Anyway, I've tried to install what came on the CD, with Wine, but still cant view any video. I don't need it to record from it, I just want to view the video live as it passes through. I don't even need audio, just the basic low quality video.

I'm running a java program and to debug the program instead of using a debugger I would like to look to the heap and to the bytes in the memory of the process. I was hoping that the pointers would give me a snapshot of a moment of the application. It exists a program that allow us to look to the details of a process and to the memory ram?

Now I am trying to find the best program to use to chat and view webcams on yahoo I used gyache at first but got sick of it gliching and booting me telling me people were online when they were not. So I tried Kopete and like it but cant get the webcam to work every thing works just fine I cant send invites and cant receive images. At first I was getting an error message telling me to go to a nonexistent site for help. Now it just tells me No "webcam image received" and just strait up does not send invites. I am trying to get this to work or be directed to a better program that meets my needs and how to set it up.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a system with 1 GB RAM. I'm running KDE 4. I created a tab to look that the Physical Memory in the System Monitor program, which I assume appears to look at the same stats that "top" looks at. In that Physical Memory tab I have 3 tables: Used Memory, Free Memory, and Application Memory.The Used Memory table shows that the system is using .94 of .98 GiBytes. The Free Memory table shows that the system has .5 GiBytes of RAM free.
However the Application Memory shows that only 339 M-Bytes of RAM is being used.Note that "top" shows the same info.So where is the other .6 GiBytes of RAM that the Used Memory table shows as being used?If I look at the process table which is supposed to encompass all of the processes running, including the ones for the OS, then it appears to add up to the 339 M-Bytes being used in the Application Memory table. Is the rest of the memory being held in reserve by the OS to be used as needed? If so, then why when another application is opened the Free Memory goes down instead of staying constant?I also noticed this memory "black hole" when I was running 11.0 on a system with 4 GB of RAM. The OS appeared to "take up" a large chunk of memory that was NOT being used by any applications and making it "disappear" - meaning that the applications were using about 1.3 GiBytes of RAM and Free Memory was showing only .7 GiBytes instead of the over 2 GB of RAM that should be free.
When I start I have this message : Xlib: extension "RANDR" missing on display ":0". The program 'filezilla' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using Opensuse 11.2 on an HP Pavilion laptop. The internal wireless (Broadcom device) quit on me - It is no longer detected at boot so I assume it is dead. No problem since I have a D_Link USB adaptor (DWL-G132). To get it working however I need ndiswrapper. I then installed ndiswrapper 1.55 and the user interface supplied with Opensuse. Problem1- The interface says "The program 'kernel-headers' is missing on your system".
I have checked with Yast and the kernel-headers are installed. Problem2- I have downloaded ndiswrapper 1.55 from Sourceforge.net to attempt the traditional installation method. The 'make' command returns the following message: "Cannot find kernel version in /lib/modules/2.6.31.8-0.1-desktop/build, is it configured?."
