Server :: Squid - Create A Exception For An IP Address To Pass Direct?
Feb 1, 2010
I need your help for a problem that it's happening in my customer. What I need is to change the configuration of a proxy, configured on Linux Cent OS v 4.3( explanation - see below) .My squid configuration's file it's like this:
Using Iptables I forward 80 port through squid (3128).Other ports just get connected in the proxy machine itself since it has IP_FORWARD enabled. All my client machines browsers enabled with "Use proxy 3128". I just want to make all the port to pass through squid server.
My squid server works fine in fedora 11 system . Is there any web like interface for admins to create, change, modify users of squid and to view their logs.
I want to pass ip address, port address and some parameters from command line using python script. The ip address and port address for establishing socket connection and remaining parameters to execute different connection.
I need to block mac address in my network then i foolowed as below acl's but am getting output as follows I tried as in /etc/squid/squid.conf acl block arp aa:aa:yy:yy:xx:xx http_access deny block but it give me error as like: - (This is the output of # squid -k parse) aclParseAclLine: Invalid ACL type 'arp' FATAL: Bungled squid.conf line 1234: acl block arp aa:aa:yy:yy:xx:xx squid Cache (Version 2.5.STABLE6): Terminated abnormally.
I would like to ask some help and tutorial for setting up and how to configure squid proxy server in my (Home PC Server). I am a newbie in Linux Centos. I already installed in my system the CentOS 5.5 . Now, I want to configure it as my internet server, all of my 4 system running in Windows including the laptop I want to connect through my CentOS pc with username authentication. I assign all IP address by static. see tthe attachement in my set up. [url] I just want to know what I need to change and add in my squid config file. And how can I configure properly my CentOS with 2 LAN card as internet server.
but it give me error as like: - (This is the output of # squid -k parse) aclParseAclLine: Invalid ACL type 'arp' FATAL: Bungled squid.conf line 1234: acl block arp 00:13:45:d3: 24:e4 squid Cache (Version 2.5.STABLE6) : Terminated abnormally
I need to create two Access Control Lists for my networks using SQUID proxy. The ip address range from 165.165.42.10 to 165.165.42.50 for one network and from 165.165.42.60 to 165.165.42.90 for another network. How can I make it?
I'm trying the tail -f 172.16.X.XX /var/log/squid/access.log to view the sites requested by the client ip 172.16.X.XX but the result is it still open all the ip's requesting for the internet access. is there any tail commands that can monitor only the specific IP address requesting for internet access.
I running Squid 2.7. I using NCSA veryfication so only registered users may use proxy server. I want to allow only 1 connection to proxy for 1 user. Why not per ip ? I have got squid 3.0 stable 13 installed on a new centos5 box .I have used it on other centos5 ones and it has worked really well.It didnt give any error messages during installation on this one until i used the proxies in the browser.I have used it on other centos5 ones and it has worked really well. But with this box I am getting this error in browser-The following error was encountered while trying to retrieve the URL:Yahoo!Socket FailureThe system returned: (99) Cannot assign requested addressSquid is unable to create a TCP socket, presumably due to excessive load. Please retry your request.I have tried many options for http_port but to no avail.I have never seen this error before with and am totally clueless
I'm updating many servers blacklist manualy. from time to time. I want to create a blacklist and host it on a website, and servers will update from this list regularly. For servers I'm using:
Centos iPcop Smoothwall
And for proxy I'm using Squid. And I dont use squidguard.
i have a little trouble using squid headers. i explain. i want that when a client do request from specific Url, like: [URL]... the squid automatically send post header like: [URL].. the goal is when client using the proxy server he will be automatically logged to the server. i dont know where to start. do i need to create my own header? if not how can i possibly send post data.
has no MTA (Postfix, Sendmail, Exim) installed so it can't email me the results of any cron job I schedule. I would then like to have the results from Cron be dumped into a small text file so I can read it later to view any issues.Right now my job is as follows:Code:01 18 * * * /usr/bin/shellscript.shAbove you see my script I want to run every day @ 6:01 pm. My question is what would the cron line look like if I wanted the results dumped into a random text file somewhere on my system?
I hv Cent OS 5.3 installed as server. I hv a network of approx 100 desktops and laptops. For a security purpose i want to block certain laptops from gaining a the network access using dhcp. Can we block the ip address leasing if a specific MAC address request for a ip lease?

Anyone know what version of spam assassin is newer 3.3.1-3 or 3.3.1-52 I would assume 52 is newer but I don't know if once it reaches 99 it going to 2 Example 3.3.1-99 ---- 3.3.1-2 -----3.3.1-21 and so on. I could be completely off but can anyone just clarify if 3.3.1-3 is newer or older than 3.3.1.52
(On a side note does anyone know the difference between spamassassin-3.3.1-3.el5.rfx.i386.rpm and spamassassin-3.3.1-3.el5.rf.i386.rpm?? What does the X mean?) I looked at the release date of .52 and it seems to be in march 2010 whereas .1-3 seems to be in november. oes that seem correct? Does anyone have a direct download to spamassassin-3.3.1-3el5.rf.i386.rpm???

I seem to be having a strange problem configuring Piranha to load balance (Direct route) 2 ports across 2 w2k3 servers in a test environment. What is strange is that 1 of the ports are working fine but the other port doesn't work. I've read many how-to and after many frustrating hours I disabled the firewall, iptables and arptables services and one of the ports are load balanced across the 2 real servers. Here's the environment.
[Code]....
I can telnet from the client to the realserves on both ports and it's works. When I telnet to the VIP only one port gets through and the other gives me "could not open connection to host port 32777 : connect failed. The configuration in Piranha for one port is the same as the other. I can't help but think that some other configuration for port 32777 was missed.
