General :: Run An Executable File (.exe) From Matlab In A Enviroment?
Jun 22, 2011
I have a computer with Windows and I am running a Matlab program remotely in a Linux server. That (matlab) program will use an executable file (.exe) to analize some data; and that data will be used as input to a program that I can only run in the linux server.I need to run an executable file (.exe) from matlab in a linux enviroment. Is this possible?
I have an ISO file of MATLAB and I want to extract it to be able to run the installer. I'm not the admin of the computer and there is no 7-zip or file-roller. It has isoinfo but I don't how to use it to extract the whole ISO file and apparently I cannot mount the ISO too. way to extract the iso file?
I am running into a snag on .exe files in Lucid. I have Wine installed, but I can not open the file as it is blocked from executing with a window popping up telling me that this file was blocked due to security reasons. I go into the files properties and try to change the permission but that does not help. Is there a way to get around this? Possibly in the terminal as root?
some of the programs that i downloaded are launched with a linux executible file and i don't know how to make it work, how do i execute it double clicking doesn't help it just asks me which program i would like toopen the file with
I have created a file named as pm under the path /home/ppp/ i.e. /home/ppp/pmTo make it executable, I've used command: chmod a+x /home/ppp/pm while residing in root directory. But while trying to run from root by typing ./pm or within the directory /home/ppp, it was displaying that directory not found. Please help by providing the step by step procedure, so that I would be able to run my file from root or from the directory.
i run this command on file : chmod u+x recon (recon is the name of the file). then i run the file in question (. recon). i just want to stop it; how to do this ?
i am using classpath-0.98,jamvm-1.5.4 and arm9 cortex processor. so my question is after install classpath and jamvm on arm9 , i am getting around 30MB FAT file. so tell me some tips how to reduce the size of FAT file as much as possible.
when I delete a running executable or script, it usually (for me, pretty much always, but I don't know if it will work in every case) continues to run without any problems. So I've got two questions here: Where is the running executable/script being run from? RAM memory? If stored in RAM or where ever, is there a way to extract the executable/script from that location? If it makes any difference, I'm using Ubuntu 11.04.
I just installed XMMS and I want to create a shortcut on the desktop to run it. I found a how-to video for creating shortcuts so I have the gist of it (I was able to create one for Firefox) but I don't know where to find the executable file for XMMS to do the same. I just don't know enough about Linux's file structure to know where to look.
I want to run an executable file during or post linux installation which take input from user and closes on click of "ok" button. The thing i want to accomplish is something like the screen that turn up during the installation, like setting time or selecting some packages and then pressing next button...i want to do a similar stuff like the above said using my applicatio
I downloaded a program called tonespace http://www.mucoder.net/en/tonespace/ which I extracted and then tried to execute the executable file with ./tonespace. This gives me the following message:
bash: ./tonespace: No such file or directory
When I use the command: file ./tonespace I get this: tonespace: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked (uses shared libs), for GNU/Linux 2.6.15, stripped
I dont get it. The file is clearly there, yet when trying to execute it bash doesn't seem to recognize it.
It has permissions rwxr-xr-x and is not owned by root. Am I overlooking something?
I'm new to Linux world. I'm using Ubuntu 9.04. I'm unable to go online using Ubuntu because I'm unable to run an executable client application provided by my ISP. I called them and they are not able to help me instlling this client applicatoin for me on my Ubuntu. "I cannot go online untill I install this ISP client application on my Ubuntu." I'm entering my ISPs weblink in this blogpost so that it would be easy for you guys to help me resolving this issue. http://www.spacenetindia.net/download.php This is the weblink where I downloaded that ISP client application from. I clicked on this link and clicked on 24online clients.exe tab located on the left and downloaded linuxclient.gz. Please help me if you find any resolution for this issue. Though I tried downloading Wine but I could not as I cannot go onlnie in Ubuntu. In windows I don't know how to install wine to make it work offline in ubuntu.b
I am very new to linux. I just got the dual boot working a couple of days ago. Now I downloaded MATLAB (2009b) from my university website. It came in a zip file...well I have no clue how to install it. I looked at the instruction manual, it doesn't really explain much.
I am trying to install matlab onto my personal laptop. When I start to download I get a file "download_agent" I have updated my java to the most recent edition and when I run "javaws download_agent" I get this error :

Cannot write to preference file "matlab.prf" in "/home/jiangmi/.matlab/R2010a".Check file permissions.every time i run matlab by typing matlab in the terminal,i see this error messagei can run some m files, but i can not use ctrl+A to copy, etc.when i view the permission, i find below:
jiangmi@jiangmi-laptop:~/.matlab/R2010a$ ls -rl total 1368 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1265183 2010-06-05 20:04 toolbox_cache-7.10.0-2356054188-glnx86.xml
I am trying to install matlab R2011a student edition in Fedora 15, 64 bits system. This version of matlab do not support 64 bits linux out of the box, but can be installed by adding -glnx86 as an argumenof the installing script.
However after running the installation script I receive the following error message: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: /tmp/mathworks_32316/java/jre/glnx86/jre/lib/i386/xawt/libmawt.so: libXext.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
It seems to be a problem with libXext.so.6, however, I do have libXext library installed in my computer. The name of the package I have installed is: X.Org X11 libXext runtime library libXext-1.2.0-2.fc15 (x86_64)
I recently Installed Matlab and it keeps giving me this permission error, even after running the following command.
sudo chown -R ${USER}:${USER} ~/.matlab Cannot write to preference file "matlab.prf" in "/home/"username"/.matlab/R2010a". Check file permissions. Cannot write to preference file "matlab.prf" in "/home/"username"/.matlab/R2010a". Check file permissions. The desktop configuration was not saved successfully
I have NDISWRAPPER installed on my laptop, but when I try to install the download file which is a Windows Xp dos executable file of 8mbs I have tried every thing but without success I can see my Iomega 250 Zip drive when I go into system>administration>disk utilities and acess properties but cannot make it run,
In a project I'm working on with a few other people, I got the task of writing an assembler. The last thing I do is convert the commands into a binary representation, and jam it into a file. Now one of my teammates said he'd like to be able to "reference" the code within another program. He said he'd be able to do this if the file I output is a Linux object file. I'm thinking it'd also work as an executable. Anyway, he said he'd like to be able to grab the file and reference the binary by address. I'm still fuzzy on this, and if you're confused with what I said here, please tell me so I can ask him for better details.Anyway, I'm aware that gcc can compile files to ".o", but that's only for C/C++, and my file is just binary. I'm also aware of "ld", but I haven't seen any use of it to help me. I'm happy to hear suggestions as to what I can do. If anything, I think I'll implement a few functions to grab the bits and hand them to him in an array or something.
I tried to mex two C files under matlab but faild. The system warned stdc++ cannot be found. I need the mexa64 files urgently. if someone can mex the C files using his/her machine. My server runs Debian GNU/Linux and the Matlab version is 64-bit R2010b. So the extension for the generated file would be mexa64. I'm using hotmail with the same user name as in here.
