Software :: Substituting Icons In Libreoffice?
Jul 4, 2011I am running Ubuntu 11.04 and I don't like the way the libreoffice writer and spreadsheet icons look in the Unity panel. I found some Faenza icons that look nicer, but I only want to change the libreoffice icons, not the whole icon set. I have installed Faenza icons, so they should be accessible. Is there a way I can substitute only those two icons for the ones showing in my panel?

May 12, 2010Are there any official, almost-official or maybe even reasonably stable kernel repositories with new kernels for opensuse 11.2? I recently changed my laptop for a new one which has some issues, which then again are solved in 2.6.33 (and even in 2.6.32 with some tweaking). I would by any means try to avoid kernel recompilation.

Jul 15, 2010Like a guy earlier today report a problem with Opensuse 11.2 working fine on his machine but 11.3 is not. I have somewhat the same problem. The default installation freezes randomly. I have seen this error before with Intel video cards but never with NVIDIA. Right now, I'm using VESA in failsafe mode and trying to install some drivers from this repo.
I'll try and find a fix for this. (Hope their is one)BTW, can anyone confirm when the official drivers for NVIDIA cards are coming out?
OpenSUSE :: Install A En_NZ Dictionary For Libreoffice?
Aug 19, 2011For a month or two I have been trying to install a en_NZ dictionary for Libreoffice. It is available from the openoffice extensions page - which I am directed to by selecting Libreoffice > Tools > Language > More Dictionaries Online.
However for the past month or two this page has had problems. Every time I click on any of the extensions I am taken to an error page that states "The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading."
Does nobody maintain the openoffice extension pages any more?
OpenSUSE Install :: Desktop Without Icons On Bootup
Dec 18, 2009I installed Linux about a week ago, so I'm really new to it. I have been having some problems with it, when I start my laptop sometimes it shows my desktop background but never seems to load all the icons and everything it sits there with the mouse pointer and a the desktop background screen without icons. The second problem is that when I suspend it I can never get the screen to work again not even by moving the mouse or typing anything in.

Jul 8, 2010I'm really new to opensuse, and linux in general. I started using 11.2 in may and I'm still having trouble. I started it on a newly refurbished HP Pavillion. It's always seemed to run slow, freezes up when I plug in my external hard drive, won't play music on amarok or it will lag, things like that. When I run it in windows everything works fine. and it has always ran really hot and loud when in opensuse.
To make things worse, lately if I open mozilla, all the programs/windows I have open will disappear, all my tabs will disappear, all the icons on my desktop disappear and my application launcher, clock, etc, all disappear. when i manually shut it down and restart it works fine for a while. I keep trying to find things online but I've got to the point where I'm afraid to mess it up more.

May 24, 2010So I am a bit puzzled. After upgrading to 10.04, I seem to have lost my official Sun Java and plugins for Firefox/Opera. I wouldn't care normally about having the official Sun Java instead of IcedTea plugin and Open Java which is now installed, except that my university doesn't support anything for our Student Information System except for official Sun Java.
My question is this: Is there a way to install Sun Java back onto my machine instead of the "new" OpenJava?

Aug 26, 2010I installed openSUSE 11.3 off the 4.7 GB dvd two days ago. The first thing that I noticed was that the official repositories didn't seem to work. Starting the Install/remove software manager would throw three "Package-kit error: repo not available file (in one of the cases) repomd.xml not found on medium (the url of the official repository)".I searched for a solution online, but couldn't find anything, except for the downtime on Aug 21(I didn't have the system installed back then). The last thing that I did was to edit the URL of each repository by simply copy-pasting the URL from the website, in case of gremlins. This stopped the twelve or so error messages each that I used to get each time Install/remove started to autorefresh.Now I just get one error - WarningThere was an error in the repository initialization.Which tells me as much as the first series, but definitely saves me time

Oct 6, 2010After installation of 11.3 I had intermittent hangs and blurred icons.
"My Computer" told me I had a Nvidia GeForce 9100 and a driver called "gallium". That was the problem.
I added "ftp://download.nvidia.com/opensuse/11.3" to my repository and found a new driver to install. That solved my problems. Now my systems are rock solid.

Operating System Windows Vista Home Basic (Service Pack 1)(varies by model) Anyways here is what happens, and this only happens to me when i run linux. THIS NEVER HAPPENED WHILE RUNNING WINDOWS VISTA OR WINDOWS XP. First icons will disapear and text will not work, images wont be there, system dock and explorer will just not work, the start menu will have nothing in it, and when i restart it, (manual) it will boot and show me specs and say "NO OPERATING SYSTEM FOUND" and when i go into BIOS it says IDE0:_______ not the hard drive name and size like it usually does.

If I go into Tools->OPtions->Java I can see the Sun JRE is installed and 'Use a Java runtime environment' is ticked. how to stop this error message?
