when i am checking filesystem under my linux server, i observer my nfs mount point is showing two times,
i cant reboot the server until i get the downtime from the customer, does this repeated mount makes any problem

I would like to know when usb inserted, its showing cant mount when i clicked details its showing bad blocks in beginning , and smething in /dev/sd6. Can i knw why usb drive cant be mounted automatically , even if its set to do so, and to cope the error mentioned above

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have the follwoing fenomenan. In my /etc/fstab I have an entry to automatically mount my NAS. Here is my entry:
192.168.1.10:/mnt/array1/My_NAS /media/My�40NAS nfs _netdev,
auto,rw,hard,users,intr 0 0
When my laptop boots it successfully mounts the NFS NAS and I get an icon "My NAS" on my dekstop that points to the NAS. If I double click on the icon it opens my file browser and I can browse thru my NAS fodlers.
What I see on the left hand side of the file browser is that I have to entries for My NAS. One of it has a button to shows that it is mounted and the other does not.
If I go to Places I also see 2 entries for "My NAS". One of it takes me to browsing the NAS and if I click on the other it says "Unable to mount ... busy or already mounted". Which makes sense.
Both server (web01), in DMZ, and client (app01), intranet, are Linux OEL5.5.
A few hints follows:
1- I ssh to web01, in DMZ, from a intranet machine on my desktop, export my DISPLAY, and try to bring up xclock; nothing happens.
2- traceroute from web01 to app01 fails.
3- NFS mount from web01, nfs server, to nfs client, app01, fails.
How should my network configuration on web01 or app01 be to make this NFS mount from web01 to app01 work?Each server has 4 NICs, I've only used eth0.
My systemd-udev-settle.service is failing for some reason.

This is my first problem since I use ubuntu the problem is: Ubuntu does not mount any DVD and it recognize all the dvds as blank, I believe its a problem of drivers but I am not sure, besides I tried medibuntu.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm having a problem accessing files via nfs where an iso has been mounted through the loop device on the nfs server. Basically what I am attempting to do is access the 6 CentOS 5.2 ISO's via NFS from one of my client machines. The client is able to mount the share and see its sub directories leading up to the mount point of the ISO, but the contents of the mounted ISO image are simply not visible (on the client, they are visible on the server).
Server config (CentOS 5):

NFS is working correctly for other mounts between these two boxes, however.
Having one issue with evolution not showing html websites showing up in email like verizon sending a promo. I have gone to edit, preferences, mail preferences, html messages and have always load images from the internet chosen. I have also added sender to contacts. Even if I right click message and tell it to dload images it doesn't.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to connect a projector to my laptop (already running) and hit the fn+f7 (the designated button for switching screen), nothing happens. I see "no source found" on projector screen and my laptop screen works perfectly. Now if I restart the laptop with the projector connected, I see all the intial booting messages on the projector screen (not on my laptop), then the gnome login screen appears on both the projector screen and laptop (when the login screen appears on laptop it looks like it has lower resolution than my usual laptop resolution). But immediately after I log in, my laptop screen goes blank, and projector screen becomes the only active screen.
If I restart without the projector, again all normal operation on laptop screen is restored.
I feel like I am missing some very silly options. Any help is appreciated.

I have bumped into a rather bizarre problem on a redhat system at work:I have mapped 10 LUNS to a server.The server has 2 HBAs, but the luns were mapped only to 1 HBA,and only one HBA is connected with a fibre cable.Every lun has only 1 path,the storage array management software (hitachi storage)confirms this.However, instead of 10 luns, I am seeing 40 luns!

What I mean by this are two things:
1. When the computer boots and asks me to pick Linux or another operating system, how do I change the time down, since I don't really need 2 minutes to choose the only operating system I have...
2. When the computer shuts down, and gives me 30 seconds to cancel or not (this is with a GUI), how do I reduce that time to 0?
what's happened. I now have to log-in 7 times (at least) before I can finally get in to fedora 11. It only started happening at the week-end after a patch was installed. what's going on?

How do I prevent this from continuing and why is it happening? If possible I don't want to invoke iptables as my NAT router does a fine firewall job.

I've upgraded(?) to TB3.1 from the Mozilla repo and instead of a single panel for the password, I get at least 3. The record so far is 6! Going back to 3.0.5 returns to a single panel. I need to stick with 3.1 as a parallel upgrade to Lightning 1.0b2 means 1.0b1 will not work. How to get back to a single password entry?

Ubuntu just mounts once, no issues like mentioned above. This is standard 11.3 installation, where should I look for the cause?
i just installed 11.3 from live cd--after a recent update basically wiped my whole 11.2 setup into oblivion...i want to say that i like 11.3 better, however, i have not had a chance to even use it.......after installation, and then updating and adding repos, i tried to install a couple programs through yast. on the three occasions of trying, the computer crashed--screen goes blank, the CAP/NUM lock lights flash on and off...i tried to install adobe reader from their site two times, and the same thing happened twice--screen goes blank, the CAP/NUM lock lights flash on and off.i'm just beginning to get my computer back in order, after my 11.2 died.and since installing 11.3, i can even begin to begin!
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am noticing really odd behaviour after upgrading from 8.10 to 9.10 (via 9.04). My server frequently becomes unreachable. I am using it as an application server, running Apache, JBoss and MySql. Once the server goes idle, all web connections time out. SSH also times out. Usually the server wakes up on second SSH attempt and then everything: Web, SSH etc seems to run fine.
This is a server machine with no GUI. Can anyone point me to power management or other such settings I can tune from commandline? I have disabled power management by adding kernel parameter acpi=off. I still have the problem. The first network connection after the machine has gone idle takes a long time. All later connections run pretty smoothly.
Why does barrybackup only work some of the times? I can charge my blackberry and run a backup of it some of the times but I can never figure it out. It either works or I get the error "(-110, No error): Timeout in usb_bulk_read. There is no rhyme or reason to when it does or does not work. It does not work more than it does work.
