I'm writing simple programs using C++ on CodeBlocks, now I got stuck on a bus reservation program which need the following header files

My question is how to dowload all these in interface folder instead of downloading one by one? Tried googling but no success.

I'm hitting my head against the wall trying to figure out (and find any information on) how to download a package and all its dependencies.I've tried to clean the cache,$ sudo apt-get clean and then download a package and its depednencies,but it doesn't download dependencies that are already installed.I need to do this to install a package on a machine that doesn't see the net.I remember doing this somehow ages ago, and I think I might have even combined the package and its dependencies into a single self-contained .deb using dpkg.

I'm trying to install debian in my surface pro but I can't get the network card configured. I installed Arch before and it's wpa_supplicant package was working just fine until the last update. I was wondering if I could download the wpa_supplicant for debian and all it's dependencies from my windows OS to be able to configure my wireless card properly in Debian.

I'm working on a script called "populator". This script will be run on a linux box with the single purpose to download a set of packages (i.e. "ubuntu-desktop" metapackage) to trigger the caching by a deb-proxy. The reason is to pre-cache the proxy in advance, thus reducing the amount of time to install the first production Linux box, not necessarily going to be installed immediately after deb-proxy deployment. As for now, the script is extremely rough and simple:
1. clean the apt-get cache
2. run apt-get install with specified parameters to force reinstall, download only, output urls
3. pass the url list to wget and throw everything in /dev/null
with the specified parameters the script does the job. The only problem regards dependency handling: they are downloaded just the first time, even after apt-cache clean. I need apt-get to re-download dependencies as well. THIS is the real need.

is there a way to get urls of the packages that have been updated and then download them in another computer? like this feature of ubuntu HOWTO: Download package dependencies for offline installation - Ubuntu Forums
its a simple feature and its present in smart and synaptic,yet its not in yast (or i havent found it yet.
i would use smart package manager but in my home connection for checking for updates ,yast is better ( smart downloads filelist.xml.gz that is very way biger than what yast downloads (though it enables smart to show filelist of package BEFORE installing) .so at home i can check for package update with yast ,buy downloading them is very hard. (my connectioon is very bad (i live in iran) and yast mirrors are NOT the best of servers ,so yast gets interrupted in middle downloading a rpm and the whole process is waiting for me to press retry ,so i cant do updates and installs overnight.btw is there some way to tell it to retry always or a number of times automatically? )
i need the url links of rpms so i download them separately and install them.

How to make simple games (snake, pong... nothing too fancy). I have completed making snake and now want to be able to distribute it. I built it using C++ and wxWidgets so it would be multi-platform. I'm able to compile it and run it in both Windows and Ubuntu using g++. In windows, I was able to distribute it by putting a *.dll file in the same folder as the executable. However in Linux, I don't understand what I need to do so that it would run on any installation of Ubuntu out of the "box". When I build it and try to run it in a different installation of Ubuntu (which has g++) it gives me an error saying that a particular library file was not found and Getlibs fails to find that library file.
Is there a way to build a project with G++ so that all the dependencies are either packaged in the executables or copied into the folder....?

I have a cluster script (CentOS 5.4) and I need a UPS for a shutdown. It should look like this ... The first node must wait until the second node has completed several actions and has been completely shut down. So I need a script with a shutdown wait until the other node is ... I was thinking of a test using ping. Alternatively, I would also have an IPMI interface. However, the "pause" may last a maximum of 10 minutes ... Then the wait must be ended.

I am still have trouble installing software on Ubuntu (having just returned to it after a long hiatus). Three of the games from the Humble Indie Bundle ('And Yet It Moves', 'Revenge of the Titans' and 'Osmos') were easy installs as I just had to go through the double-click .deb > Software Centre procedure.
However, 'VVVVVV' is a tar.gz, 'Braid' is a run.bin, 'Minecraft' is a .jar (I get its Java, but how do I get it into the games menu?), 'Hammerfight' is a .bin, 'Zombie Atom Smasher' is a .tar and the rest have the same file extensions.
So a few questions: How do I go about installing these? Why aren't they all .deb? And how do you keep the above installs clean? By clean installation I mean they go to the correctly allotted place (so usr/games rather than the home folder and appear within the Applications > Games menu), are easy to uninstall without leaving crap behind and lastly are easy to update.
I understand that this is a nooby question, but I really want to stick with Ubuntu and as long as I feel completely in control of what I am installing/uninstalling than I will be a lot happier.

I was trying to install vmware.bundle file, and found a terminal command that helped me install the program.
su
chmod +x VM*.bundle
./VM*.bundle
I was just curious what the command chmod was for? Just trying to understand the terminal a little better.

On Debian, if I want to compile some package X myself, but I don't want to spend time hunting down and installing its dependencies, I can issue the following command:

And apt (so long as it knows about package X) will install all the dependencies for me.Does the yum package manager on RedHat-based systems have a similar feature?

Why do I get an error when trying to do a simple install command?I'm trying to install VMware player 3.1.0 on Ubuntu 9.10 After logging in to the terminal and changing directory to the folder containing the VM player bundle file, I used the following command:
sudo sh VMware-Player-3.1.0-261024.i386.bundle
It then prompts me for the password:

After entering the password it then returns the error:

My boss is looking to use Linux for an embedded device that will require some 2D graphical output. Ideally I'd want to do this without the use of X.
Ideally what we are looking for is something that is easy to program for and could execute without initializing an x-windows system. If we do need to program inside of X what would be the best approach for creating a full-screen dedicated 2D interface?

I have all of the code written for a text based game but how big of a leap is it from text to graphics? lets just say a 2d engine. Is this a fairly easy task or would it be a bit of effort?
