IS there a way to change the Font color of the top menu (File, edit, view History, etc) in firefox or all windows? I'm using a skin that I love but cannot read the menus at the top because the color is blending in.

I'm using the Divergence theme, and I'm loving the transparent top panel. However, the font is dark, so I can't see anything! How can I change the font so it's white, but without changing other system fonts?

It worked for all applets on the panel except for the notification area and me-menu where the font remains dark.
How can i force the font to a light color on these two applets?
Also as i used the "clarlooks" theme for controls the status indicator is duplicated:
There is one instance in the me-menu and another in the notification area. How can i remove either? I find that the gnome-panel is a real hassle since 10.04. Not only it is not logically constructed, but it is inconsistent and not customisation friendly.
I'm trying to change the font color of the text of the bootloader in Grub2. I'm running 9.10. I successfully edited the Grub cfg file change the colors of the Grub menu, but I'd like to change the text color as I watch the modules load and can't seem to do it. I'd also like to password protect the bootloader if possible. I installed startupmanager but the new version won't allow these changes. I like to see my modules as they load and wanted to change the color from white to blue.

My monitor resolution (1680 x 1050) is not listed in 'Display Preferences' or in my card's proprietary software (ATI Catalyst). The maximum resolution I can select is 1440 x 900.xrandr detects a maximum resolution of 1440 x 1440 and displays the same list of screen resolutions as 'Display Preferences'.
But when I enter the line:

I am testing some boot splash screens but the ones I like most are darker and therefore the black font color during boot, well, shows on dark grey or black background, so I can't see.
I would like to change the font color of the messages, but not the results (green=DONE, red=FAILED, etc., I don't want to change that, only the messages like "doing fast boot", "Loading CPUfreq", and all the ones loading stuff, mounting, etc.).

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm using the shiki colors theme from the repos right now. "Shiki-Noble" to be specific. When typing something into Firefox's URL bar the internet addresses have got a dark font color and are hard to read on the dark background. Here's a screenshot: FF.jpg
I've had similar issues with other themes and Firefox's URL bar before.
I just upgraded to Maverick this afternoon, and have run into one very small, but very annoying problem.
Since upgrading, the text color for the Firefox menu is black. This makes it unreadable/invisible using probably the majority of personas. I have been able to find no way of changing this color. This was not an issue in Lucid.
There have been other threads on this subject, some of which suggest editing a userChrome.css file. I have edited that file, but upon restarting Firefox, the changes I have made revert back to what they had been before I made my edits.
I have also fiddled around with trying to change all manner of GTK settings, but still nothing has had any influence. I logged into a Gnome session, as well, but was still unable to remedy this.

I changed the boot splash screen no prob (Plymouth theme).
Just installed Ubuntu 11.04 where by default the top bar, where the ubuntu log and the time hangs out, is this nice dark humanity theme that fits in wonderfully with ambiance. I am not all sure what happened... as far as I know all I did was update the system and now the top has much more of a kde/clear looks theme too it. I want the old look back. I looked through the appearance app and cssm and couldn't seem to find the settings I need. What do I need to do to change it back? Also, as a completely unrelated question, I would love it if I could change the order of the apps in the unity bar in addition to which apps have icons there.
