Running openSuSE 11.1 and Digikam 1.1.0 under KDE 4.4.1 with most recent updates as of today. I started digikam and all settings are still in place and database file exists same as always. All subcollections in the albums show zero pictures. Opening file manager shows all contents exists.

The installation works fine, but when I load Digikam it does not show all of the photo albums in /home/darren/pictures and those albums that it does list have no photos in them. Also my requirements are fairly limited I use GIMP to do any editing. But need to be able upload to Picasa.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI selected 10 photos and used the batch rename feature (Batch -> Rename Images). Once I had the settings set and accepted the changes, the tool successfully renamed all 10 photos. The problem is I can't see them in digiKam anymore. It's just an empty album. When I navigated to the folder using Dolphin, all the pictures were still there and they were properly renamed. Back in digiKam, it's just an empty folder. I tried moving the photos to a different directory and then adding that folder to digiKam, but it still showed up as an empty folder.
I don't know what to do. How can I get this app to see my pictures again?
what happened to the Create Web Album functionality in gThumb 2.11 series? Is it no longer supported or am I missing an extension or something? Is there another software I can use that allwos me to do the same?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI was running fedora 9 on an HP pavilon and wanted to get my wirless card to work with b43, so i searched online for ways to to this and found the following: "Using the b43 driver If you need to use the b43 driver follow these steps to install the required firmware.
1. Download this file [URL]
2. Load up a terminal window if you are in the graphic interface.
3. Switch to the root user by entering the command "su -" (without the quotes) and typing in your root password
4. Extract the contents of the file you downloaded by typing the following: tar -xjvf /path/to/broadcom-wl-4.80.53.0.tar.bz2 Replace the "path/to" section with the path to the file you downloaded.
5. We now need to use the b43-fwcutter tool. A standard Fedora installation already has this tool installed however if you don't have it type in the following: yum install b43-fwcutter
6. Now run the following:
b43-fwcutter -w /lib/firmware kmod/wl_apsta.o The above assumes you are in the directory that you extracted the downloaded file to.
7. Now type in following following:
echo "modprobe b43" >> /etc/rc.modules" chmod 755 /etc/rc.modules"8. Reboot your system and hopefully you will have functioning wireless." the full page can be found here: [URL] i tried the above steps and was only able to get as far as step 6 as b43-fwcutter wouldent extract the file, so after a few tries i gave up and restarted my computer. when the computer restarted i would get the following message:

Im currently running Fedora release 12 (Constantine) and having issue with NetworkManager no longer showing up on my icon bar. Prior to system update no issues - now nothing no longer able to search for WIFI connections.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have installed Unbuntu on recommendation from two users to get the USGS ISIS program to run on it when OTHER versions of Linux seems to have issuyes..not necessariliy LANY edition of Linux either ... imho after two full months of trying to get USGS and ASU to help give me honest geo-referenced and map-aligned data of all 10 bands each IR image has from Odyssey.. NasaView opens and gives individual bands..but...geo-referencing and map-alignment only ISIS can do.
I finally got it to work when two Ubuntu users got the main lib of ubuntu think certain old libraries are there when not. I think...worked anyhoo the ISIS commands worked...but now...the OUTPUT of the commands are INACCESSABILE! As you may guess correctly everything between Music and Pictures in the listing is THE stuff produced by the output of the ISIS program made FOR Linux systems. Which One? Well Suse 10 and above not supported anymore and there are others. So I don't know what to do. I thought del meant delete in ANY language...guess not. What's up and how can I delete these files from the Home folder at least so it STAYS OPEN?
Running Ubuntu 10.10 along side Windows7 on a 64-bit HP Pavilion dv7 Laptop. Everything works in Windows. Everything works in Ubuntu, except for 2 things.1) I can live with not being able to enable/disable wifi.) I cannot read photos from an SD card plugged into the laptops SD card reader. When I open the SD card in Ubuntu, I can see the file name, but the thumbnails show messed up pictures. Usually, the bottom half of the photo is solid green, and there are usually lines running through the photo, or it is divided into quadrants with one quadrant being ok, but the rest having the green and/or lines.I assume the driver for the card reader is not correct. Card reader works fine in Windows. So I have to reboot into windows, copy pictures from reader to a folder, then reboot into Ubuntu and I can see and open the photos just fine. Just cannot read and copy them from the card while in Ubuntu.

My question is how do I get Digikam 1.4 to use ffmpegthumbnailer instead of mplayerthumbnailer?
I wonder if there is an option to select one set of dups to erase. So far i think you can only delete individual images, which might take a long time. Is there any other way to speed deletion a bit? I checked the manual, but it doesn't talk a lot of it. Or is there by any chance another add on?

This repeated over and over again. My temperature was never to high 40-55, and I found a suggestion to update my kernel to 2.6.37-020637. After doing so there is no longer the thermal limit exceeded error but the computer is still running poorly. The system is slow and again no programs are showing up in the task bar when open.

i run right now digikam and rebuild my thumbnails. It seems like that this task takes a lot of cpu power and its not digikam itself, rather xorg takes the load. Is this right? I just wonder.

I attempted to install the latest version of Digikam, v1.6, by connecting the Factory repository , then an upgrade via YAST. It automagically included upgrade of certain kde4 packages to v2.5.80.
System ran OK for a while, then I got a Plasma Desktop Shell crash notice and now cannot restart X. I can boot to level 3. I upgraded all the kde components to 2.5.80, but that did not help.
Has anyone successfully done this? Was there a hidden secret to success?
If all else fails, am I correct that

Now since I have installed openSUSE 11.2, digikam insists to take over.
How can I configure SUSE 11.2 that it offers me the file manager option again? It would be great (but not necessary) if it offered a selection "Open with ..." when the USB cable is plugged in.

When trying to upload pictures to Flickr (i have an account and authorising the flickruploadr was successful) by using the export function I get a message saying (in German): Es ist ein Fehler aufgetreten (= error): Ungltiger Frob (=invalid frob).

I am trying to figure out how to get all my pictures in my folders to have a thumbnail I have gone under view-adjust view properties and selected "show preview" option and than selected all folders at the bottom of the screen. I also went back under the view menu and made sure that the preview box was checked. Only maybe less than half of my pictures are able to be previewed is this a common problem.
