General :: Ubuntu 10.10 To Win7 Pro Using Either TSClient Or Remmina?

Oct 17, 2010

'm wanting to remote into my Win7 machine at home to copy a file to my Ubuntu laptop. I've disabled my firewall. Worth noting is I have changed my default remote port to 22, though it shouldn't cause an issue AFAIK. I have selected to share one of my folders in my home directory. I select to map the folder or entire drive and connect. I get to the Ubuntu folder which I wish to copy items into, and in doing so I get this error:

"\tsclientshikeDocuments is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.

Attempt to access invalid address."

Mapping a drive through Windows to Windows remote session has had no such issues. I also tried copying from the mapped drive and get the same issue. After the error occurs the drive is completely inaccessible till I reconnect.

Does anyone know how to get around this, or can suggest an alternative way of accessing my files remotely that will work?

Ubuntu :: Cannot Get Remmina To Work

Jan 11, 2011

I'm need to be able to remote desktop to Windows 2008 servers to provide support to my company(preferably from my Ubuntu laptop so that I can get rid of windows). I tried RDP but was not happy with it. I found a product called Remmina and after spending some time on google I found the following command to install in on Ubuntu 10.10:

sudo apt-get install remmina

Then I tried launching it from the menu item and nothing happened. I then tried running it from the command line: /usr/bin/remmina and I get the following error:

Remmina plugin RDP (type=Protocol) registered.
Remmina plugin RDPF (type=File) registered.
Remmina plugin RDPS (type=Tool) registered.

I also tried installing as follows:

sudo apt-get install remmina remmina-plugin-data remmina-plugin-nx remmina-plugin-rdp remmina-plugin-telepathy remmina-plugin-vnc remmina-plugin-xdmcp

Still getting the Segmentation fault error.

Ubuntu :: What Is The Default Password For Lucid?

Apr 12, 2011

I have Tango Studio installed on a usb stick which i wish to install alongside my current Maverick install. I booted up into it but when i click on the "install tango studio" icon i get asked for a password. I have searched google and i have not been able to find anything about this. It doesn't appear anywhere on their website and before someone says to ask on their forums i can't as their forums are not in english. I used start up disk creator to make the usb install but couldn't boot into it at first. I did some searching and found out that creating a usb install in maverick isn't backwards compatible. There was a simple solution which got me into the live mode, pressing tab, typing in live and then enter. I wonder if this is the reason why i am being asked for the password when i get into the live desktop? I have never had to put in a password before. I have tried a few generic passwords but no joy so i don't know what to do. Is there a default password that Ubuntu uses that would work for me so i could finally get it installed?

Fedora :: Change Default Keyring Password In F11?

Nov 4, 2009

How do I change my default keyring password in F11?

The instructions from here no longer work:

Code:
$ yum search gnome-keyring-manager
Loaded plugins: dellsysidplugin2, fastestmirror, refresh-packagekit
Warning: No matches found for: gnome-keyring-manager
No Matches found
Longer story:

Somehow I got my keyring and login passwords out of sync. I went to change my login password using passwd on the terminal. I meant to change it to (let's say) "abcdef" but typed "abcdfe" twice. Realizing my mistake I tried to used passwd a second time to change it to "abcdef", but passwd complained that the new password was too similar to the old. So I used "su -c 'passwd myusername'" - I was able to change my login password but I guess this did not update my keyring password. I've tried changing my password using passwd as myself (not root) to something completelydifferent, but my keyring password remains the first password (e.g. "abcdfe").
