Software :: Good Hex Editor - Allow To View Contents Directly And Copy And Paste Stuff

I'm trying to view directly a partition with a damaged filesystem on it (NTFS) and so far the hex editors I tried do not do that. I tried GHex for example and it complained that /dev/sda is not a file. The partition is unmountable as NTFS however since it is damaged so I couldn't mount it first. Are there any hex editors out there that would allow me to view the contents directly and copy and paste stuff in there?
I am trying to upgrade PHP on our linux box ( CentOS ) I copied the configure command from the phpinfo and now I want to execute that.I am not able to copy the command from an editor in linux to the command prompt, clicking the wheel om my mouse does not work, neither does shift-insert or ctrl-shift-insert.It does work in the editor itself.Is there a way to do this ?Or is there a way to execute the command in linux while it is in the file ? Like a bat file on Windows ?
I am trying to copy paste from a file in Nano to a text editor outside of nano on my machine (I am running windows using Nano through Putty) and I cannot figure out how to do it. I can select with mouse support enabled everything that I want to in Nano and I can cut it, but when I try to copy into my other text editor, it does not work.
I have been working in macromedia dreamviewer for editing html and php files, Just now I moved to linux system by installing xampp , my question is that I need a best html and php editor that supports both the design view and code view as like in dreamviewer.
just installed ubuntu couple of days back on my netbook. I am still a beginner, enjoying my adventure exploring ubuntu. I have another desktop which runs on XP. I am able to access XP shared folders through my netbook(linux). However, i wanted to copy files from XP infact folders using TERMINAL in my netbook, not copy and paste using my mouse. Are there any commands for it?
Fresh install of openSUSE 11.3 here and I am used to launching Konqueror as root from the CLI and having a cut and paste editor to use. This doesn't work in KDE 4.4. I can't launch kwrite from the cli as root. What am I supposed to use? I installed midnight commander but it can't cut and paste correctly. I am feeling a bit frustrated with KDE 4.4.
I've been looking for a good, easy to install, video editor. All searches thus far have lead into blind install alleys. All I want to do at this point is edit, cut, and paste AVI and MPEG4 files.

so i signed in as root and typed in visudo now i alreayd made the changes but how do i exit and save super+x doesnt seem to do it for me since im not using nano and not supposed to cause it causes errors

I backed up about 19GB of my Web Server today compressed into a .tar.gz. I then split these files into 4300MB chunks (approx 4.2GB). I then used k3b to write 2 parts of the archive these to a Dual Layer DVD. The burn went fine but I cannot seem to mount said DVD. I tried the following;

I have been trying to get Cinelerra, but keep getting errors like bash and stuff like that. Is there a good substitute video editor that is on par with Cinelerra? I had it before and like it, and would like something that is as straight forward to use as that.

Never used any of the office applications. I've attached the zip file and this is what the poster said...
In the actual spreadsheet though, there are two sheets. The first is all the raw data which you can order by position (based on me watching the games, and the line-ups listed on the AFL websites), K: H ratio, state etc. The second is a sheet which you can use to compare players.
I find that sometimes it is easier for me to make decisions about which players to pick when the stats are more obvious, so if you are the same, you can use this sheet as well. Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy the spreadsheet and I'll update it after each round. Fixed, I had to change the file from .zip to .xlsx
In trying to install an update, I deleted all the programs from my Ubuntu 9.10. Now I can not get my pictures, documents and music from the computer. I tried booting from a Ubuntu Live CD but when I get to the folder of my documents it says "you do not have the permissions necessary to view the contents of "My_Folder"". I tired the nautilus command but that only lets me view the files and not copy them.
As the topic title states, I would like to know the preferred way of viewing the contents of a Berkeley DB file. The machine the file is on is running SuSE 9.3, with perl 5.8.6 and php 5.2.0 installed. I discovered the Perl module Geo::Coder::US, which uses Census input (TIGERLine files) to create a Berkeley DB file, then reads said file to produce its own output. However, the output from Geo::Coder::US only provides latitude and longitude information.At the moment, my only interest is in popping the Berkeley DB file generated with the import script packaged with the Geo::Coder::US module. I'm trying to see what the contents of that DB file are, so I can determine if the information I'm after is even in there in the first place.
Anyone know why, my copy & paste in the terminal doesn't work....it's there, just not highlighted, I need to install Sun Java and can copy the command lines from the forum I just can't paste them into the terminal. Also is there a way to check that my Ubuntu download to my USB stick is error free?
How come I can view the contents of the drive using Dolphin before I mount the device? I cannot see the contents using the bash shell until the device is mounted.
What command do I need to use to view the /casper/initrd.lz file on a live USB? Here's what I know about initrd.img in /boot on standard installations:

The usual vim yank and paste works only in the same window (but does work across files and close/save commands). Is it possible to make it work across terminals (yank from window in one terminal and paste in another) and if so, how?
I can't Copy, paste, select all, or find with my keyboard... pretty much all the commands that involve the Control key don't work. in firefox... the edit> copy, paste , etc commands are actually grayed out too.
I'm running Lucid, and whenever I run a program in gnome-terminal that captures the mouse (dvtm, elinks, mc) I cannot highlight any text, which prevents me from copying any text from the terminal.
I can't copy & paste text from an Evolution email message without first pasting the text into an editor like gedit or a word processor and recopying it a second time... Then it works fine... I thought the problem may have been a Delphi forum specific problem, but it also does the same thing on this board...
I running 10.04 with the default Evolution mail program.
BTW on Delphi I can turn off the wysiwyg editor and paste as "source" and it works just fine without the paste and recopy step...
