i'm trying to burn a video_ts folder its a dual layer i went to new video dvd project and in the video_ts folder i just copy what was in the video ts folder on my computer.. error as folowed...

I have a Video DVD on HDD. Complete structure in VIDEO_TS folder. Problem is I can't find a program to successfully burn it. Brasero doesn't even have an option for Video DVD. The Video DVD option it has wants to try and do encoding or something. It doesn't even take the VIDEO_TS folder. If you choose data disc and burn the VIDEO_TS folder then the disc don't work in stand-alone DVD players and only works on the Linux pc itself.
Gnomebaker has the same problem as above.
K3B doesn't want to work. Just keeps giving the error "Unable to determine size of image".
So where to turn ? Is there an app for Ubuntu that can actually burn a video dvd to be playable in a stand-alone dvd player ?
I am trying to burn a few video files to dvd using brasero, but after the burning process is about half the way through it simply disappears with no error at all. Only the terminal says

How to burn my videos now.
I have a folder called VIDEO-TS filled with .vob files and other things. I did it before, but don't remember what I used to make it a regular dvd video. I tried Devede, but when I drag the folder to the app, it says "folder contains non-vob files and can't continue" or something like that.

I put the DVD and then open up Brasero and click on "video protect" then I chose the video file I want to burn, I click the "burn" button and choose the settings I want then when press the "burn" button once more.
I then get this screen...
It then ejects the DVD and I get this...
I was wondering if there is automatic boot-ability for when you burn a custom over sized cd iso onto a dvd using Brasero? Or does this obtaining this functionality require more effort on my part?

K3b is, for me the one and only best burn in tool and I use it exclusively for backuups to CD's, DVD's, saving music, etc. Various blogs say to go to Livna and install k3b-extras-nonfree but when I tried that, k3b-extras-nonfree was not found.

K3B has always been a handy tool for DVD related tasks.I have a bunch of mpg files. I opened a new video DVD project and copied the mpg files into the video_ts folder. When I burn, I got a message "the project does not contain all the necessary DVD files".Is this the right way to go about burning a DVD with K3B? Does K3B look after the DVD structure (ie. AUDIO_TS & VIDEO_TS) or do I need to create the DVD structure first?

When i tried to write the ISO file to the CD using Win7 burner first CD and also using Nero in the second CD.. Both the CD are not working.. It throwed some error while writing.. Am doing something wrong.. i am downloading the Ubuntu again using the torrent.

It simulates the burn, and when it starts burning it sometimes ejects the media and at other times just says that it cannot eject the DVD and that it has to be done manually. I have downloaded the ubuntu-10.10-dvd-i386.iso and ubuntu-10.10-desktop-i386.iso to make a bootable cd/dvd to install Ubuntu. Now both K3b and Brasero give me problems burning one of the .iso files. It started when I woke up to find that the Unity dock was misbehaving -- none of the icons were appearing, though there was something at the top that looked like a couple of the "flattened" icons that are usually at the bottom. I can't remember what I did in the terminal or gnome-system-monitor to try and fix this, but I think it was unity --reset. (Should've been --replace, I know that now. Unless I was barking up the wrong tree altogether) The result was that the dock disappeared altogether along with the tops of all windows, much as has happened in the past when metacity crashed. But now alt-f2 wasn't working, and while I had a terminal open (and in front of all the other windows), I couldn't type anything into it. (I could, however, right-click and start a new terminal, which didn't work either.)
So then I switched to tty1-6. Unfortunately, I don't know how to use those to start things in tty7, only kill processes. I did some Googling and tried sudo service gdm restart. This, according to ps, ended most of the processes I had open, and now tty7 is stuck on a text screen that says "Ubuntu 11.04" at the top and "* Checking battery state... [ OK ]" at the bottom and has a blinking cursor at the bottom right. Ctrl-Alt-F8 opens a GUI login screen that lists me as "Currently logged in."I'm completely lost here. Is there anything I can do to fix tty7? Is there even anything I should bother doing now but rebooting?
Im getting very slow DVD burning. Quite often in Turbojet2 or using growisofs or whatever, Im getting 0.5x DVD burning speeds.
I set the burn speed to 12x on Turbojet, but it hovers from 0.5x to maybe bursts of 5x.
I will get maybe 9 minute burn times in Brasero for single DVDs but 15 to 25 minutes in Turbojet2 and longer using growisofs or other CLI burning when doing multiple DVDs.

I've tried writing music files such as .mp3, .wma, and .wav and play them in my car, but none of them work, and when I put the CD in my computer again, none of the music files are there!I've used Brasero and K3B to burn them, as well as the default program that just opens up the cd folder, asks you to copy the files and then gives an option to burn them, and I've looked at past threads but none of them seem to have the same problem as me (or else the suggestions don't help at all).

I have tried brasero, nero-linux and k3b to burn (and encode) mp3 files onto a cdrom. Every program burns the cd, but the files are converted to wav format instead of cda. I can only assume that I am missing a lib file or some codec. I am using ubuntu 10.10 and I have enabled everything I can think of, including adding the repositories for "super-os" and every restricted extra I can come up with. I can play cd's, dvd's etc. I can burn dvd's, but audio cd's are a no-go.

I've tried to burn an iso image, extracted the files from the image and tried burning to a 'new' k3b project, but all with the same result. Regular CD and DVD (not RW) works like a charm. I was burning a disc with K3b and it was from an ISO; Burn and verify. Everything went successful, but when I put in my 2nd DVD to burn, K3b doesn't recognize it. On top of that when I right click on the icon of a Blank DVD on my desktop, it doesn't have the Eject Volume option there anymore. Does anybody know what could be going on here? why would my Fedora (11) stop burning and ejecting discs all of a sudden?
also, I tried this with multiple DVDs/drives to see if they were bad DVDs/drives and it's all the same result. Also, since I didn't have the eject option on my desktop I had to eject it with K3b from within the program. There's still a problem though.
edit: Some reason K3b is recognising discs again and is burning again. I guess the restart did it and I don't know why it was acting funny.
I have been unable to burn CD's / DVD's while logged into FC12 with a full GDM session or with just the Gnome Greeter running. If I drop to single user mode and use wodim I can burn w/o issue.

Just switched from a pata dvd burner to a brand new sata dvd burner. I cannot believe how slow it is! My write speeds in any program I use tops out at .9 and slows dramatically down to .3 alot.

My Current / Old box (WinXP)can burn 2.9GB of data over a LAN from a mapped drive using Nero in 7 minutes and maintain file & directory names as they are complete with upper and lower characters, spaces between words and special characters without shortening file / directory names out of the box. My new box (SuSE 11.2) was initially incapable of burning anything, ?Access Denied? I added the user to the cdrom group this allowed the burning of data but the process changed file and directory names. It changed all letters to capitols, replaced blank spaces and special characters with underscores. I still can?t burn ISO files, ?Access Denied?. The time it took to burn the 2.9GB of data on the hard drive of the SuSE install was sort of acceptable but a full 5 to 6 minutes longer and I was forced to shorten file names too.
I changed a setting to allow the full ascii character set hoping this would preserve file and directory names as they are during the burn process. I changed a setting to allow long file names too. I now have another problem, on starting the burn process and after a minute'sh K3B displayed the fact that it was going to take over 1 ? hours to finish! Yikes. After an hour it was going to take a further 2hrs and 10mins. This didn't include read varify. I aborted the burn process, this can?t be correct. I placed the LG drive in my old box, burn process took a second or two less than 7mins to complete using the same data over the same LAN. I've tested the drive for hardware errors, the drive is perfect. Am i missing something, failing to do something or doing things wrong. Is the optical drive or some other component incompatible in some way.
I'll be burning many gigabytes of data on a daily basis and i'm hoping to be able to burn a full DVD disc of mixed data types in less than 10mins whilst preserving the full ascii character set, file & directory names inc special characters and blank spaces. I still need to resolve my "access denied" problem when trying to burn ISO files too.
I was able to burn a DVD-RW with K3B (after changing "sudo chmod 4755 /usr/bin/wodim") but when I try to burn to a CD-R it fails after the opc check. I tried changing the write-speed to 8X (since that's the max for this CD-R) but it still fails.
