Server :: Zimbra - Restrict Mail Sending For Subdomain?

May 4, 2011

I am having trouble configuring Zimbra to restrict sending for some users. A subdomain has been added in the ZCS web page for the domain, resulting in two potential mail addresses:

[URL]

The subdomain needs to be restricted from sending mail to the outside world and to other users on the same subdomain. It should only be able to message users on the main domain. The users on the main domain should be able to email anyone in the world. Is it possible to configure this without installing Zimbra on two machines?

poll pop.teledataict.com
protocol pop3
localdomains dot.com.gh

Software :: Configuring Fetchmail - Mail Server Setup

Aug 6, 2010

I have Ubuntu and I want to setup a mailserver. I use fetchmail to fetch mail But I wanted to configure fetchmail with fetchmailconf. I know, I can edit the configfile, but I wanted to use fetchmailconf. According to the man of fetchmail, fetchmailconf is very handy.

In synaptic, I installed fetchmail 6.3.2.2Ubuntu2.3 and I wanted to install fetchmailconf 6.3.2.2Ubuntu2 : well it didnt work
fetchmailconf 6.3.2.2Ubuntu2 needs fetchmail 6.3.2.2Ubuntu2. So, no worries: I searched the internet for fetchmailconf 6.3.2.2Ubuntu2.3, but I couldn't find any. Same with fetchmail6.3.2.2Ubuntu2

First of all, I want to flame synaptic for supplying 2 different versions for 2 pieces of software that only work with eachother.
Second: where can I find 2 matching versions? Or fix synaptic or maybe someone has a really cool solution?

I have got a running mail server on CentOS5.4 Final using Zimbra free edition. . Assume that domain is organization.com.local And it is running fine with users created and bugzilla running on the same machine can send mails using this server. But it can obviously send messages to the internal users. There is this option to configure it to use external mail server to send mails outside the network but my external smtp server needs an authentication. Is it possible to configure it this way to use my external server to send mails from internal domain to say gmail?

Server :: Mail Server Migration - How To Deliver Locally AND Forward Mail To New Server

Jan 21, 2011

Can this be done? A company is currently running a postfix mail server. They got a new server and, while the users are migrated, they need to have the messages delivered on BOTH servers.

I thought it could be easily done in postfix: deliver locally AND forward mail to new server, but all solutions I found would deliver the messages in just ONE place.

Ubuntu :: GUI For Parts Of Server 9.10 And Zimbra?

Mar 11, 2010

I am completely new to Ubuntu so please make your answers really simple ! I want to set up a mail server for a home network and have been suggested I use the Ubuntu solutions. I am fairly proficient with Windows programs and even construct databases but I am a complete novice when it comes to command line instructions. Yes, I know I have been spoon fed!

I have been told that it is possible to install Server programs from the Desktop version and that they provide a GUI in most cases. Is that so? I have the desktop version running and up to date but I am unsure what to do next. Starting the Server ISO CD from Desktop seemed logical but when I did I was not sure if it was correct and backed out. I have also read a thread on this forum that suggests the use of Zimbra as a Mail Server, it sounded like my kind of solution so I think I would like to try that.

One last factor. I have an existing P2P network (2 Vista, 1 Mac Book and this Ub' desktop/server) running already which uses the Router for DNS. I suspect I am going to have to do things in a certain order if I am not going to go backwards and ruin the families email and surfing!

Server :: Logger In ZImbra Dies Out And Never Starts

Oct 30, 2010

Got a Zimbra server FOSS edition running on CentOS5.5. Everything was running fine until couple of days just found out that web administration interface just does not give the proper status. Web console says that none of the services are running which infact is not true. Only service that is not running is logger. This is the zmcontrol status output

Code:

antispam Running
antivirus Running
imapproxy Running
ldap Running

[code]....

Just the logger service is not running all the others are. But web admin interface shows all are stopped. Also it can be seen that zmlogswatchctl is not running. Starting it manually does not do any good. It does not start and it dies out by itself.I tried to google and found a couple of bugs related to logger and web interface but those were old and should have been done in this version 6.

Server :: Sendmail To Split Single Envelope Into Multiple To - Addresses

Aug 4, 2010

Our system uses email to send fairly time-sensitive status messages between programs running on various servers on a WAN. Each email message is sent to two addresses (different servers). The problem occurs when one of the destination mail servers is off the network. I think because it's trying to send one email to two addresses, sendmail attempts delivery to the first address, then to the second address (i.e., serially). When this happens, it hangs for two connect timeout (CONNECT_TO) periods trying to connect to the offline destination, then after the timeout, it then delivers to the other destination. I'm trying to figure out how to work around that connection delay so it doesn't delay delivery to the other destination.

I'm working with the network guys to enable the right ICMP messages that signal when a network is unavailable, but I would also like to try having sendmail split the emails into two envelopes, then use parallel, independent connections for delivery.

After days of reading through the docs (O'Rielly Sendmail book + sendmail docs) I think one way to do this is to use multiple mail queues, but I can't decipher exactly how to do that from the docs.

There might be other, more elegant ways to do the same thing, but again, trying to decipher the docs has my head swimming. (This is my first experience with sendmail.)

CentOS 5 Server :: Postfix And Hosts File - The Mail Server Could Not Deliver Mail

Mar 20, 2011

I've setup my server by following a ton of goods, and it seems to work ok, but I need to start using my server for email in order to receive orders placed via my website. I've followed this guide - [URL] I followed the steps above, and tested the mail server via telnet, and all seemed to be ok. I tried sending an email via Squirrelmail, from cs@thinclientwarehouse.co.uk TO my working email simon@c1systems.co.uk, but the server returned with the following message:

Debian Configuration :: Install A Multi-core System And Configure It To Run Several VMs, One Each For A Firewall, A Caching Proxy Server, A Mail Server, A Web Server?

Jan 25, 2011

I will be relocating to a permanent residence sometime in the next year or two. I've recently begun thinking about the best way to implement a home-based network. It occurred to me that the most elegant solution might be the use of VM technology to eliminate as much hardware and wiring as possible. My thinking is this: Install a multi-core system and configure it to run several VMs, one each for a firewall, a caching proxy server, a mail server, a web server. Additionally, I would like to run 2-4 VMs as remote (RDP)workstations, using diskless workstations to boot the VMs over powerline ethernet. The latest powerline technology (available later this year) will allow multiple devices on a residential circuit operating at near gigabit speed, just like legacy wired networks.

In theory, the above would allow me to consolidate everything but the disklessworkstations on a single server and eliminate all wired (and wireless) connections except the broadband connection to the Internet and the cabling to the nearest power outlets. It appears technically possible, but I'm not sure about the various virtual connections among VMs. In theory, each VM should be able to communicate with the other as if it was on the same network via the server data bus, but what about setting up firewall zones? Any internal I/O bandwidth bottlenecks? Any other potential "gotchas", caveats, issues? (Other than the obvious requirement of having enough CPU and RAM).Any thoughts or observations welcome, especially if they are from real world experience in a VM environment. BTW--in case you're wondering why I'm posting here, it's because I run Debian on all my workstations/servers (running VirtualBox as a VM for Windows XP on one workstation).

Server :: E-mail Server Similer To Merak Mail Server ?

Aug 20, 2010

I was using an email server from Icewarp, Merak Mail server V8.0.3 with a keygen for total full free use... I liked this server package... as everything is in there I need and it is controllable from a single window. Now I am planning to move to Linux... They have a Linux version, but not stable and expensive. Is there any thing almost free/less expensive (Specially they need yearly payment for upgrade of even the anti virus and anti spam)?

I need a almost same thing (except of the ftp and VoIP) like Merak (because that I really liked for ease of administration) in Linux? Like a Qmail with real strong Anti Virus and Anti Spam, with unlimited domain and user+autoresponder, mailing list, etc all but controllable from one single GUI?
