I am using 10.10 and Namoroka I cant access hotmail. I also have minefield which is installed from the ubuntuzilla ppa it can access hotmail if I about:config what settings do I change to grant access .I want to remove minefield which I installed before I upgraded, as I don't want two versions of firefox.
View 2 Repliesim really impressed with the OS so far, exactly what i've been looking for. the install was a little rough, it hung up on "getting the time from the server" for almost 15 minutes even though i was connected to the internet. then for the first few bootups, the ubuntu boot screen was a box that only took up 1/4 of the screen. but that went away. anyway - im in now and its all looking good, but theres a few things i would like to be able to know how to do.
#1 - how do i set up evolution to access my hotmail account?
#2 - just noticed this while uploading an avatar to this site, the box that pops up that lets you browse your files - theres no view change? i have to click each individual picture to see what it is; can this be changed?
#3 - what is currently the best way to get an expose-like feature going in ubuntu?
If you leave your hotmail account signed in on a proxy server, can others access that account by just typing in [url] in their browsers? ie does the proxy server share all connections to the same site with logins?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been having some problems get Firefox to sync across different OSes and across different computers. To solve these problems (so far) I've been deleting the .mozilla folder in one os (in which Firefox sync won't sync) and then copying and pasting in place of the deleted .mozilla folder, a .mozilla folder from another os. Been working just fine.
Firefox Sync syncs just fine (relatively speaking) in this fresh 11.4 install, but few of the add-ons I'm accustomed to will work in Firefox 4. I'm not sure about using my normal solution because I see that 11.4 has a firefox folder and a .mozilla folder that contains a firefox file. If I replace the .mozilla folder, what am I to do with the firefox folder? Further, on all my other OSes, I have both Firefox 3.6 (or Namoroka) and Firefox 4 (or Minefield). I don't seem to have both options here in 11.4.
whenever i go to videos and click on a video, namoroka just freezes or hangs (it will become a little dark grayish in color). i will wait for some time for it to become normal but, no matter how long i wait, it is just like that. what is wrong with namoroka?

In Ubuntu Lucid 10.04 I have installed F/f 3.5 and 3.6,showing in Synaptic and also 3.6.5pre which does not appear in the synaptic list as it was installed direct from Mozilla. If I try to run 3.5 or 3.6 Namoroka still grabs the command.
I would like to revert to the recognised/updated version of 3.6 (already installed)and completely remove all redundant packages. Mozilla only suggests removing the profile but I need that when the recognised version is allowed to run.

Thus far I have had no luck. I have installed Namoroka from the ppa repo and got flash working nicely but java is another matter. I followed instructions to install the jre manually but no matter what I do it will not display in FF's "aboutlugins". I have to ask if Namoroka is using the default folder: /home/username/.mozilla/plugins/? Because that is where I created the symlink to the java plugin.

But it is creating many problem on my browsers. Like i am not able to open new orkut just because they support only firefox and also i am not able to watch facebook videos (It always says certain video is unavailable but at the same point of time it is available in other browsers).

Having had Namoroka before, and knowing how unstable it was, I immediately removed it and reinstalled Firefox 3.5 from Linuxappfinder.com. Upon this last update, Ubuntu again downgraded me from Firefox 3.5 to Namoroka. I am worried about updating my other computer because of this problem.

View 14 Replies View RelatedFirefox 3.6 "Namoroka" stopped working after a recent update. Clicking on my panel launcher or the launcher in the applications menu does nothing. I even tried starting Firefox from the terminal and got an error message: "(firefox-bin:3592): GLib-WARNING **: g_set_prgname() called multiple times", whatever that means.I would be willing to rip out Firefox and start all over again but I don't know how to remove the 3.6 version. I couldn't find a method in the Software Center for doing that graphically.

I even tried un-installing Namoroka and installing firefox 3.5 (via apt-get install firefox-3.5), but somehow I continue to get firefox 3.6 (aka Namoroka). Anyone know how to resolve my Namoroka issues or how to install the seemingly more stable 3.5 version? I don't know if this makes a difference, but I originally had installed ubuntu and then installed kde (kubuntu-desktop) desktop on top of it. And yes, I've checked my sources.list to make sure mozilla-daily repository is not listed.

so its not that difficult after all - just use PRISM!log into hotmail on your browser - copy the http: line and add it to PRISM then add your login detail and Voila! all ready to add to the task bar!ok so not the most in depth how-to but if youve been messing about with all the different email apps using Prism will be childs play! if not just message me and ill add more detail.

I had to use a different computer just to get into my hotmail to verify my new account here so I could ask about this. View 9 Replies View RelatedI 've got an hotmail (live-mail) account, that I'm using on my iPod with Microsoft Exchange. This is really working fine, so I was very happy when I read, that you can use this feature with Evolution Mail.
Now my Problem is, that the Settings I use on my iPod won't work with Evolution.
I think the Problem is the OWA URL cause whatever I do it can't connect to this Server.

I have my hotmail account set up in evolution and it receives just fine but it gets stuck trying to send. Its set to smtp.live.com for the sending server. any suggestions as to why it wont send? i have a gmail account set up with thunderbird and it sends just fine so i know i can send.

What does this mean? I mean there are plenty of guides that tell you how to but majority of guides of no insight to help you understand what is going on. Also I don't know about you but I find it an incredibly shallow and not to mention fraught experience following guides that contain customized elements because I never know the specifications applicable to me. You can't always just copy and paste commands as sometimes variables are tailored to the instructor's situation.

I am using hotmail as my main email and want to setup the evolution as my default email client.but for some reason it couldnt download my folders which are on the server.it only downloads the mail from the inbox.is there any workaround for this.also if i switch to thunderbird would it be able to download the folder from hotmail??
View 8 Replies View RelatedI just synchronized my hotmail account with evolution and it works flawlessly, however every time I click send-receive it stars to download mail by mail (more than 10,000, so it takes a while) and it won't check if I got new messages until it is done. The first time it happened I thought it was a normal thing, and that evo won't scan ever again from my hotmail account. Does anyone know how to stop doing that?
I have another brief question, I would like to know if there's a way that when I read a message on evolution it will also mark as read the same message on my hotmail account.
