General :: Install Program - Spew Out An Error About .obj/matrix.o File
Feb 24, 2011
I am trying to install a program and it spews out an error about the .obj/matrix.o file. The output is quoted here:
[code]...
The program I was trying to install is a robot simulator which performs lots of matrix manipulation and linear system solving. I followed every step in the installation guide, except for this one:
I have installed CUDA-BLASTP on C2050.It is giving me an Error:"Bad address Error opening matrix file (null) for reading" while i am running with following query file and dataset:
and i am using BLOSUM62 as a matrix file which is already present in package.
And getting the error:"Error happened when the number of GPUs is 0" while i am running CUDABLASTP with a part of dataset taking as a query file and dataset is same. above mentioned error is comming from file "CUDA_Blast.cu" included in package.
else { printf("Error happened when the number of GPUs is %d ", localGPU_N); exit(0); }

On Ubuntu, all you need to do is install the following packages from the package manager:
libblas-dev liblapack-dev
As shown above, I am using RHEL 6, which has different libraries with Ubuntu. I tried "yum search" and installed these libraries instead: lapack.x86_64 : Numerical linear algebra package libraries blas.x86_64 : The Basic Linear Algebra Subprograms library.
I use Codeblocks as IDE environment for my C programs. I recently added the matrix library Meschach, but unfortunately the headers are not found during compiling/linking process. For instance, my generic program is the one below:
I've recently performed a clean upgrade from 11.0 to 11.3 (wipe / partition to ext4, retain /home disk, swap partition etc.) and everything is fine, installed as Gnome distro with KDE3 from repos.Anyway, I've noticed that SuSE will say "doing fast boot" and suspend any console spew until after the kernel has finished with hardware detection and the like. I'd like to be able to see exactly what's happening with the kernel at boot, as I'm quite paranoid and in the event of system failure etc. it would be difficult to view the logs post-boot. Also, my IDE optical drives have a habit of sometimes only being partially detected due to the power line being somewhat intermittent, and I've seen the kernel attempt to re-stablish a link on 11.0, whereas I'd never be able to see that in 11.3 unless I see the console spew, so it would look like the system hanging on "doing fast boot".
Note: I do not want to disable splash=silent, unless spalsh has another option which will give me the desired functionality. I want to have a silent boot, with the option of going verbose with Esc; it's one of the things that I love about SuSE.Oh, and Grub was a nightmare as usual with disk ordering differing at run-time from config file and the total freeze at "loading stage2", so I had to manually fix that. Why does the installer seemingly ignore or revert the specific options I set for GRUB? I understand that the default options for GRUB are ok for single disk users, but my disk ordering is not overly exotic. I stress that this was not user error, as I've had the same issue from going from 10.2 to 10.3 to 11.0, even though they were clean grub installs (rewrites). /rant.
I had Ubuntu for awhile, now I installed Fedora12, I'm trying to follow directions to install a program from source code (tar.gz file) I have the February 2010 issue of Linux Format, and am trying to follow it step by step. I copied gnurobbo off their disk to my desk top, which copied it. Then I did the cd command, then I did the ls command and it didn't show me anything but a line saying desktop and a few other things like pictures movies etc. so I did cd gnurobbo-0.64 and it says no such file. I have been trying this for a few times and I think I'm going crazy.
where can i download linux drivers / PPD file for epson lq-590 dot matrix printer? I have tried printing with the driver for epson lq-570+ but the print quality is not up to the mark
i am using rhel5 & want to install wipro lq540 dot matrix printer on my system , i don't have product cd suggest me the right way to install printer manually, also this printer name is not listed in the printers list of rhel5 printer configuration menu
I am trying to install ubuntu 10.04 to my raid 1+0 array. Install just sees four different hd:s main-0 main-1 storage-0 storage-1
There is not showing any size or anything. I have set two raid arrays: main and storage, both with 4-hard-driver (raid10). Storage array is partitioned to 1TB and 400GB partitions, 400GB partition is where i want to install ubuntu. Main array has windows already. Where to go next?

In the following code, I am trying to define a matrix in CCS (which is equivalent to CSR for a symmetric matrix, right ?) in ARPACK++. I have installed and patched ARPACK++. (The matrix is not sparse, but still it should not give an error)
[code]...
Why is this so ? I have checked the values of ia and ja by running intel MKl on the matrix to find the CSR (again, CSR=CCS for symmetric matrix, right ?--I am asking this because ARPACK++ uses CCS, not CSR), and the values are the same. Is this some problem of 0 and 1 indexing ? Does ARPACK++ use 1 indexing?
I am running Ubuntu 9.10 and had hoped to use Synaptic to find and install Truecrypt. As Synaptic couldn't find it I downloaded it from [URL]. In case it helps the file is called "truecrypt-6.3a-linux-x86.tar.gz". Apart from not knowing how to get a working program from the .tar.gz file, I don't know whether the installation process sorts out where the file should go and puts it there, or whether I have to create a directory for it and put it there myself.
For varios reasons I would like to install Thunderbird 2.0.0.24. I have downloaded the file, but so far I have not found out how to install the program. I am running Ubuntu 10.04 It is a tar.gz file
I'm trying to install a program in ubuntu 10.4 that is a tar.bz2 file. I have read a lot of tutorials and I'm still having the same problem. My problem is when I try to configure command I get "directory not found". I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
how to install a program with a tar.gz extensions. Its a blackjack game that iam trying to install. I could not find one in the synaptic package manager.
I'm trying to setup Baldur's Gate in Wine and it's giving me this error: "There is no Windows program configured to run that type of file". I've enabled the file to be allowed to run as an executable, and the program is completely uncorrupted - I just installed it on another computer with Windows.
I have installed RHEL-5 on a 64-bit machine recently, and want to install java. Earlier when I did "java -version", it showed jre1.4.0. But for my application , I need jre 1.5.0 or later, so I decided to download jre1.6. I am the root user here and I downloaded the jre1.6 as rpm.bin as well as simple .bin format.
But the problem is that when I tried executing any of them, I am getting below error message :
" ./jre-6u16-linux-x64-rpm.bin: line 368: ./install.sfx.20520: cannot execute binary file" Moreover, now when I tried "java -version", it is not showing any thing.
Could anybody suggest me how can I resolve this deadlock situation, as I need to install my other application at the earliest.
I have downloaded DavMail and its currently living and running from my /home/user/Downloads/DavMail
in this folder is
davmail.jar davmail.log davmail.sh Lib/
[Code]....
I need to put davmail in a better location than downloads but am unsure where to put it, Im guessing if I seperate some of the files/folders such as lib ill have to modify the davmail.sh file.
wheres the best location to keep this or should it remain in my home folder, I was going to put this in
/usr/local/bin /usr/local/lib
But the jar count as a binary? the .sh certainly wouldnt.
My midterm instructions are in mth format. I wouldn't even know what program to use to open in Windows. The actual midterm itself is an htm file. I need help ASAP.
I have custom software that writes to a sensitive large file when the user does something. I would like to make backup copies of The file that gets written to, but if I make a gzip of the file at the same time someone is changing something, it will corrupt the backup because some of the data will be missing, as its backed up during being written to.
a) Is there a way to detect if a file is currently being accessed/written to? That way if its currently being accessed, I can just make the script wait until its done and then finally back it up.
b) Instead of backing up the large file while it has potential to get written to, would it be better to make a copy of the file first, then gzip the copy? This idea comes from the fact that gzipping the original takes 5-10 seconds, whereas making a copy only takes 1-2 seconds. The less time, the less chance of corruption.
c) Is there anyway to freeze a program or a file to stop it from being written to for an amount of time?
With a, b, and c together. The best solution I have to my problem would be a script that first detects rather the file is being accessed. If not, it would then freeze the file/program and then make a quick copy of it. Once the copy is created, it will unfreeze the original file/program and then go about gzipping the copy.
