Ubuntu :: Original Sources.list For 10.04 X64?

May 19, 2010

I think I may have accidentally screwed up my sources.list for Ubuntu 10.04 x64. Does anyone know where I can find the original?

For example, when I try to 'sudo aptitude install zsnes' the package is there (it let's me auto complete it), it gives me the following:

Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Reading extended state information

Ubuntu Installation :: Change The Sources That Aren't In Sources.list?

Apr 21, 2010

I am running Jolicloud on my netbook (which I believe is an Ubuntu derivative) and I am tried to enter the getdeb.net sources in so I can install apps from the website through APT but

1) When I entered the sources into sources.list and then the key into Terminal and then went to the site and tried to install an app it didn't work.

2) I deleted the line of code in the sources.list file and when I opened terminal and entered "sudo apt-get update" it showed the list of sources, but on the list were Getdeb.net sources.

My question is how do I delete sources that aren't in /etc/apt/sources.list ?

Fedora :: Repository List And List Of Installed Applications?

SELinux settings?

Tried putting in the Ubuntu 9.10 cd to update list but I don't know where to go from there as I'm new to certain stuff.

Fedora :: Kernel Sources Removing From Repository Violates GPL Or Not?

Sep 13, 2010

As it written here [URL]. Fedora 13 does not include the kernel-source package provided by older versions, since only the kernel-devel package is required now to build external modules. Linux kernel, does not belong to fedora. Fedora is derivative work isn't it? Or you rewrite all kernel in fedora 13, and fedora is not linux any more? According to GPL, derivative works must be licensed as GPL. And so you must provide ALL sources for free. Including kernel sources. So, where can I get kernel sources for fedora 13? Or I'm wrong, and you shouldn't provide them if you wont?

My main concern is, I'd like to rebuild the most recent kernel package with a custom patch on lucid, but without a source repository, I can't do apt-get source, and thus I can't get the .dsc file for the pacakge..how / where could I do that?

General :: Sources.list: What Is A Deb-src

Apr 8, 2011

In a typical sources.list in a Debian-based distro, I see a line that begins with "deb," and right below it, the same repo preceded by "deb-src." I can figure out that that means "Debian source," but what's the difference between a "deb" and a "deb-src"?

My current sources.list has almost all the deb-src lines removed; I believe I did that at some point because Synaptic was giving me error messages over there being too many entries in my sources.list, and I must have thought the deb-src lines were redundant. I assume I was wrong, eh? The deb-src lines must be there for a reason. I might not have been certain the error messages were due to having too many sources, either; maybe that was only my guess.
