Stylus Photo PX710W. It worked fine in opensuse 11.2, but I've now done a fresh install of opensuse 11.3 and I can't get the printer to work. I set it up as for 11.2, so I'm sure it should just work.
CUPS job page says:

While the scanner also isn't working, I think this is a separate issue as the CUPS log seems to suggest it is connecting to the printer, + I'm using network and usb connection.
Since 2009 we are using Linux Redhat and all printers are working well. But when I have done Redhat's UPDATE I found all matrix printers (Epson LQ-590) not printing. Those printers are connected to the network by a printer server. When I do "lpr -Pprintername /etc/hosts" the printer prints the file but it not formats characters.

Now this old version works with the HP LaserJet printers. But on the matrix Epson printer it can't work I put lpr - Pprintername or lp -onobanner -Dprintername to print something. The problem steel in formatting text when I print on all matrix Epson printers.
I've used windows all of my life, and never really looked at Linux, so thought it would be a good time to see outside of the box! I installed Ubuntu 9.10 a couple of weeks ago after reading a few Linux Newbie books and deciding it would be the best distro for me. Being completely new with Linux it's proving difficult doing certain things which I would have done with a couple of clicks in Windows, however I've managed to get past some of the problems after hours of searching and messing about. I managed to set my wireless network up, and with a great struggle my wireless printer using cups- which now seems to be printing fine over the network, its IP is 192.168.0.105. However even after reading lots of info and tutorials on Forums & Blogs nothing seems to work regards to my scanner (which is an all-in-one printer SX515W).
The information is completely overwhelming. I've been told to use iscan with the network plugin which I downloaded from [URL] after installing and running image scan or xscan the printer would scan for a couple of seconds and then it would stop, and I'd have to reset my printer. I have installed ubuntu 10.10 netbook remix on my eMachines 350 netbook.. so far, it works good aside from the printer and the built-in SDcard reader.
1. I have tried installing the database driver for epson( dot-matrix printers) but i was out of luck until i have installed the SCP(sorry if I forgot/misrepresented the name) driver which made my printer working.. However, the print quality is a total mess.. broken letters and etc.. (ribbon is brand new) Can someone tell me how to solve this?
2. Having said that I finally solved issue #1, and the printer prints the way it should be, how would I configure my netbook to print wirelessly via a wifi router.. (I was able to do this with windows computers wherein a printer is shared on the network) however, I find it hard to do this in ubuntu since I am not that familiar with this. Note that when I go to system>admin>printing it shows the windows 7 computers in the homegroup but when I search for a shared printer, nothing shows up.. (I know, I'm a NOOB!)
3. This is the last one, I would feel great if we could at least solve this together.. the built in CARD READER is not working on my eMachines EM350 netbook..
I'm new to openSUSE and have only used Ubuntu. I have a Epson Stylus NX110 all in one printer. All I really care about is the print capabilities, scanning is a secondary issue. Suse recognizes the printer but doesn't have a driver for it. On Ubuntu I had to use the NX105 drivers but they worked just fine.
I downloaded the .rpm file for pipslite-1.4.0-5 and tried to install it using YaST, but it needs "libgdk-1.2.so.0". I was given the error "nothing provides libgdk-1.2.so.0 needed by pipslite-1.4.0-5.i386. I am currently running 32-bit OpenSUSE 11.3. Can anybody help me with installing pipslite? I googled libgdk and I notice that it's in gtk+, but I don't know how to install that either.
I have an epson cx7800 printer/scanner that 11,3 doesn't detect on USB. I tried Yast-Hardware-printers and Yast-Hardware-printers and nothing is discovered/detected.
Are there repos for this stuff and is there a tutorial like the one for graphic card theory I could peruse?
I'm trying to configure my SX205 printer. It is well recognized, and Gutenprint driver are available. But the printer doesn't work, here are the error messages : The PPD version (6341210) is not compatible with Gutenprint 5.2.5. I am on opensuse 11.3; so the gutenprint version is 5.2.4, i don't know why it talk about 5.2.5. I have tried cups-genppdupdate but it doesn't change anything.
I tried to configure this printer and clicked on "add printer" but the drop down menu did not contain my printer. Does this mean that the printer driver does not exist?
When I tried to print out a test Open Office document it came up with "printer error" However Open Suse did recognise my printer as a DX6000.

I want to setup my Epson Stylus (515W)-A letter before the 5 but not sure what. Basically when I open CUPS I click on add on new printer, I enter add printer but then the page says access denied. Also this is a network printer.
where can i download linux drivers / PPD file for epson lq-590 dot matrix printer? I have tried printing with the driver for epson lq-570+ but the print quality is not up to the mark
