I have problems to update my box and get this error:Failed to download./repodata/6a45e4f3d9d376d002a3a59ea65 53fcc5a2d8456-deltainfo.xml.gz from Index of /update/11.2 but when I test this:Index of /update/11.2-test it works smoothly. Any ideas?

How do I stop YaST from downloading the repodata every time I open the software manager?Even if I have opened it 5 minutes before, YaST still downloads the repomd.xml again.This is also a real pain if I am offline and trying to install an rpm, because I have to wait for it to realise that it can't access the data before it allows me to skip the auto-refresh.By the time that happens I could have installed the software already if I was using a debian or windows based system.

The red updater icon alerted me to about a dozen patches, which started to install, then halted with an error: Download failure from download.opensuse.org/distribution/11.2/repo/non-oss. When I try to update repositories, the same error recurs for that repo and also for .../oss and download.opensuse.org/update/11.2/,
If I attempt to "register for support to get update repository," clicking on Configure Now and Next produces the same three error messages: "Failed to download", one for each repository. The screen then returns to Registration, with another error message "an error occurred while connecting to the server". Clicking on the Detail button show exactly "ERROR:"
This AMD desktop machine with this install of 11.2 has updated many times in the last few weeks. Has something changed? The update servers do respond to a ping, so they are up and apparently I have connectivity.
For some reason I was trialing a SUSE 11.1 SP1 version for a while and somehow I have NO clue it attempted to change itself to a OpenSUSE 11.1 System. I have no clue what I did, please don't ask Now though I have been successful in turning into an OpenSUSE 11.2 system by changing the repositories to OpenSUSE 11.2, doing a "zypper refresh", "Zypper in Zypper", "Zypper dup -d", "Zypper dup". I also did a repair and refreshed the base packages with an OpenSUSE 11.2 DVD and that seemed to help also. All of the 5.4 mirrors I've checked out have new packages in the updates repo added on 10/26 and 10/27, for both i386 and x86_64, but the repodata files haven't been updated since 10/19 so yum and reposync don't see them. how long this should usually take to update?

When I try to check for updates and also when I try and press "reload" in the Synaptic package manager, I get this error:

Sometimes, I also get this red triangle with an exclamation point in my toolbar thing that tells me I have repository problems, or something along those lines. I'm assuming they're all related. I've been looking around, and I noticed people having similar errors and just being able to uncheck something in my Software settings, or something like that. In my case, I'm not exactly sure what to uncheck though, don't wanna screw anything up any more! I'm using 10.10, and I believe I'm using Maverick. I'm not sure what that means though. I've only recently started using Linux.

I have a big file 1,3 GB that I need to transfer over a slow link, I started doing it for 3 weeks ago over sftp, the problem is that when the download reached 95% completion the link broke! Unrecoverable.I don't intend to restart the whole download process, is there a way or a linux software that could do the job in a bittorrent like matter ? For example:just downloading the missing part of the file ? (I have control over the server in order to install or configure what it needs to be done).
