I am in the process of writing a web-application using apache,mod-python and cheetah. I installed apache2, mod-python and cheetah and also enabled the userdir module in apache2 so that i can host the webpages inside my public_html folder.
The public_html folder has a folder named 'site' which gets displayed when I type "url" in the browser. There are subfolders inside this 'site' folder and the site folder also has an index.html page inside it.
But when I click on the site folder in the browser, I get a 'Requested url /~myusername/site/ not found'. There are files inside the folder with 777 permissions and still I get this error.
I use Ubuntu Jaunty with the following configuration - 'Apache/2.2.11 (Ubuntu) PHP/5.2.6-3ubuntu4.1 with Suhosin-Patch mod_python/3.3.1 Python/2.6.2 Server at localhost Port 80'.
These are the lines I have added to the /etc/apache2/sites-available/default file
<Directory "/home/myusername/public_html/site/"> SetHandler mod_python PythonHandler mod_python.publisher PythonDebug On PythonAutoReload On
I just reinstalled opensuse 11.4 on a lenovo ideapad. The install went well and afterwards I was installing other packages. In the midst of this I started getting a error both from the gui software management package and zypper.(I tried zypper to see what would happen). I thought at first a simple refresh of the repos or a reboot would probably solve this but it did not.All attempts to do any software manage failsnow. The basic error is ( tail of a long list from zypper)error: error(-30987) getting "" records from Requireversion index error: db3 error(-30987) from dbcursor->c_get: DB_PAGE_NOTFOUND: Requested page not found error: error(-30987) getting "" records from Requireversion index error: db3 error(-30987) from dbcursor->c_get: DB_PAGE_NOTFOUND: Requested page not found error: error(-30987) getting "" records from Provideversion index from a zypper update and something about the same from the gui. How can I solve this?
i tried to install banshee media player using zypper but it gives me this problem
Second problem my cd writer is kinda out of order so i followed this guide (Live USB stick - openSUSE) to make a live usb stick to try out other distros...... everything went well....dd wrote everything properly.....but when i try to boot, it says thats it is a non-system disk and says to replace it strike again....so basically its not working.....
i think i followed all the instructions in the guide properly....but still i am pasting it over here (the drive was given as sdb...i checked using ls -l) umount /dev/sdb dd if=/home/arkadeep/LinuxMint-8.iso of=/dev/sdb bs=4M;sync i used linuxmint..... yeah so dd writes everything and the size is also correct. so now i can't figure out what to do...
I installed lighttpd to be able to view cgi files that display the status of my UPS. For the most part is has worked w/o incident i.e. until recently when the UPS battery failed on my APC backups xs 1500 lcd. I could not view the multimon.cgi file via the localhost or 127.0.0.1 url e.g.: [URL]... I'd get 404 page not found message. After checking links here and on the web, I tried: [URL]... The page is displayed. From this discovery, I'm not sure that this is a web server configuration or a network host configuration issue or what. I'm running Lucid with all updates, no mods to lighttpd except I added the mod_fastcgi line to the lighttpd.conf file
I looked around on the internet to find a solution, but none found.I installed apache2 on Karmic Koala and that one works. On the default page I created a link to "/home/me/Documents/folder/index.html", but when I click the link it gives me the URL not found-error.
All has been fine with my emails but today morning when i tried to log on I got an error message "You must be logged in to access this page, go to logon page" I dont understand why even when i supply my correct user name and password.
At work I have 2 PCs on a KVM switch. One windows and a centos 5.3 box. Both are connected to an ADSL service but the windows box is logged into the company VPN most of the time. The centos box comes in useful as I can get to sites the company doesn't like Anyway, today started the same as usual but later I noticed that the centos box was having problems with gmail. I tried to navigate to another site and that is the last internet site I have visited on that box! Whenever I start up firefox I can see "looking up [URL] and then the "address not found"/"page load error" screen.
So a few simple checks - ethernet cable is okay. I have a samba server running on this box so can I access a share from the windows box? Yes. I can ping from windows to linux and linux to windows okay. The only thing I can not do is access the internet which was working this morning. I tried changing the network settings - no proxy, auto detect proxy. There is no proxy server but nothing changed. So, firefox is stuffed. But the network is active.
I'm doing an upgrade of a web based application for a charity organization. To test the changes that we're making to the code, I wanted to set up a server on my home PC to host a copy of the site. I've configured apache, php and mysql like the server that's currently hosting the real app, but I have a problem:The first page is a login screen. This, of course, has a login form like so:
I installed squid on my centos and I tried to follow some guides but it still gives the same error
Quote: ERROR The requested URL could not be retrieved
While trying to retrieve the [URL]...The following error was encountered: Access Denied. Access control configuration prevents your request from being allowed at this time. Please contact your service provider if you feel this is incorrect.
ZON-BFC0 is the name presented in my wireless connection, plus the actual ip I'm using there is the ipv4 I found with a quick "ipconfig" search on DOS.
I have installed Windows 7 followed by Fedora 11. Everytime I install Fedora 11 with Win 7, the first to boot, I get BOOTMGR missing. Later I used "df -h" command to see the disk file usage fdisk -l" to see the info regarding Disk Partitions. Went into the /boot/grub/menu.lst and modified the order. I set the partition where I find the bootmgr.exe.mui, there was another file named "memtest.exe.mui in the same file.
I navigated to the above said through Fedora 11. Located inside the Win 7 installed directory /boot/en-US/
When I changed the menu.lst file, I get a new error Error 12: Invalid device requested when I tried to boot Win 7. Does that mean that Fedora 11 GRUB is not getting the bootmgr.exe.mui since its 2 levels inside the boot directory ??
Every time I upgrade my system I run a post install script. This script made some harm to the network start that prevents sshd from starting, but I was unable to detect the problem. In my boot.log I found this:
[...] Starting NetworkManager daemon: [ OK ] Starting Avahi daemon... Jun 2 14:58:48 Antares kernel: ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): eth0: link is not ready
So there is a "bind to port 22 failed" probably caused by "eth0: link is not ready", but after the sshd init script fails the eth0 is ready...
I have message: error 12: invalid device requested. It happen when i choose ubuntu partition. before this error message the netbook run perfectly with dual boot. ubuntu is 1st option winXP is 2nd option from the list(maybe grub ?) Since i want winxp as the 1st option instead ubuntu,i change the file /boot/grub/menu.lst. what exactly i change is just cut and copy the winxp part to above ubuntu part.
today there was problem with isp but we fix it now other machine run internet fine but when we run through squid proxy machine it give this message to all users. what fields column values config i should check it. i also reset the cache make empty folder. restart machine also service clear the logs . it is on centos 5.4
see below message

I have got squid 3.0 stable 13 installed on a new centos5 box .I have used it on other centos5 ones and it has worked really well.It didnt give any error messages during installation on this one until i used the proxies in the browser.I have used it on other centos5 ones and it has worked really well. But with this box I am getting this error in browser-The following error was encountered while trying to retrieve the URL:Yahoo!Socket FailureThe system returned: (99) Cannot assign requested addressSquid is unable to create a TCP socket, presumably due to excessive load. I'm running Ubuntu 9.10 and Gnome-Do 0.8.3.1. I have two issues I hope someone can help with.First I've managed to add two folders to the doc, however when I hover over the icon the name is displayed as "..." This might be because the path of the folder is "/home/eric/Desktop/500" which is a link to "/mnt/500" I cannot add the folder without the error listed below. When trying to add folders, and some applications I receive the error:
"Docky Error - Docky could not move the file to the requested Directory. check file name permissions and try again."
I try to install IPsec-Tools on Slackware 13, but I get an configure error: configure: error: Security Context requested, bu no selinux support! Aborting. I'm linux newbie and I'm following a slackware-basics tutorial, I did as in the tutorial, but the configure stops and aborts:
I'm trying to install Fedora 13 on my HP dv6 laptop and when I try to use the Use Free Space installation type, I receive a Partitioning Error: Could not allocate requested partitions - not enough free space on disks. Before I started the install, I used the Disk Management utility in Windows 7 to shrink the volume of the C: drive down to 242 GB and leaving 210 GB Unallocated. Here is what the screen looks like when I select Create Custom Layout (also receive the not enough free space error):
Recently I installed gcc-4.3.4 on my suse 11.3( I had to install it because matlab mex compiler was supported uptill gcc-4.3.4. ). It took me several mins to compile the source and installing took another hour. Now, the problem which I'm facing is as follows:1. can't open install/remove software, zypper, openoffice, firefox .. and many other applications.
zypper: /usr/local/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.11' not found (required by zypper) zypper: /usr/local/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.14' not found (required by zypper) zypper: /usr/local/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.11' not found (required by
I'm trying to install Fedora 3 Core on an old hard drive I had lying around. The problem I'm having is that when I go to manually repartition the hard drive with Disk Druid I get this error: Could not allocate requested partitions: Partitioninf Failed: Could not allocate partitions as primary partitions. I can't view the contents of the hard drive to delete stuff.
i'm a new on linux system and i have a problem with SUSE 9.1. I google for yast repositories to install "gcc" but i only see for release 10+. So i think 9.1 version it old version. The thing is that i can't upgrade the SO because it's a "sever" for some applications, and my problem is that i need to install Nagios, but when i type the ./configure command its says:
checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c checking build system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu checking host system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu checking for gcc... no checking for cc... no checking for cl.exe... no configure: error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH See `config.log' for more details.
So I decided to install packages with yast, but i can't find any active repository. I very new on this, and i don't know if i'm doing right the things. Also i don't have too much practice on english.
This is the info of the SO * uname -a: Linux noc 2.6.5-7.111-default #1 Wed Oct 13 15:45:13 UTC 2004 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

I have been trying to get access to my company server using opensuse. For that I need to have citrix access gateway working. My company has a webpage and within it a link for employee access. After putting my username and password it will start open an Citrix Access Gateway window but it won't load the applications I need. I just show in that area the message: "the page isn't redirecting properly". Note that it opens and works well in windows 7.
What I have done: -downloaded the citrix plugin for linux RPM -I downloaded and installed openmotif 32 bits (the citrix plugin is 32 bits) -I changed gnashplayer to 32 bits (after unsuccesfully trying with the default 64 bits) -I copied the certificates of my company webpage to to usr/lic/ICAclient/keystore/Cacerts with the native crt extension.I installed the citrix plugin after the previous steps.
I am not sure if I skipped something or I have to further configurate the citrix receiver. I tried doing so:going to View (in citrix receiver), click in Citrix XenApp view. I will ask me to put the url. I entered the url (the web address of my company server) but I got the message: "Citrix Xen App can not update the configuration information.
