Red Hat / Fedora :: Cant Access My Site. Forbidden You Don't Have Permission To Access / On This Server
Feb 9, 2010
Have no idea what I am doing operating a server. Our programmer got a new job and I am the one who has to take it over. Everything was fine til yesterday. You see I made a control panel to easier update the site www(dot)discoverysound(dot)com
but yesterday when I went to update the site I got an error called fopen. I thought I fixed it (and boy did I ever) but now I cannot get to my site because it says Forbidden You don't have permission to access / on this server. Apache/2.0.47 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.0.47 OpenSSL/0.9.7a DAV/2 PHP/4.3.3RC4-dev Server at www(dot)discoverysound(dot)comPort 80.
installation moodle on Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS.at localhost show message It works!at localhost/moodle show message Forbidden You don't have permission to access /moodle on this server.
before i using fedora 14, i was used fedora 8.... no problem in setting web server, all client (windows XP) can access my resources in var/www/html/index.html but after upgrade to fedora 14.... this is a problem
"forbidden you don't have permission to access.... apache/2.2.16 (Fedora) server at 192.168.1.1 port 80" i had disable firewall also set SELinux to permissive
Basicly just installed a fresh version of Cent OS 5.4 with apache httpd installed automaticly during the installation. The http daemon is running and when navigating to localhost i get the welcome cent os apache page thingy. The problem is when i put an index.html file in /var/http/www then try and navigation to localhost I get a 403 forbidden error.
I don't have permission to access [URL]. I can access [URL] only local. I configured local and network access in /etc/httpd/conf.d/nagios.conf. My access_log: "GET /nagios HTTP/1.1" 403 334 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (X11;U;Linux i686; en-US; en -US; rv:1.9.1.9) Gecko/2010100330 Fedora/3.5.9-1 fc11 Firefox/3.5.9" "GET /vavicon.ico HTTP/1.1" 404 335 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 X11;U;Linux i686; en-US; en -US; rv:1.9.1.9) Gecko/2010100330 Fedora/3.5.9-1 fc11 Firefox/3.5.9" My error_log: suEXEC mechanism enabled (wrapper: /usr/sbin/suexec)

drwxrwxrwx 2 root root 1368064 Mar 10 18:28 monitor drwxrwxrwx 7 root root 12288 Feb 18 17:07 monitorDONE
I have created one short cut link for this folder with below command :
ln -s monitorDONE recordings lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 11 Mar 13 14:30 recordings -> monitorDONE This link is under /var/www/html Now, when I do IP/recordings It show me an Error as Forbidden You don't have permission to access /recordings on this server.
I have installed Redmine according to the instructions on [url] according to the mod_cgi instructions which seem to be the easiest to follow.
The script installed in the installation directory was called 'dispatch.fcgi', and not parsing when I visited the page through the browser, just displaying the contents of the script. OK, so I installed the apache mod libapache2-mod-fastcgi using apt-get. Then 'a2enmod fcgid' followed by an apache restart.
Now when I visit the Redmine folder through the web browser I get 'Forbidden You don't have permission to access /redmine/dispatch.fcgi on this server.'
I checked to ensure www-data owns all files and has correct permissions to the folder. But this doesn't seem to work.
Using httpd - everything usually works but I have written a cgi script and placed in cgi-bin but i cannot access this dir and keep getting forbidden messages. I have tried adding my root and usual user to the /etc/group file against the user stipulated in the httpd.conf file but i still can't access the cgi script i wrote (in browser - localhost/cgibin/myscrippt.cgi) when i place it in the cgi-bin under htdocs. i have also chmod 755 directory and files.
I am installing Big Brother on a CentOS 5.2 running the default Apache 2.2.3. When I try to access any web page I get the following error: Forbidden You don't have permission to access /bb/ on this server. Apache/2.2.3 (CentOS) Server at fmsubbnix Port 80 So far I have:
1) Set the Directory options to FollowSymLinks 2) Verified all directory and file permissions are at 755 3) Set permissions temporarily to 777 and received same error so I am assuming the issue is in a config file somewhere 4) in hhtpd.conf verified <Files ~ "^.ht"> is correct 5) verified the "default" directory is correct (/var/www/html)
I have read and tried several ideas in posts listed on the web but to no avail and am at a loss as to what to look for next..
Nagios - forbidden you dont have access to this server I had made following changes on httpd.conf file: ScriptAlias /nagios/cgi-bin/ "/usr/local/nagios/sbin/" <Directory "/usr/local/nagios/sbin/"> AllowOverride AuthCongig Options ExecCGI Order allow, deny Allow from all </Directory> Alias /nagios/ "/usr/local/nagios/share/" <Directory "/usr/local/nagios/share/"> Options None AllowOverride AuthCongig Order allow, deny Allow from all </Directory>
running Ubuntu 10.10 and mozilla and seamonkey... Tried to access a website: [URL] and got the error: The page cannot be displayed You have attempted to execute a CGI, ISAPI, or other executable program from a directory that does not allow programs to be executed. Please try the following: Contact the Web site administrator if you believe this directory should allow execute access. HTTP Error 403.1 - Forbidden: Execute access is denied. In the office there is a local network with samba+openldap PDC. The local domain name is company.net. The company desided to create a corporate Website on a remote hosting and desided that the site's domain should be company.net which is same as local network's domain name. So now it is not possible to reach that corporate website from within the company's local network because, as I guess, bind9 which is installed on above menioned PDC looks for company.net on a local webserver. Is there a possibility to let people from this local network browse the remote site?
I have start apache, and can see my site on 127.0.0.1, but I have router and don't know how to check my site from outside (Internet bellow). I have no domain name registered. Just want to check web server.
That should be easy. (or not?)
The router has static IP xxx.xxx.xxx.239 from the my internet provider and assign 192.168.1.100 to my computer.
I installed samba server in my external HDD. But it is not shown in system ----> Administration. Is there any problem. Then How to give permission to access home folder.
I'm going away for the weekend and will only be able to bring my laptop that has the latest release of Ubuntu on it. My question is: will i be able to access my company's Terminal Server site [URL] from browser in Linux, and be able to launch the applications? (Outlook, etc.) Seems to connect to Windows Server 2008. If this works in Linux, that would make my life a lot easier..
Slow access to web site using squid and Internet explorer.I am trying to troubleshoot an issue I am stuck on. We have a website that is loading .htm documents extremely slow when using Internet Explorer 8 behind Squid. When we bypass the proxy and go directly out to the internet all is fast and pages load fine. But when the proxy is on documents will take sometimes up to 6 minutes to load. This issue is only apparent using Internet explorer 8.I do not see the issue when using firefox with Squid.I have tried to use the no_cache directive thinking it may have been the cache but that didn't work either.I am attaching our access.log, store.log and squid.conf.
Instead of doing this by actually changing the apache directory, I simply put in a symlink from the WWW directory. This worked many times, but today, under Maverick, I got the following error : "Forbidden You don't have permission to access / on this server."I spent a LOT of time on the web trying to solve this error and in the end, it got solved simply by enabling permissions "access" to "others" direclty on my home folder (because my Dropbox folder is, of course, within my home folder). However, I have no idea if this is a good idea. Does this mean that simply anyone could access any file on my computer ??Alternatively, does anyone know how I could proceed to make this LAMP server work WITHOUT having to change my Home directy permissions this way ?
I've done a search and tried a few things as follows,I can not access the Fedora project.org web site from home comp using either Unbuntu 11.04 and fire fox, or Windows 7 and I.E.all I get is can't acess site when it times out.Following a posting on this site i tried the command host fedoraproject.org the output i got was "none' rather than some IPs as the person posting got.I want to switch from unbuntu to Fedora because it is what Ken Mayer uses to illustrate in his Linux + vids and I've found Unbuntu does not contain all the commands.
I'm new with Samba and have access problem with Samba on Rhel 5. I want to share iso directory, and user admin can read and write while user bill can read only. smb.conf file looks like this#======================= Global Settings =====================================
i was install ubuntu server with desktop and when i try to open my ip adress in browse it show me this Forbidden
You don't have permission to access this file on this server. Cheyenne/2.2.8 Server at localhost Port 80.how can i fix it.My IP address is 88.163.109.209, you can see the directory forbidden error if you type in my IP address.
I am trying to browse in /var/www/directory and it giving me a following error. Forbidden You don't have permission to access /directory/ on this server. Apache/2.2.14 (Ubuntu)Server at localhost Port 80 I have just copied that directory to /var/www. What might be wrong.
I don't know is this the right place to ask, but i must ask some questions Here's my problem.I'm a student in highscool, and here we use Linux(ubuntu) OS .Every classroom has like 30 PC's connected with the main computer(the teacher's one) so....3 days ago we were forbidden access to some websites it says This domain is Blocked.By the way the Linux version installed is 7.04(feisty Fawn) i tried disable cookies that did not worked, also tried to whitelist some website, that also didn't worked out
Today I delete the default web page of my local web server (using apache). & replace it with a new index.html (the same name as the old one). But when I tried to browse it , the browser says :
Code: Forbidden You don't have permission to access /index.html on this server. Apache/2.2.11 (Fedora) Server at bobup.oicp.net Port 80
This page of title says : 403 Forbidden . I rebooted and tried to configure apache , but it doesn't work .
I am trying to configure CUPS and when I click on Adminitrator to Add A Printer, I get Forbidden after entering my root username and password. Anything I'm doing wrong?? In the past, it was just a matter of putting my username and password and walking though the installation. The printer is connected to the computer via USB and is being seen on the machine.
I'm a refugee from WindowsXP, running Fedora 14 with three user accountsMy problem is that I need the primary user (userd 500) to be able to have full access all other users' files in their home directories so that user can copy, move, delete, etc.I tried making that user a member of the other users' groups - but I still get the 'not got permission' error when I try to access their home directories
I am on mac os x and whenever I make aliases in my apache config file to point to folders outside of main web document root folder, I get access forbidden. I have chmod -R 777 the whole destination directory (to test it) and still no go. Access forbidden. I have also tried pointing directly to [URL].
I've just upgraded my laptop to Fedora 14 and installed LAMP on it for a test environment. I've followed the official instructions to install but seem to have a problem that I didn't have on F13 or Opensuse. Each time I try to access index.php on localhost I get a permission denied message and an SElinux alert. I have tried 7 different solutions on various forums and just can't view anything in a browser.
/var/www/html has been set to chmod 777 /var/www/html/index.php has also been set to chmod 777
A standard user can definitely read and write to the above files/folder. Until I commented it out the Welcome/Test page was working perfectly.
