Slackware :: PATH -13.0: No Such File Or Directory

I am working on getting my software packages installed on my fresh Slackware64-13.0 installation. Some (but definitely not all) of my executables are unable to be run.
I understand what PATH is for. It is for locating files, folders, executables in those directories when running from a Terminal window.
So, for example, I have just installed Cisco VPN Client for Linux, and it is the strangest thing. I should have access to this. I must not be understanding something here. Does anyone have any idea why this is not working for me? I have put in an example of what I am talking about.
I have just installed SABnzb application in my home folder. The executable file is SABnzb.py When I run the command in the Konsole # python SABnzb.py I have this Quote: python: can't open file 'SABnzbd.py': [Errno 2] No such file or directory
I am total new to linux as I worked mostly on RTOS (symbian). My problem is, I need to find the file IOSTREAM.H and I am following commands below: 1) cd / 2) find . iostream.h ( finds the file / directory from the current path) It shows No such File or Directory
trying to write my thesis in Lyx 1.6. It works fine on my windows laptop at home but Not on my work computer. The problem is, when i try to view it in pdflatex it comes with with: Lyx: file name error The directory path to the document cannot contain spaces
I really missed the old Ubuntu file/dir. copying feature. When I copied in nautilus file explorer and paste into a terminal or text editor, I got the exact path (eg. /home/user/abc.txt), but when coming the Ubuntu 10.04, it added some "file://" prefix to the actual path (eg. file:///home/user/abc.txt), and I always had to manually delete the "file://" prefix. I don't see clearly that we need to place "file://" in front of the actual path (maybe just in the case we want to put the path in an Internet browser?). Wish this reversed back.
I get an error when running slapt-get. The error is: "slapt-get: error while loading shared libraries: libsas.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory".
I've booted the Slackware disk # 1 and unchecked everything except the libraries category and installed them. I rebooted and it still says this. I get this same error before I put the disk in and rebooted to install ALL libraries. I really need help. BTW, I can't load KDE.I found a pkg manager already installed called "slackpkg". But I really need help on this library issue!! I uninstalled it (slapt-get) anyway, so forget that!
I tried to upgrade my slackware xfce 13.0 >> 13.1. I read "man slackpkg" first, and then I did exactly what I read at the man pages, my system was in init 1 mode.
The mirror I used it was the Greek mirror for 13.1. The command slackpkg upgrade-all was running ok until the "r" letter after that all packages did not upgraded because it was ERROR CHECKSUMS.md5 to all of them. Slackpkg did not upgrade all this packages but just check them and them skip them.
When everything stopped I reboot but at loading time it stops and I have this message: "libuuid.so.1:cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory."
After that I have 2 options to press control-d to reboot or to give root pass and login as root@(none):
After I login I cant connect to internet, I cant shutdown the system only reboot it from cl, I even cant go to init 1 or anything else. I dont know if I can fix the problem but I have to try...
I just installed Alien Bob's HandBrake package and am getting a ton of warnings:

I've been building a minimal Slackware system with a small number of packages installed (following this article of ). But now I'm facing a problem with a library call 'libmpfr' when installing the package 'pmount'. I have tried installing libmpfr from source but the installation also REQUIRED libmpfr. Code: error while loading shared libraries: libmpfr.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory.The only solution I could come up with is to look for a precompiled libmpfr so that I can install it using installpkg. But nowhere could I find it by now.
I'm taking here about tins of directories, thousands of files. I'm looking to find a command that makes me able to move the results above to another path, and to create that path once it doesn't exist like below:
trying to install gnucash 2.2.9 from SlackBuilds. I have the current versions of slib and guile installed (slib from slackbuilds and guile from slackware). when installing slib I get the following:

Slib is installed. Try to run gnucash and I get the following: gnc.bin-Message: main: binreloc relocation support was disabled at configure time.

So I have patched the 3.2 sources similar to the 3.1.3 sources. I used the slackbuild from 3.1.3 as well. I get to the install of the script and I get this:

I'm trying to install a WiFi Wireless IEEE 802.11N/G/B WLAN 150Mbps Network Adapter USB2.0 on Slackware. I get the following message when I enter "make install." cannot stat rt3070sta.ko no such file or directory
Installed Slackware 13.37 over the weekend. Good so far. Problem with Firefox though as it does not have a plugins directory where we can move libflashplayer.so into like in previous versions. Where do we put it to file Firefox (and Seamonkey) to play flash.
I've encrypted the /home partition. I've been successful in doing this by following the instructions here:slackware64-current/README_CRYPT.TXTBut after upgrade to cryptsetup-1.2.0-x86_64, when I boot up I get 'no such file or directory while trying to open /dev/mapper/crypthome'I have to manually type 'cryptsetup luksOpen /dev/sda9 crypthome' and mount each time to get into the encrypted partition.I expect to be prompted for the password on boot but I just get that error, what is wrong?my config files:

I am trying to install flash-plugin-10.0.45.2-release.i386.rpm so I inputed the folowing command and got the following error output:

Im sure that this issue is pretty old and you get some results from forums when you google it, but I cant seem to find the solution : When I boot my system ( its duel boot , win7 / Slackware 13.1 ) the message : L 99 99 99 pops up. I thought i'd set up the partitions correctly when i installed ubuntu, with a 15 gig "/" partision and a 45 gig "/home" and a 3.8gig "swap"
I was wrong i somehow misplaced the /home partition, and therefore didn't install it
I found this out about 4 days ago as i was running though video tutorial and realized i didnt have it setup correctly afterall
So... i did some research and found this site...[url] and i found something that seemed to work for various people, i deleted the 'now' windows partition and so i had this:
However i unmounted the /home folder following the instructions without realizing that i didnt have permissions to mount the /new home partition as it is not in the extended ubuntu 9.04 linux partition and i have no rights to it
So my question is, how do i fix the path to the /home folder (original) in ubuntu so that i can start over and do this correctly (ie; resize the extended partition and add the /newhoe directory/patition to ubuntu)
I realize that i can use a sudo command before lines to run su commands that are blocked in ubuntu, which is how i screwed up =
I cannot use anything in the menu as all links to programs are dead, i can run the add app, but it cannot install as the install folders are "not there"... i can see them in the terminal so i know my data is there and i can run the live disc to salvage it, but i cannot see it while ubuntu is loaded
Note; i have not restarted the computer and i don't know if this will block ubuntu from restarting either, so i need to fix via terminal, before i can do anything else, like letting the laptop rest.
I need to add a directory to path in ubuntu. The directory I want to add is on Windows drive .If I try to add a directory , lets say "some directory" to path , then on adding I get following error. The directory resides on HD.

I was wondering if we could cd in the directory of the PATH variable. For example, if I type in echo $DISPLAY. It will give me /tmp/launch-3ee4fg/org.x:0 Is there any way that I can just take the value '/tmp/launch-3ee4fg/' from the output of $DISPLAY and exclude out the filename to the end of the command. I tried using the read command and the IFS variable..apparently IFS does not recognise / I guess.
I'm trying to write a script in python to extract data from maillogs in gz format. I wrote a shell script but i now want to do this in python, as thats the preferred method where i work. anyway does anyone know how to specify directory paths for example the maillogs exist in /var/log so i want the script to go to that directory would LOG_DIR="/var/log/" work?
I am using Apache/2.2.3 on Centos 55. I am having an issue that is pretty strange to me. Whenever I navigate to a url on my webserver from outside my network. I have to put a '/' in the directory path for example When I type in: mydomain.com/directory1 it winds up redirecting to the hostname for my server HOWEVER When I type in mydomain.com/directory1/ it works, since I am adding the '/' at the end of the path. I suspect it is because I do not have my FQDN set up correctly.I did not have this issue when I was using Ubuntu 10.04 , I suspect because Ubuntu automagically set this up for me. Is there a particular way I need to setup my FQDN in centos to get this to work properly? I have tried going into /etc/hosts and adding my FQDN in there, but I do not think I did it properly, is there a particular way the /etc/hosts file needs to be setup?

I must do this from / directory.
If this possible? I Windows systems even if I do the zip C:directory1directory2source.zip C:directory1directory2source.file, it does what I need: a Zip in directory2 with just the file source.file.
I've been looking up the man page for zip, but did not find anything useful, tried, -j, -D with no success.
