Software :: How One Mobile And Five Mobiles Operate In UTRAN

Mar 21, 2011

I've installed eurane in ns2.30. I'm trying to simulate how one mobile and five mobiles operate in UTRAN (UMTS). It executes without errors and makes the trace. But when I open the trace.tr files to see the results, I find "LMS_SETUP" messages instead of "UM_Data, AM_Data".I've tried it, but it gives no error. The simulation doesn't give me an error, but the traces are incorrect. The file .tcl for one mobile and five mobiles where made by another person and they work.

Debian :: Cannot Operate Veracrypt

Feb 12, 2016

I am unable to run Veracrypt on Debian 8.3 64 bit. Yet I have applied the installation procedure.

I downloaded the 1.16-veracrypt-setup.tar.bz2 archive and I unpacked in a directory veracrypt I created in my home.

I get 4 files: veracrypt-1.16-console-setup-x64; veracrypt-1.16-console-setup-x86; veracrypt-1.16-setup-gui-x64; veracrypt-1.16-setup-gui-x86

I keep 2 that match my 64-bit architecture, ie: 1.16 veracrypt-console-setup-and-x64-veracrypt 1.16-setup-gui-x64.

I log in as root in the terminal. I slip the veracrypt-1.16-setup-gui-x64 file. Validate the installation choices by default. After completing the installation, I see the icon Veracrypt and when I click on the Veracrypt application does not start.

Ubuntu :: Will 10.04 Operate Using Kernel From 9.04

Sep 1, 2011

I've used Jaunty since it came out have been quite happy with it. However, it is no longer supported and I can't access updates. When 9.10 came along, I tried to install it but found my system would randomly freeze. In fact, it randomly freezes with 10.04 as well. I tried Linux Mint's equivalent to Ubuntu's 9.10 and 10.04 and have the same problem. I've visited discussion boards and see that this is a huge problem for many Ubuntu users --- but I've never found a solution that works.

I assume the problem is in the kernel and am interested in seeing if 10.04 will run on that kernel version. My questions are these:

a) Is my conclusion that the source of my problem is the kernel a reasonable conclusion to reach?

b) If the conclusion is reasonable, is it possible to run 10.04 using the same kernel that 9.04 came in?

c) If the answer to C is, "Yes," then is there a tutorial that will walk me through how to install kernels?

Ubuntu :: Files Are Corrupted And Will Only Operate Kubuntu ?

I recently downloaded a copy of Kubuntu from the official website...when i finished downloading it and tried to run it inside windows, my virus scanner immediately picked up several malware inside temp files in my computer called win32 antivirus. I attempted to install kubuntu on my computer on a partition (i've previously done this on other computers no issues) but it had multiple partitions. Instead i tried to do a clean install of kubuntu then attempt to install vista again then. However it is now telling me my files are corrupted and will only operate Kubuntu. This is not what i want, i wanted to operate both on partitions as i haven't completely figured out how to use kubuntu?

Ubuntu Servers :: Possible To Operate Web Server 'without' Registering Domain Name

May 14, 2011

I'm wondering if it's possible to operate a Web Server 'without' registering a domain name, using an IP address alone.I currently have Apache & Tomcat running on one of my workstations. I am currently using these servers as development sandboxes; and I have P2P Search Engine 'YaCy' running under Apache, which is accessible from the outside to the entire P2P network.

Since my Apache server is accessible from the outside, I was thinking that I might setup one of my other workstations as a server with just my 'external' IP address & port number as a way of reaching my site, i.e. http:// 255.183.47.201:8090/. I can't see any reason why this wouldn't be possible. I seem to remember several of my former companies doing this on their corporate Intranets. Also, I wouldn't be locked into registering a domain name every year; and I wouldn't have to worry about any content restrictions. If my intended audience knows where to find me; I can't see any reason why this wouldn't work. And, I don't see why my site couldn't be indexed by search-engines. The only caveat I can think of is making sure I have enough bandwidth from my ISP to support the anticipated traffic. If this will work, I assume I can setup a regular website, an online store, podcast, or provide any other type of tradional web-service this way.

Installation :: Webpages Don't Display Correctly, Flash And Other Plug-ins And Web Scripts Don't Operate?

Nov 4, 2010

installing a Linux distro on an old mac to make a simple desktop home computer details below. The Scenario: I am trying to breath a couple more years of life into a computer illiterate friend's Mac G4 [POS] computer, it is a paper weight but all he needs is a basic desktop and an web machine and he can't be made to buy a new one unless all other options are exhausted.

The computer: Is a Mac G4 power-PC architecture, 450 MHz, 18 GB HDD, 1024 Mb ram ugly little thing that was gotten for free it currently has mac OS 10.2 [unsupported] and newer OS-X (he is more familiarized with Mac) don't run on power-PC. Currently web pages don't display correctly, flash and other plug-ins and web scripts don't operate and it is very clunky with software bloat.

My solution? Is to install Linux so he can have a trim clean operating system. Ubuntu 10.04 [community ppc variant] runs off a live CD but is dead slow on account of the low processor power and I was unable to get gnash to run flash video a necessity as Adobe has abandoned power-PC, I suspect the gnash error is between chair and keyboard, advice is welcome. I would like to install a distro more suited to this system currently I am looking at mintPPC but can't quite follow the installation instructions what is meant by Debian squeeze the download link gives me a mini.iso is this the same thing? Also clarification on the terminal commands would be of help. Advice on a different distro is also welcome preferably one with an all in one installing process rather than the mint, Debian, Ubuntu multi-part thingy that mintPPC is; it just needs to be power PC compatible and able to run on a few hundred MHz maybe there is an easy way to put LXDE or Xcfe on a more popular Disto? As for me: I am a new Linux convert, discovering the glory this past July and am still learning my way around I am computer literate and somewhat savvy but I am not a tech head and I HATE working on them I can and do it but I don't like it and I am often hampered by ignorance of the latest new/trends and an acute allergy to Macs and Apple products in general.

Fedora :: Updating The Installed To Include And Operate With AHCI Mode Drives?

Dec 15, 2010

I have successfully installed a dual boot system with Fedora 14 on drive sdb and WIN7 on drive sda, with Fedora 14 being the major (default) OS. The system is an AM3 with a quad core CPU and all SATA drives. The drives are set to IDE mode, and I am wondering:-

1. What are the benefits of AHCI - will it improve the speed and responsiveness of my system? And

2. If it is worth installing, do I have to do a complete re-install of the OS, or is there some way of updating the installed Fedora to include and operate with AHCI mode drives?

I'm quite happy with the system as it is now, but if there is a way to squeeze extra speed out of it I'm willing to give it a go. And never having been involved with SATA drives and Linux previously, I'm completely ignorant on the subject.

Fedora Networking :: VM's To Be Able To Ping Each Other And Have Own "network" To Operate / Communicate

Jul 2, 2011

I have been trying to set up a network bridge for the 2 virtual machines installed on my Fedora 14 host PC. I want the VM's to be able to ping each other and have their own "network" in which they can operate/communicate. What is the simplest way to accomplish this? Most of what I have read revolves around turning off NetworkManager, and the following config files:

Once these files are configured and the network is restarted, the bridge should work. Is this true? I have been encountering problems with this process, specifically when I try to link a VM to a bridge.
