I'm trying to make a script to go from one machine to another so I can copy files through scp 1 at a time. Here is what I got so far:

The only thing I am looking for, is how do I make it so it will not prompt me for a password?
I want to make my machine to PXE boot windows from another machine having RHEL5.2. I know the procedure to PXE boot linux, but I want to know is it possible to PXE boot your client machine with windows XP.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just moved back to openSUSE after spending almost 2 years in ubuntu-land. What happened to the fonts? Why are they so ugly? To me it looks like they are poorly rendered. I installed openSUSE 11.2 on another computer to confirm the problem... it persists. I took some screenshots to compare my settings.

The second screenshot doesn't show, but both settings are using the exact same fonts and the same size. (Except the Window title font). From those two, it should be very clear that Ubuntu renders them more nicely. I don't want to start an UbuntuopenSUSE flame.. How to make my openSUSE machine display nice fonts.. ?

When I try make uninstall I get:

I set up the USB Filters just like I did on my laptop, but it says Unavailable and wont recognize anything I plug into usb port. When running and I right click on the usb icon at bottom they show up but shaded and will not let me select any uSB device. In Device Manager USB appears to be installed but NO DEVICES SHOW UP. View 5 Replies View Relatedi have ubuntu 10.10 installed in dualboot with win7 on a asus 1201n netbook. the first os in the first black screen boot menu is win7, which means that it is the default os to boot if i don't use the arrow down to ubuntu. well, i had enough experience with ubuntu to decide that i want to defaultly boot into ubuntu.
does anybody know how i change it ? [there is no menu.lst file in 10.10, so i didn't find the way to do it]
Unable to complete install: 'Invalid install location: Mounting location nfs://192.168.1.12/var/ftp/pub/ failed' when i try to make virtual machine using virt-manager. i get this error.why this occur,please tell i take these steps for making virtual m/c.
1 change system ip into static and install virtualization group.
2 make one partition where i want to install vitual m/c
3 then vim /etc/exports, in which i give path where is data and give rw permission to all. then restart services of portmap and nfs.
4 then on login with xen kernel and on terminal i give virt-manager command and follow steps. at last i get above error. where i m wrong,clearify me so i make vir m/c .
Is it possible to make this automatic, that is, how can I make the server active during the machine boot up?

Also, do I need to group all the files I want to make accessible in some directory and make the directory and its contents accessible or can I just make the individual documents available? I will be providing these links to my colleagues and do not want them to be down, so need to make sure that the apache services are up automatically after a reboot. I also installed Fedora 14 on my USB External Hard Drive which it has it own boot sector. I don't want to have a dual boot. So if I plug in my external HD to my laptop and turns the machine on, it automatically my Fedora comes up, other wise my windows 7. After setting everything and start installing windows form CD, I got BLUE SCREEN right after "WINDOWS FILES LOADING..." finished. it shows me a blue screen and then it will stop

I want to make licencing software. For that first i am retrieving hdd serial no, nic mac address. But the prob is, what if someone changes/replicates its hdd serial no or mac address ? Many softwares are available to do so, in market. How can I find some unique identifiable string for a machine that user can not change?

Internet and smb-browsing ON this machine work, as does pinging FROM it. If this was a windows machine, I'd say a firewall is in the way, but since it's a vanilla karmic install, this should not be the case (or should it?).
