Programming :: Deleted Gawk And Now Nothing Will Configure?

Oct 27, 2010

So unbeknownst to me until today, but apparently all configure scripts rely on some version of awk to create the Makefile when config.status is run.how to get gawk reinstalled?I have compiled one on Ubuntu and copied it to my other machine but when run it throws the error:Code:./gawk: no such file or directorySo I am guessing I either need to create a static copy or maybe also copy the libs created from compile with it.

Programming :: Gawk -- Print In A New Line Without Overwriting?

Sep 20, 2010

I have a directory where there are folders and in them some .txt data files. I am trying to output a .txt file with the folder name and the number of .txt files in it using gawk. However, when I run my shell program, because print is nested in a "while" loop, gawk overwrites what's already saved in the output file. I want gawk to print "new" output in a new line without overwriting the already existing text in the output fil

#! /bin/sh

Programming :: Gawk Getline Eats Next Line For Processing?

Mar 19, 2011

I'm working on a simple data processing script. My script uses a loop with getline to check for the value on the next line to decide if it's time to terminate the loop. This works dandy, but the problem is that getline eats that line, which then isn't processed by the rules in the remainder of the script (even though I want it to be). To illustrate what I mean, consider this simple gawk script:

Code:
{
print $0

Programming :: Logging What Files Are Deleted?

Sep 29, 2010

I'm deleting logs after they are backed up. The line below in a script is doing it but I'd like to print the list of files that are deleted into a log file. I tried printf at the end but can't seem to get it to work. I'm not sure how to output that at the end of the string. Also I was looking at man find man and the difference btween -exec and -execdir. I don't understand what it's saying. Is -execdir executing rm m within the /opt/temp/logs directory the difference?

Ubuntu :: Deleted Files On USB Drive Not Actually Deleted?

Jun 7, 2010

I searched the forum with various terms and didn't find anything, so my apologies if this is a common and/or newbie problem. It seems that when I have a USB driveplugged in to switch the files around, those that I delete are still taking up space. I first noticed it with a Chinese MP3 player and thought it was the player being crappy. I could still play all the songs that were supposedly gone. Today, I noticed it with a little thumb drive that I've had for years. I plugged it into my husband's computer running winXP, and the files showed up in a weird, unusable form. I was able to delete them for real.

Linux will do it much faster but then there is a difference in the cpu load time. What I want to know is is there anyway I can interupt the processor so that the load does not go beyond 1.0.

Programming :: Generating Makefile Ans Configure Script ?

May 17, 2011

I know how to manually writing a makefile for my project, but I am new in using makefile & configure file generation tools like automake to generate a makefile and a configure script file.

I had done research on tutorials for generating makefile and configure script file.

I know that I need to manually write two files (makefile.am and configure.in).

I use wxWidgets GUI library, libconfig library, and libpcap library to do my project.

wx-config is a tool that can return the library files and include directory for wxWidgets library.

When using g++ to compile my files, I need to add in this line "`/wxlib/bin/wx-config --version=2.9 --static=yes --unicode=yes --debug=yes --libs`"

How to add that line to the makefile.am file?

Programming :: Specify A Library Search Path To Configure's AC_CHECK_LIB?

Aug 31, 2010

I'm writing an application and want to make possible to compile it with or without an optional module. This module requires perl library to be compiled, so I want to check presence of it in 'autoconf'.

The problem exists because perl library is placed in 'non-standart' location itself (like a /usr/lib64/perl5/CORE/libperl.so). So when I try to run configure (with AC_CHECK_LIB or AC_SEARCH_LIBS), it cannot find and link libperl.so in its test.

Trying to pass ./configure CFLAGS=-L/usr/lib64/perl5/CORE/ or ./configure LDFLAGS=-L/usr/lib64/perl5/CORE/

How can I define a location to search for configure's tests?

OpenSUSE :: Configure / Syncing The Conduits Through The "Configure Kpilot" Menu Item

Feb 8, 2010

kpilot worked just fine with my Palm Tungsten T3 on OpenSuse 10.3. I recently upgraded to 11.2 and have had numerous problems. It took me a while to get the hardware talking (documented in another thread), but now the sync is proving to be problematic. A hotsync happens - and I can also sync fully with jpilot, but the sync isn't going anywhere. I'm hoping to sync with kontact, but it's impossible to tell as kpilot hangs whenever I try to configure the conduits through the "Configure kpilot" menu item. When syncing, the log complains of missing conduits:

Version: KPilot 5.3.0 (KDE 4.3.0)
Version: pilot-link 0.12.3
Version: KDE 4.3.1 (KDE 4.3.1) "release 6"
