OpenSUSE Multimedia :: DVD Authoring: Not Seeing The Whole File
May 1, 2010
I've been trying to author a dvd, using an xvid avi. I've tried several authoring programs (the last I tried was 2manDVD). Every time I add the file to the project, it comes up as being 102 seconds long, when it is really something like 42 minutes.
I do have things set up enough that the file plays well in a media player on the computer.
Also, what is the best program to use for this sort of thing (taking an xvid file and converting/burning it so I can pop it in the dvd player). On windows I used to use the Windows DVD maker application, which was clunky and terrible but got the job done!
I want burn a complete normal DVD that can be played in an normal DVD player. My source file is capsuled in .mp4 and about 1.3 GB large. I have tried to use mandvd1, mandvd2, bombono DVD and KMediaFactory.
mandvd doesnt produce the correct output: I every time get an error-message that says there is a problem with the menu-creation. I have installed the latest package of DVDauthor. mandvd2 doesnt work at all: The rendering process is completed after 6 seconds.
I cant start KMEdiaFactory: "KMediaFactory uses "MJPEG Tools (mpeg2enc)", and this has not been found on your system. You must install this before KMediaFactory can continue." However mpjec tools are installed.bombono DVD doesntt create an iso but a corrupt mpeg file. I really need good advice here, I cant fix it alone. I never could solve a single problem with the community. I think now its time to start.
I have a 7 GB VOB file which I created from a DVD using ffmpeg dump to remove CSS protection (it is legal where I live to do so). Now, I want to create a DVD/.iso that will be understood by regular DVD players/appliances. How do I do it?
i was trying to download Amaya a web authoring tool(open source). i tryed to download and install it but it had a error resolving dependency. could not find libexpat.so.1 i tried to find a place to get this but no success yet
So I use the following to rip audio from one .mp4 file and then generate one .mp3 file.
Code: caleb@linux-vmp1:~> ffmpeg -i a -ab 128000 -ar 44100 01.mp3
Obviously, this takes a file named a and makes a file named 01 that is an mp3. It works great and I have used it many times. The problem is, I would like to rip the audio from several files all at once. I am sure there is a way to do it but I haven't stumbled upon the way to do it.
OS is SUSE Enterprise 11.i had install totem and i cant run .avi file, error :The playback of this movie requires a DivX MPEG-4 Version 5 decoder plugin which is not installed.where i can find that decoder?
I have a problem with my opensuse, i can't launch amarok it missing a dependence
When i launch it since a terminal i have this message :
xxxxxx@linux-portable:~> amarok amarok: error while loading shared libraries: libknewstuff3.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
I downloaded the xvid codec from: PackMan:: Informationen zum Paket xvidcore, and the install was successful.I'm trying to play an xvid file, and Kaffeine is saying it cannot play all file formats, would I like to install additional support. When I click yes, it asks me for additional repositories.
I'm having trouble with this developing tool... I dunno why but when I build my program, Lazarus compiles it, but keeps debugging and don't generate the file. Do anyone knows which may be the problem?
How do i change file type associations? i looked but i don't see anything...i'm having that problem where google chrome won't stya set as default and i fixed it in fedora by changing the file associations manually :-)
I am using GNOME and KDE with 11.3 and want to get thumbnails for videos in file manager like nautilus, dolphin though tried using mplayerthumbsconfig and changed engine to mplayer from phonon but no gain. For more information in only nautilus I get 3 thumbnails of three flv videos but rest flv and others doesn't show up.
Ran into something weird. I was trying to watch a .mkv file in 720p format last night in VLC. Now, for about 10 minutes everything is fine and then the sound just stops. Video play is fine, but audio just cuts out. These hasn't happened with anything else other than this .mkv file. Would the fact I'm running gnome 3 using the open source drivers on my ati 5850 have anything to do with this? Or maybe something else? Anyone run into an issue like this?
I recently got a Xoom and have been loving it. However, I can't get USB file transfer to work. Apparently the devices is connected by mtp and I've got mtp-tools to use from the command line, but they're not able to mount the device or connect to it in any other way, although they recognize it. I've even fiddled around a bit in /etc/udev/rules.d according to the instructions in this thread: [URL]
Didn't do a thing, sadly, although I wasn't able to get gnomad to work - it kept on claiming it was missing dependencies, which it wasn't, as far as I could tell. I've got Ubuntu running on another computer, though, and installed gnomad on that. Also no dice, although I hadn't changed /etc/udev/rules.d on that computer.
Can I ask for some advice in converting a video (from my phone) which is a 3gp file into something more universal. I use audokonverter for audio files and this gives me a menu right-click option to convert a song from (say) wav to mp3. Is there an equivalent for videos? I am using opensuse 11.4 64 bit and have mplayer, xine and vlc installed plus the necessary codecs. Or is it simpler to use ffmpeg in a c/l environment
Have been having some problems with Libreoffice Writer crashing every time I try to save a file that contains any kind of multimedia (usually images) so I decided to completely remove the app and any trace of it and start again.
After complete removal I reinstalled from the Opensuse repo 3.3.1
The porblem I have now is that when I start typing in writer absolutely nothing happens. Wait approximately one minute and the text I typed appears. Try to backspac to delete or type some more and the behaviour persists.
I am wanting to know how would i get the following video and files to play Windows Media Quick time MPEG and WAV. I dont want to mess up my system got it running great would like a little help choosing and installing and how to install the right problem. And instructions on how I am still learning opensues it is great. A lot better than windows with virus virus virus.
I've been reluctant to post regarding this topic as I have tried and retried all of the "noob solutions" to get flash sound working but no luck- I need help! I suspect that it has to do with my system showing two sound cards (0 and 1) ; I tried different asoundrc file options from the ALSA Wiki but no luck. I am still left with Flash=No Audio.
I am new to opensuse. I want to install multimedia codecs on my opensuse 11.4. Is there any way to download multimedia codecs as an iso file and then burn a cd to install them on opensuse? Now, I am downloading "NonOSS CD" in add-on downloads section, is this iso file containing multimedia codecs?
I have problem with VLC player. The problem, from the image below, appears whenever I open video file. I click Ok, and a everything is ok, until I jump to another time sequence, when sound and subtitles disappear.
When running the beta of blender 2.5, I get the following error. blender: error while loading shared libraries: libpython2.5.so.1.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory In previous versions of ubuntu you could 'apt-get install python2.5' to resolve the issue, but it doesn't appear in any/all of the repositories. where I can get python2.5 for lucid-lynx?
