View 9 Repliessince ive installed 10.4 im quite taken by rythmbox which i didnt really discover before somehow but i have a problem with the store-plugin
whenever i restart rythmbox it seems to be working fine, then i try to buy a song and then it says "connecting..." but then nothing happens, meaning it doesnt connect.i made an account but i dont find a problem-log
I added a song to my basket and when I click Checkout....it just stays on this message "Connecting you to the Ubuntu One Music Store..." and does nothing.
How can I fix this so I can buy music?
I downloaded banshee because i knew that could put movies on my ipod, but everytime i run banshee my ipod doesn't show up. i tried started it, then plugging it in and still didnt show up. Anyone knows what the problem is?

View 1 Replies View RelatedFor a long time, I've been downloading music from the Amazon MP3 Store (using Windows). I had hoped the Ubuntu One Store would allow me to use Ubuntu for downloading instead of booting into Windows. To date I've only bought and downloaded one album using the Ubuntu Store. Two reasons, namely that the albums are cheaper in the Amazon Store (at least the ones I've bought have been cheaper) and the files are hidden after download from the Ubuntu One Store.
I was reading last night that Banshee will be the new default music player in Ubuntu 11.04, so, I downloaded and installed Banshee which I discovered has the option to let me download from the Amazon Store (something I've not managed to do yet in Ubuntu). So I gave it a try and it downloaded an album successfully. As an added bonus, the music was downloaded to my Music folder and wasn't downloaded to a hidden folder anywhere. So now I have access to the Amazon Store (cheaper) and the files are not hidden (much easier to make a cd or move to another device for backup).
As of now, I'm exclusively using Banshee because of the reasons I've given above and I can see no sense in using the Ubuntu One Store as it stands. Will Banshee actually be the default music player in 11.04? If so, will it retain the ability to go to the Amazon MP3 Store? If so, will that then be the default for downloading music? If so, what will become of the current default and any music that's already been downloaded from there?
I am using Ubuntu 10.10, and am trying to use Rhythmbox. I have 180gb of music on an external hard drive, and have that music folder set in my library location settings. When I open Rhythmbox, my drive shows up, and it starts importing. It doesn't show up in the "Music" section, and when I close Rhythmbox, then re-open it, it rescans that drive all over again. what I'm doing wrong and why it won't save my library,
View 1 Replies View RelatedAt the moment I use Rhythmbox to acces my music and my iPod 5G. I would however like to use Banshee, but in Banshee all my iPod 5G-music is displayed under the video folder, while the music folder is empty. Any idea why?And also I have several albums with different artists on them, which gets spread out on i.e. 10 single albums even though they belong to the same album. This happens - as far as I can tell - after I've accessed the iPod from Rhythmbox (which is part of the reason why I wanna use Banshee).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently got an iPod touch 2nd gen. I plugged it in and it immediately showed up in Rhythmbox. I dragged and dropped music files to the iPod icon listed under devices on the left hand pane. The files ARE on the iPod, I can confirm by finding them on the device in Nautilus. The problem is, they do not show up in the music library on the actual iPod. Did I miss something, or is there a step I must take to get them to show up in the iPod's music library so I can play them?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIf you want to try the music store out without risking of any of your hard earned, 7digital have a selection of free downloads here. Check them out on web site, then go find in Rythmbox and check out as normal. This is using from UK, I assume they also do the same in other territories.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just downloaded my first track and I was pleased!
It was easy to find, pay, and download. It was 20 cents cheaper than AmazonMP3 too.
I had the same song downloaded from AmazonMP3 and compared them side-by-side.
The 7digital file had a better bitrate (320KB/sec) than AmazonMP3 (225KB/sec) and I didn't notice any quality in the sound.
I noticed, however, the AmazonMP3 track was stereo and the 7digital one was mono.
Mono?
What?
Are all the songs like this?
I read that there will be a plugin for Amarok to access the Ubuntu One Music Store, but haven't heard anything of it since. Will the plugin be ready before 10.04 or when 10.04 launches? Or will there be another way to access the Music Store from Kubuntu without installing Rhytmbox?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI found some artists/albums available on 7digital that are not available on Ubuntu One Music Store. Is that done on purpose?
One example is:
Artist: New Young Pony Club
Album: The Optimist
Does anyone know where the files downloaded from the Ubuntu One Music Store are stored? They are not in the Music folder or anywhere else in my home folder that I can determine, yet Rhythmbox sees them. I noticed that in the Rhythmbox preferences I can no longer specify one specific folder as a watch folder (it defaults back to "Multiple Locations Set"). I'd like to transfer the files I bought to a flash drive, but cannot find them.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI just started using the Ubuntu One Music Store from within Rhythmbox and all was going well until I tried to play a music video. (Search for Daft Punk. Scroll to Videos. Click 'Around the World' and attempt to play.)
Then I got a stupid error message saying:
"Internet connection is required to access the music store. Please connect and reload."
I could not get rid of this error message by restarting Rhythmbox. I had to unload the Ubuntu One Music Store plugin, and then restart Rhythmbox.
I fully intend to use Ubuntu One, Amazon, or another music store to purchase music from now on, but the problem is that I still have $11+ in my iTunes account and I don't feel like letting it go to waste. So my question is, is there any way I can use the iTunes Store on Ubuntu? I looked at PyMusique, but it no longer works with iTunes, as well as many other things. Would it be possible to install an older version of iTunes that worked with WINE and use the store from there?
View 4 Replies View RelatedUpon loading the music store in rythmbox it crashes the program. Probably not the best way to start off the new endeavor.
View 1 Replies View RelatedTitle says it all. Following the instructions at the site [URL] "Start using the Ubuntu One Music Store by going to Applications Sound & Video Rhythmbox Music Player." yields nothing.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm literally banging my head against my computer desk now, because i'm really frustrated about Banshee Or Rhythembox not putting all my songs onto the ipod. I have 930 songs, and they only put 303 songs onto the Ipod. I manually put them in, and still wont work. This is really upsetting. It used to work so perfectly in 10.04, but it's not workin in 10.10.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to get music which was originally on iTunes into banshee, such that I can transfer "ownership" from a Mac onto Ubuntu, and still sync with my iPhone 3GS. Every piece of this music came from CDs which I still own and have collected since CDs were something most people hadn't heard of, but I seriously do not want to sit there and scan in hundreds of CDs again when I already have them in digital form.
I've tried several things, including dragging and dropping from a USB stick. So I've been getting duplicates, and in the process I deleted an album in order to start over. Now I can't get that album back no matter what. It's like it's black listed or something. I can try to load it from the USB stick, I can copy the containing folder from the USB stick to some place on my hard drive, anything. It knows I deleted it once upon a time and it refuses to touch it.
I am looking for music player like banshee but do not want mono . Banshee unfortunately requires mono
[Code]...
Obviously have not given all all the deps, but the last 7 odd ones tell you what I mean. If anybody knows of any good music player which has similar functionality as banshee lemme know. Look for two things:-
a. Should be able to play all and any music format (have all the plugins)
b. Should be able to close it and have it in the system tray playing in the background.
What do I need to do, to make music play in banshee?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI upgraded to Banshee 1.7.3 from the OMG OpenSUSE link:
Banshee brings the Amazon Store to Linux | OMG! SUSE!
I can open Banshee, but now I get a red X beside all of my songs when I try to play them. I have checked to make sure that no codecs were removed, and they all look appear to be installed. Missing my music.
I have a server (running Ubuntu 10.04 LTS) that has mt-daapd sharing all my music. I just recently changed all my desktops over to Fedora 15 from Mint 11 & came up with something I wasn't sure how to fix. When the desktops had Mint 11 on them if you opened Rhythmbox the mt-daapd share showed up on the left without me having to do anything (under Shared Music). Now that I have switched over to Fedora, I don't see that heading or my mt-daapd shares.I have tried Rhythmbox & Banshee. I can connect to it & play music, but I would like for it to just show up & I can't for the life of me figure this out.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently installed Banshee and would like to set it as my default music player. Currently, when I plug in my iPod, Rythmbox auto loads and then Banshee cannot access the device. Is there a way to go about changing this setup so when I plug in the iPod, it's Banshee that loads it and not Rythmbox?
