General :: G2ipmsg Cannot See Other Users On The Messenger?

I am using Fedora10.I have installed g2ipmsg using "g2ipmsg-0.9.6.tar.gz".The installation was successful.But when I execute it I cannot see any other user in the users list inside g2ipmsg , other than myself (It uses the 'lo' and not 'eth0').Messaging with myself is successful.ipmsg.exe works well in Windows , I don't have to make any settings there.Here in Linux I made the settings as:settings->preferences->External representation of IPMSG character code to 'GBK'.
also when I run the application following things are printed:
root@nameserver# g2ipmsg
Error : [fileubcrypt.c line:1307 ] Can not store key: length: 0

i have to use g2ipmsg to connect over lan with windows pcs ,how can i allow it through my firewall i have tried opening 2425 port bur it is accompanied by a service that i don't know and g2ipmsg doesn't work with 2425 open so i guess there is an option to let an application through firewall is it okay to run dc++ with firewall passive mode or i should open a port.

Actually we are use windows n fedora flavors running g2ipmsg (lan messenger) to communicate in cross platform but one of the machine having g2ipmsg is not working fine. It always gets hangs when we open or minimize ipmsg window. i had tried deleting the source file and tried to install new one but it never fix the problem
NOTE: i guess lib file got affected but im not sure.

Once I open my messenger window and its time for me to log in I have my yahoo account ready to go so I key in my password and it never lets me log in. This suddenly started happening. However if I was to log in with an AOL account I can still log in. What can I do to solve this? I am assuming that somehow the system locked or disable my yahoo account from logging in.

BTW. Fedora 13 is the best OS yet. I only needs a couple more programs to really rock.

If you want to install rediff bol (messenger) in Ubuntu first you have to install Wine. Installation of wine software in two way. First way through the command line second way through the Ubuntu software center In first way you go to applications---> accessories ---> Terminal and type sudo apt-get install wine after installation complete you should install Microsoft's True Type fonts: sudo apt-get install msttcorefonts in the second way you go to applications ---> Ubuntu software center ---> in search box type wine It will show Wine Microsoft Windows Compatibility Layer (Beta Release) Wine Microsoft Windows Compatibility Layer Q4Wine (GUI configuration tool for wine) in this you should install Q4wine (GUI configuration tool for wine) install first second you install Wine Microsoft Windows Compatibility Layer (Beta Release)
after that you install Wine Microsoft Windows Compatibility Layer after installing you download Rediff Bol 8.0 Messenger.exe from [URL]... after download is completed you go to places ---> download and copy Rediff Bol 8.0 Messenger.exe and past it Desk top now Right click on Rediff Bol 8.0.exe and open with Q4wine after open you will see one box that is Run Program and press OK button now you will see a new box Q4Wine:. Qt4 for Wine v0.118 now you will press Default place It will open Rediff installation box.............

I have configured squid 2.5 stable 6. I can browse any website. I can even use msn messenger but I cannot use yahoo messenger. I have also set the http proxy settings in preference for yahoo messenger but still it does not sign in.

i have a NIS master server and 4 NIS clients. out of 4 nis clients two are acting as login servers ie users will login and do all their stuffs and the remaining two are application servers. But sometimes users login into applications servers and started doing all their developer's job. i want to allow only a limited number of users tointo this application users not all the users who are all part of the nis domain.all the systems are running RHEL 5.4 on hp's proliant x86_64 based servers. Please advice me how should i proceed? enabling ip tables is not possible in my environment.

When I have different people log into our ftp and browse to the same folder, some people see the files inside, some don't. all the user accounts are in the same group, which has permission to this folder. but the one user who can see the files is the owner. how can i fix it so everyone in that group who's the owner of the folder can see the files?

I just completely put Ubuntu on my laptop and I am looking for a replacement MSN messenger that allows multi-session. Basically, in most of the WLM versions of MSN Messenger it allows Multi-session, as in I can login into the same MSN account on both my desktop (Windows) and my laptop (Ubuntu).
