OpenSUSE :: What "opensuse Firefox Extensions" Is?

Mar 19, 2010

is anyone able to tell me what the "opensuse firefox extensions" is or are?and what does it mean by "desktop integration"?outside of its listing in my firefox addons, i am not sure if i am aware of its actual functioning presence.i ask because something is freezing/crashing my system from time to time.it's happened variously with firefox, dolphin, and ktorrent, as well pulling up my autohidden panel...sometimes they'll do it on their own, or, for instance, when i try to open firefox or dolphin while running ktorrent. this has happened more than a few times, but it has frozen under a few other circumstances besides these mentioned.

OpenSUSE :: Shell Extensions Crashing Gnome 3

Jun 2, 2011

GNOME 3 issues, I got everything figured out and was trying to get some extensions installed. I successfully installed the alternative shutdown menu and the applications menu. I tried to install alternate-tab and user-theme and they both caused gnome3 to boot into IceWM...I removed all the folders from /usr/share/gnome-shell/extensions and home/<user>/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions and it fixed it. I read somewhere about them being outdated if a GNOME 3 update was released.

The two extensions I did install were from New GNOME Shell Extensions That Provide A GNOME2-Like User Experience ~ Web Upd8: Ubuntu / Linux blog and not the GNOME 3 website. The extensions that crashed GNOME were from all over, INCLUDING the GNOME website. I'd like to get the system monitor and a weather applet in the panel and the alternate-tab and change themes but I can't find any that work. [URL]. I tried to use the themeselector extension from here and I think another one or two, however, they were also a few that crashed my GNOME...

OpenSUSE :: Gnome Shell Extensions Available In Stable Repository

Apr 29, 2011

The gnome-shell-extensions have been accepted into the stable repository and should appear soon along with an updated gnome-shell. Now, if you installed the extensions for my factory branch whilst I was working on the extensions, you need to remove the repository and remove the installed packages as there have been some name changes to the extensions. I don't recommend the xrandr extension, it will crash the shell! If you do try it, you only need to do a ctrl+alt+F1 and login as root user and zypper rm, logout and ctrl+alt+F7 and login.

OpenSUSE :: Mozilla Seamonkey 2.1 Update - Unable To Use Some Add-ons Or Extensions

Jun 12, 2011

Today I did the Seamonkey 2.1 update. I found out that some of the add-ons or extensions did not work. They were disabled, due to incompatible versions. I found out a simple solution. I hope this helps some. This helped me with the Webdeveloper, fxif and Novell Moonlight extensions. In the file install.rdf is an element called MaxVersion. Change this to 2.1.* and the extensions work again.

The file install.rdf is to be found in ~/.mozilla/seamonkey/user-thingies.default/extensions/{extensioncode}

The changed code for Moonlight looks like this:

Code:

<Description>
<em:id>{92650c4d-4b8e-4d2a-b7eb-24ecf4f6b63a}</em:id>
<em:minVersion>2.0b1</em:minVersion>
<em:maxVersion>2.1.*</em:maxVersion>
</Description>

Good luck if you are a Seamonkey user.

OpenSUSE :: PHP Startup: Unable To Load Dynamic Library '/usr/lib/php5/extensions/intl.so'

Aug 20, 2011

few days ago i installed the newest opensuse 11.4 32bit system and all is working really fine.except when starting apache or doing a php -v on the CLI i receive the following error ->

php -v
PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library
'/usr/lib/php5/extensions/intl.so' - /usr/lib/php5/extensions/intl.so:
undefined symbol: grapheme_extract_count_iter in Unknown on line 0

i know this bug has been reported earlier and i found quite a few results in google.i even found one result where the problem was fixed and updated in an additional opensuse repository -> Additional package repositories - openSUSE the repository with the fix is the following -> Index of /repositories/server:/php/openSUSE_11.4 so ... i added this repository via YAST to the repositories in my system without any problems but whenever i do a system update via YAST i don't receive new fixes and patches from the newly added repository!

if i directly browse to the /i586 folder in the repository i see all the PHP updates with version 5.3.7 and the latest updates were done 19 aug 2011 Index of /repositories/server:/php/openSUSE_11.4/i586 but my system still has PHP version 5.3.5 installed and somehow doesn't want to update from the newly added repository for the apache php modules so ... i just double checked and the repository is enabled in YAST ... but I still don't receive updates from there i would like to update to the new apache php modules, to get rid of that php '/usr/lib/php5/extensions/intl.so' warning, but somehow that doesn't seem to work

Ubuntu :: How To Install Firefox Extensions For All Users

May 17, 2010

I am wondering the "new way" to install firefox extensions for all users.

From [URL] we can see that the "old way" is no longer available.

-install-global-extension and -install-global-theme have been removed from Gecko 1.9.2 and upwards.

I'm using the Lucid UNE to write this and note that it has these extensions installed for every user:

I searched the entire root filesystem and didn't find any .xpi files.

Software :: Firefox Extensions Not Applied On Downgrade?

Dec 5, 2008

I was using firefox 3.X (latest) until recently but it irked for two reasons:

- it takes forever for everything

- it kept crashing (as in really really often)

first I got rid of some extensions to save some thinking energy, but didn't help much, so I downgraded and am now running 2.0 silly thing is, none of my extensions work - they seem to be 'registered' to FF3 (which I purged) This also applies to new addons installed from FF2.

OpenSUSE :: KDE And Firefox Do Not Play Well Together

Jan 15, 2011

I keep running into a problem with KDE crashing when using the search bar in Firefox.

For some unknown reason, something gets set in the Firefox profile that will cause KDE to crash when a few chars are typed into the search bar in Firefox's upper right corner. When this situation occurs, I can log on to Gnome, and use the search bar with no problem. This is something related to KDE only.

The temporary solution is to delete my Firefox profile. This fixes the problem initially, but returns after a few weeks of web browsing. Deleting my browser profile every two weeks is NOT much fun!

Firefox level is 3.6.13. KDE is 4.4.4. Suse is 11.3. I do NOT have Moonlight installed.

OpenSUSE :: Why Firefox 4 Freeze In 11.4

Apr 11, 2011

Firefox 4 freeze in openSUSE-11.4? Mine freezes randomly, it seems, on opening links in new tabs. I don't think it's Flash as it happens on any web site, even without flash (e.g. like this forum). I've updated to the latest version from the Mozilla repo but it still freezes. The only option is to kill it and restart it. So I use Chromium at the moment. But I prefer Firefox.

PS I don't have any Firefox 4 problems in WinXP at work. And I think I haven't yet had a freeze on my Intel laptop or Atom netbook (maybe I haven't used them long enough), looks like it may be something to do with 64-bits (AMD)? But I may be wrong.

I remember that, in a previous KDE 4.x version, it insisted on Konqueror and I somehow got rid of that but can't remember how. how I can use the plasmoid to use Chrome?
