Oct 31, 2010Im using firefox version 3.6.12 and it functions fine. However when i use the latest version of this addon https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...11377/#reviews the screen goes grey and firefox crashes. Restarting firefox only results in more crashes. I had a older version of this addon-1.5 i believe that worked fine.

Mar 14, 2010I'm a bit confused but not surprised by this problem I'm having. I liked the look of the FoxTab addon for Firefox (Swiftfox actually but I don't think it should make any difference) mostly for homepage thing it has which is similar to the Chrome/Safari opening page.
I followed the FoxTab instructions for using this page when I open a new tab and that works fine, and then (as instructed) changed my homepage to 'about:blank' but this only works when I click the homepage button.When I open a new Swiftfox session it doesn't come up with anything (just a blank page -

Dec 16, 2010I am running Ubuntu 10.04 64-bit with Firefox 3.6.13 (from the repositories) and I can't seem to get the Firefox Sync AddOn installed.The addon can be found at:Whenever I try to install it, it comes up with a download error (see attached screenshot). I am running the same version of Ubuntu (albeit 32-bit) and Firefox on my laptop, and I can install it just fine on there. This leads me to think that this problem must have something to do with the 64-bit version.

Sep 17, 2010ubuntu lucid, firefox 3.6... but it seems the firefox 3.6 is not a complete 3.6 as its gecko is 3.0...; so whenever i want to install a update that is for ff >= 3.5, i always get, that this addon is not available for ff 3.0... my question:
1. is it normal that the ff 3.6 is running on gecko 3.0 on ubuntu? cuz in windows the ff 3.6 also has the 3.6 gecko
2. if so.. how can i update that gecko?
Fedora :: Unable To Get Last Pass Firefox Addon To Work Correctly On F15 / FF4
Jun 17, 2011Since moving from centos 5.6 to fedora 15 a week ago I have been unable to get Last Pass firefox addon to work correctly. Those of you familiar to last pass will probably have seen the error message before in a variety of situations, namely "An error occurred while attempting to contact the server. Please check your internet connection." This error appears as soon as you log in (which it does manage to do) but instantly loses authentication - seems like the cookie expires almost instantly and therefore all saved sites/passwords require re-authentication with LP to use.
No network configuration has altered since the OS change, but F15 comes with firefox 4 rather than 3.6.x in centos. I know the last pass plugin should work with FF4 and have read suggestions about SSL/TLS version settings (which are 3.0 and 1.0 respectively) and disabling SELinx. Neither of these have made any difference.

Jan 3, 2010Need a few suggestions on how to remove context menu and menu (Tools, etc...) icons from within Firefox. I somehow removed all icons for every extension and addon within Firefox on Windows7, but forgot what I did. It would be nice to know how to do this on Ubuntu... migrated over to Vmware to test out and I always like a clean look.

Dec 17, 2009When I search addons with firefox, it takes 4 mins to connect to server, and after approving to ad it, it again takes that much time to connect to download. While downloading it's ok, but connecting to server takes time. This is for all addons. Is there any body having same issue?

May 19, 2010I am running Ubuntu 9.04 and need to access government sites that require a cac card login. I followed every instruction posted [URL] on how to set up the cac reader, but it is not working in firefox. Pcsc_scan detects the card reader and the card when it is inserted with the following output:

When I loaded the device in firefox's security devices, it loaded fine without any error, but does not allow me to login (the button is disabled). In the Details pane the status is shown as "not present".
Fedora :: Firefox And Adobe Reader 9.1.2 - How To Set Path
Oct 4, 2009I have successfully installed Adobe Reader 9.1. It shows up in firefox as a plugin properly. It does not show up in edit->preferences as an Application (not sure if that matters). However when I click on a PDF to download, I get an error in the browser:
"Could not launch Adobe Reader 9.1.2. Please make sure it exists in PATH variable in the environment. If the problem persists, please reinstall the application."
I put the /opt/Adobe/Reader9/bin in my PATH in ~/.bashrc and even rebooted to make sure all was set. I still get the same message. Where do I set my PATH to make this work?

Since a week or two, clicking a link to a pdf file will not load in Firefox. I tried removing Adobe Reader and reinstalling it. Then the pdf files loaded, but now again they will not load. It just stopped working! No error messages.

When I try to run either the install automatically or manually it fails when it is run though the installer, when I attempt to install manually I get popup notification that flash is already installed. Why OS thinks I still need to install it and how to correct this issue?

Specifically from firefox: Edit-Preferences-Advanced-Encryption tab-Security_Devices-Load;
Enter arbitrary name and "/usr/lib64/libcoolkeypk11.so" as the module.
This worked fine in fedora10 and was the necessary step to getting a card reader to work with firefox. In fedora11 (with firefox beta) the browser just comes back with nothing, it doesn't even respond. Note I am familiar with the concept of pki and certificates as well as certutil, pkcs11_inspect, pklogin_finder, etc. Also note utlities like pkcs11_inspect and pklogin_finder and esc all work and communicate with the reader and read the contents of the card but smart card login configured via the authentication applet (as working in fedora 10) is not working either.

First off, I have been having disk error problems with Ubuntu, and I think that a file that involves the bookmarks was corrupted. I did remove and reinstall the latest firefox package with Synaptic and apt-get (they do the same thing right?) But I still have this problem: I can not add or modify my bookmarks in the toolbar. I can go to the window to organize my bookmarks but its like nothing is there on the left main view box or the right that shows the bookmarks. If I try to import or restore, it does nothing.

When I try to open any nfs-mounted file using OpenOffice, I get a pop-up window titled "Document in Use". The text of the message is:
"Document file 'abcde.odt' is locked for editing by:
Unknown User
Open document read-only or open a copy of the document for editing." I then have three options - <Open Read-Only>, <Open Copy>, & <Cancel> If I cp any of these files from the mounted directory to my home dir (not mounted), I can open them without problem.Also, my firefox & thunderbird date are in this mounted directory as well (sym links to ~dan/.mozilla & ~dan/.thunderbird). Both of these apps hang when trying to open, leaving two processes behind that need to be manually killed. Again, cp'ing the data out of the nfs-mounted dir onto a local dir resolves the issue, so I am 100% confident there is nothing missing or corrupted in the firefox &/or thunderbird data...
