OpenSUSE :: Avogadro 1.0.1 Does Not Work With 11.4?

when trying to launch Avogadro 1.0.1_x.x on opensuse 11.4, I get:

The _C_API object in the sip python module is invalid.
Could not initialize SIP API !terminate called after throwing an instance of 'boost::python::error_already_set' And the program does not launch!
It is apparently not restricted to opensuse 11.4 but also to other recent Linux systems. On Avagodro's site, this problem is claimed to be solved in 1.0.2 (and 1.0.3 is now out), but I could not find anything else than 1.0.1_x.x versions for opensuse 11.4. Could someone be kind enough to make a new 1.0.3 package so that Avogadro works on opensuse 11.4?
Can anyone suggest a good free Virtualization Software Package that work on OpenSuse with the KDE Desktop, as I need to use Windows for some applications that have not got a Linux equivelant, Namely Reserch In Motions BlackBerry Desktop Manager and the drivers for my Printer and Scanner, so I would also need something with USB pass through. Or if there isn't any free virtualization software that will dowat I want that's free then something that is not expensive that's paid for. I like the look of Parallels Desktop 4 for Windows & Linux but I'm not sure if I would be able to justify paying �54.99 for the ammount of use that it will get?
I successfully installed OpenSUSE on a 4gb pen drive using the instructions contained within this portal. However, for the life of me I can't figure out why the persistent feature doesn't work.
I just purchased a Verizon USB 760 Modem.I purchased the Modem from Verizon because their web site stated that it supported all major OS including Linux.

I installed opensuse 11.2 64-bit edition. I installed all of the software I wanted.I now want to clone the installation to 6 other workstations that are 100% identical to the first.I used clonezilla to create the image, but all of the new workstations will not boot. This is due to the fact of the fstab being 100% cloned and other boot volume problems.Does anyone know of a good, easy way to clone opensuse 11.2 that will work?
I upgraded to OpenSuse 11.2 and just about the only thing that doesn't work is my wireless internet. From my research, I should be using the iwl4965 or iwlwifi driver; however my system seems to be running iwlagn. I have no idea how to switch it as neither of the correct drivers can be found in my yast, and I've failed to find any information about this on the Intel® Wireless WiFi Link drivers for Linux* website.
I have three machines with the same configuration. ssh and SFTP enabled on all three and I can see all three from the network. I can also ping all three. Here is what I get with the ssh debug command on the problematic machine:

I am trying to get my mic working for voice chat on DDo, but I have had no luck so far. I have a headset with a microphone on it, but I don't seem to be able to get it to record. the audio out put works though.
I have vnc running, but I can't change the startup script to use a different desktop manager. I can't tell if it has anything to do with it being TightVNC or not. I can't find information regarding VNC (which I want) and guides are cryptic/don't work 100%.
I'd like to set the default to KDE and log in via internet which I can do via url. Unfortunately, I'm not exprienced with remoting in as well VNC is enabled and config script is listed below.

I just did a fresh install of OPENSUSE 11.3. And I can't connect to the machine via ssh.

how to solve this but nothing seams to work. One of the links was this one: link . From this link I found out that I'm missins /etc/ttys file, But creating it did'n make any difference.

I have used Gscan2pdf for a long time on opensuse11.2 and it worked very well as a scan tool.I have now reinstalled suse 11.2 (I managed to break it last week) but cannot get gscan2pdf to work and do not know how I did it last time.It requires certain dependancies to be manualy installed and that has been ok, but I cannot find one of the dependancies called.Does anybody know where I can get it from?
I have just installed compiz through the YaST2 software manager.It all downloaded and installed OK as I can see it in the Kickoff Application Launcher.But although I have set the configuration for cube rotate, when I point and click to different desktops on the task bar, the switch is without rotation

using suse 11.3 and kde 4.5 I installed kvm, I tried to install widows xp, everything works well until when the windows cd restart, there kvm shows en error like no disk to boot and don't reboot to continue the installation.
Host is x64 openSUSE 11.2 guest is winxp pro VirtualBox ver 3.0.12
The install and setup of VirtualBox is good and working.
I'm having a perplexing issue with usb devices. I have three usb devices connected to my system - apc battery, sd carder, and a Logitech joystick. All devices work on the host. I can connect the apc and the card reader to the guest and they work perfectly. But not the Logitech joystick. I get this error, same as I've seen in some other threads:

I need a Etext reader to help me read my txt books. I can not use the RFBD or get the Virtual box to work! Both tread told me to Not Try! so what is a etext reader for the txtbooks.
KDE world clock does not work I mean when I put it as widget it apper very small I can not see any thing on it and I can not open it to the desktop by double click as I use to do in KDE 3
The reason why I'm asking help here is because I'm being continuously ignored in #opensuse-irc-channel in freenode. I updated from 11.2 to 11.3 couple of days ago. I have always used gnome and loved it. Update from 11.1 to 11.2 didn't bring any problems and neither did from 11.2 to 11.3. Update went fine, no errors whatsoever occurred. Of course I had some problems with nvidia drivers and it was hard to get dual screen to work, but I managed. After that I figured out that nautilus is missing, because my desktop was empty and no right clicks worked. So I tried to run it from command line to see what it prints out:

I don't know what's the case but my nautilus just won't work. I ran "zypper dup" and synced the packages, and after reboot I figured maybe nautilus from 11.2 would work, so I one-click-installed it from software.opensuse.org/search without adding the repo of course. And for some reason it worked, maybe because I had zypper dupped before.
Being happily using my computers couple of days I noticed video thumbnails don't work any longer, so I killed nautilus. And duh, it didn't start again. I reinstalled nautilus from 11.2, and it looked like this:[URL] I decided to update it back, and live without nautilus until I find the solution. This is also my server, so reinstalling the system is not an option because I have all those confs and I don't have hard drive for backuping. I also tried again zypper dup from official repo with no joy. I also tried zypper dup & reboot from couple of other repos, like gnome latest for opensuse 11.3, but nothing changed.
I am using Suse 11.1 on a 64-bit computer. Some time ago, I was helped on these forums to get a Brother MFC-640CW printer/scanner to work by downloading the relevant drivers from the Brother website. Although the printer works fine, when I attempt to scan something into the computer nothing happens. A pop up box appears on screen when the printer is used with an XP OS. Can anybody suggest a way to get the scanner working?
I installed the package "java3d" with yast, and I already have Java_1.6 installed, with the plugin(2 files from YAST). I went online to do a java3d test, and every test site says it is not installed, when it is. Now, where exactly was this supposed to be installed so I can use it under Firefox? Obviously it was installed in the wrong place and Firefox does not see it.

an interesting effect with KDE: I am trying to create a shortcut on my desktop for my "misc" directory. I have been trying to click on the misc folder (dolphin) and transport it to the desktop with the mouse: it does ask me if I wish the Folder view, the icon view etc, but then if I ask for the icon view it transforms into a specific icon "Miscellaneous" which seems to be predefined in KDE (and has also a specific icon image) and obviously is not a shortcut to my misc folder...
How do I just simply get an icon linking to my folder "misc" on the desktop then?

But php5-mbstring don't work. The command php5 -m and phpinfo() show that a extension php5-mbstring not present, but in the Yast2 this extension installed (Installed Version 5.3.2-28.1)???
I have a favor to ask, I've been having a really hard time trying to understand how snmp traps work, what can they do for you, and why they are useful. I've done some research and I've even set up snmp clients on linux systems, not necessarily the traps. I know they communicate on port 161 and 162 and I also know that you set them up to connect to a community string. Still I cant grasp the concept. If you don't mind can any one break it down for me, in very basic terms.
