Networking :: Source Code For Routing In Ad-Hoc Networks
Feb 17, 2011
I have tried using ad-hoc networking in linux machines. My question is that is the routing in ad-hoc network is implemented at kernel level. I just want get my hands on the code that make wireless ad-hoc networking possible.

I'm trying to setup the following on a red hat 5 HP DL380 server: (2 bonds mapped to 2 xen bridges on 2 different networks)
interfaces bond xen bridge network
eth0ð1 -> bond0 -> xenbr0 -> 172.16.6.0/24
eth2ð3 -> bond1 -> xenbr1 -> 172.16.5.0/24
For IP bonding I want the OS be responsible for configuring the Network Bridges(not xend). So I've commented out any line starting with '(network-script' in the /etc/xen/xend-config.sxp file.
My configuration is as follows:
1) For Bond0:
[root@localhost ~]# cat /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0
DEVICE=eth0
USERCTL=no
ONBOOT=yes
[Code].....
So the static routes that are configured, do not seem to taking effect.

Has somebody used DAFS (Direct Access File System)?I've found a lot of literature about this file system,where the comprassion tests promise a ~20-50% faster packet transmission,than in the strandard NFS.But I can't install DAFS,because the source code is for old kernels 2.4.Does anyone know,why did the research of this file system stopped in 2003 year,and there are no newer versions?

Two Questions:
A: Can you tell me which code belongs to CB21AG code? In the directory debian/debian/drivers/net/wireless/ath/ath5k/ I can see two modules written
1. pci.c and
2. ahb.c
Not sure which one to look for!!
B: If I want to build ath5k.ko module by making some changes then how to build it? If I go to directory debian/debian/drivers/net/wireless/ath/ath5k/ and give make then it doesnt goes through sudipto@sudipto-ThinkPad-T61p:~/kernel_workspace/Development/source/debian/debian/drivers/net/wireless/ath/ath5k$ make make: *** No targets. Stop. sudipto@sudipto-ThinkPad-T61p:~/kernel_workspace/Development/source/debian/debian/drivers/net/wireless/ath/ath5k

I read that xinetd listens on the service port and passes incoming traffic to the service (ftpd) via stdin. However, the ftpd source code reads its input from a socket not from stdin.
Am I to conclude that in order to be managed by xinetd, the source code for ftpd (or telnetd etc..) must be modified or recompiled to take its input from stdin??

Code: eth0[192.168.0.2] eth1[192.168.1.2] and eth2[10.10.165.2]
I am trying to ping eth0 from eth2, but I am not able to succesfully get a response from pinging the device, I am using:
Code: ping 192.168.0.2 -I eth2
I have tried to insert routing data into the routing table, but it still doesn't work

I am trying to configure my android phone (rooted Eris running kaossfroyo 2.2) to be used as a midi controller. Which I am having enough trouble with as it is but it has raised an annoying issue that occurred a month ago when I used the phones tethering network with my laptop. After connecting the laptop to the phones network (either tether, or an Ad-hoc network created using the network manager) I am unable to switch to other networks. In other words when I'm done with the phone-laptop connection I cannot connect my laptop to my home network! When I click on the other network connection I can see that it is attempting to connect in the upper right corner of the desktop (the network icon) but it will not make the connection.
What happens is that the network indicator will make the little circle graphic as if it is trying to connect but it never will display the other circle as green indicating that it has connected. but when I disconnect from the home network that is not connecting I will get a message underneath that will say that ad-hoc network disconnected! If I am switching from the android tether it will say Android-Tether disconnected etc. Even though when I click on network manager it shows that I am attempting to connect to the home network (labeled LIBERTY in my case) upon disconnection it shows the ad-hoc or tether connection being disconnected.
I am absolutely baffled by this! The issue persists even after deleting the ad-hoc connection from the wireless settings tab!!! I would speculate that for some reason the laptop is attempting to connect to the previous ad-hoc connection despite me wanting it to connect to LIBERTY. I am very confused and hope someone can lead me in the right direction.

I have some C source code listings that are not documented or even commented from which I would like to run a program to create a flowchart.I'm not looking for the likes of dia or such which require the user to do the creation please. I've read the posts on this and other forums but have found only user created charts, not from source. From several web searches I know winblows has such programs but I don't want windows on this machine!

In what directory do I need to install a tarball containing API libraries in order to import the libraries for programming?I've been trying for a few hours now to get started on my homework - but I need the GLUT api for OpenGL. After attempting to compile a simple test program, I got the error
Code:
glut.h: No such file or directory
First off, I'm not even really sure if OpenGL wasn't included in the original install or if I even need it when programming with GLUT (I truelly am clueless, lol). But after reading as much as I could, I've only been able to deduce that I need to install the API libraries somewhere on my disc.So I found the tarball, and there are special instructions for installing a linux machine. I found instructions saying to install it in the directory /usr/lib/ but is that right for the SUSE distro?Also, if anybody knows anything about GLUT/OpenGL programming + openSUSE11.2.
