View 3 Replies View RelatedSwitching workspaces in Sauerbraten
just love the game, I play when things are quiet on the system. but I can not figure out to swap workspaces. the ctr-alt-right/left doesn't work in Sauerbraten. I run it in it's own workspace, but when I need to change to the other workspace with all my "work" apps I have to exit the game (sometimes right in the middle of a roll) and then I can switch to the work workspace
needless to say, in the middle of lost, level 9 or any others. it's a bummer to have to quit out to deal with a 30 second issue.
I've got the justice edition of sauerbraten, from the tarball on their website (though I didn't have to compile it). Occasionally, when I run it on multiplayer, a map will freeze it. I can't get to a tty unless I first type alt+sysrq+r to release keyboard control from x. Then, I can do ps aux | grep sauer to find it's pid to kill, yet it still gives nothing on x. I then kill all kde things, do sudo service gdm stop and sudo service gdm start, which gets me back to a usable desktop, but weird things will go wrong, like fonts will be the wrong colour. So, to get it back to normal, I have to restart. Is there any way (preferably without actually killing x) of getting my screen back without restarting? I have an integrated intel graphics card, and sauerbraten normally runs at an allright speed.

Unfortunately, Linux drivers are not provided for these mice.Is there an equivalent wireless mouse that works well in Linux? Ideally with native support or community provided drivers, etc.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe new scroll tab that 11.04 has appears when you hover over the orange area on the scroll bar. The scrolling arrows are gone.Well this scrolling tab often vanishes before I can click on it to scroll down. Is there a way to revert to the old style, like the scrolling mechanism on these forums? It is nice to have the option of the arrows on top and bottom, along with the scroll tab thing.

View 4 Replies View Relatedwhen i used firefox there was a up and down arrow at the side of a web page so i could scroll slowly up or down,i am now using peppermint ice and the default browser is chromium which i like but there is no up or down arrow, does anyone know if there is an extension to put the arrows there?
View 2 Replies View RelatedUsually but not always, when I try to scroll down by clicking in the vertical scroll bar - instead of going down approx 1 screen firefox slowly and jerkily and out of control goes all the way to the bottom of the page. If it is a long page I wait a long time.
The wheel on the mouse works fine, moving the vertical scroll handle with the mouse works fine, pushing the down arrow also works fine.
Alternatively - sometimes the vertical scroll works as I expect it to.
Alterntively - when I use Opera it scrolls as I would expect.
I'm using Xterm. While running a prog/command if I scroll up and reading something on the screen, the xterm view resets to bottom if there is some output from the running command.
I tried enabling/disabling jump scroll, asynchronous scroll, scroll to bottom on tty output options of Xterm with no avail. In one way or the other way, the screen is scrolling or resetting to bottom if there is some output to screen.
I want to stop this behavior and the scroll should work as if it is in Konsole. The new output to screen should simply add at the bottom and the current viewing point should remain unscrolled. pls let me know if there is any working solution for this xterm problem.
I recently installed Fedora 12 for some Linux testing. When I switch between virtual terminals (CTRL-f1 Ctrl-f2) I can no longer scroll back in the VT I left and came back to. Any new data created will be scrollable, but i can never get back to before the switch. I'm sure this used to work (several years ago). Was this introduced as a security feature to prevent left over data on VTs from being seen by the wrong eyes? If so, is there a way to get the old functionality back?

How can I adjust the scroll sensitivity?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using a Linux machine with a KVM switch at work, and I commonly use emacs while switching between that machine and my other machine. I typically use the keyboard shortcut to swap between machines on the KVM, which is the key sequence: Scroll Lock, Scroll Lock, Up or Down. If I have an emacs window on top on Linux and hit these buttons, it will trap the Scroll Lock key presses and trigger a system beep from the CPU speaker. The KVM still switches, but on occasion, after the switch, it will register Scroll Lock as being stuck pressed, and so I'll be treated to an earful of system beeping. I have to switch back to the computer to get it to stop.Is there something I can put in the .emacs file that will prevent the program from beeping when I hit Scroll Lock with the window on top?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a lil' problem with a new project. I'd like to find out how to set the ability to change to the next track in a playlist by using ongly the scroll wheel of a standard usb mouse. The objective is to assign a keystroke or a command to both mouse button 4 and mouse button 5 (scroll wheel up and scroll wheel down), so that a program like rythmbox or vlc would skip to the next or previus song in the playlist.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy mouse wheel scrolls 3 lines at a time !
I tried this, it didn't succeed.
Something wrong happened with my sound applet. It regulates my sound volume on each mouse wheel scrolling, even if applet is not active. What's the reason for this? Recently I didn't make any changes in systems configuration. Tried to create an empty user folder and login there - problem still exists, so it is not a wrong configuration in users folder... what could it be?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a system with 10 drives running Linux software RAID using RAID 6. Today the system stopped responding and needed to be hard power cycled. The filesystem on the RAID (note, not the root filesystem, that's on its own drive) is in tact and the data is still there.
But I noticed during the boot sequence this:
The first part didn't surprise me, it just seemed that a drive dropped out. No big deal, RAID is designed to handle just that. But that last bit concerned me. I didn't like the term "capacity change" on my RAID.
As I said before, the filesystem is fine. No change from before:
But /proc/mdstat says this:
Notice the [10/9]. I've seen it say [9/10] when a drive mistakenly dropped out before. And after re-syncing it went back to [10/10] as expected. But does this mean something different? Is there something else that needs to be done besides just letting this finish? Has the RAID somehow changed its shape in some way?
I have faffed around with my hardware & software, and now when i fire up i get code...

When menus in gnome are too long to fit on screen, there appear two arrows in the menu, one at the top and one at the bottom. When I hover over the down arrow, it starts scrolling, but when I then try to click on one of the items, it jumps back to the original position as soon as the cursor leaves the down arrow.
This is very annoying, as I can't reach all entries in for example my preferences menu. Is there a workaround for this?
Would be nice to have a scroll bar appear on windows, is that possible? or maybe scroll the whole desktop? kinda difficult to alt+rightclick+movetouchpad.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a php script which uses php mail to send us the results from a web form. If I set the email address to receive the form as my yahoo account I receive the email fine, however if I set the email address to receive the form as an address with our domain name we never get the email.
I have searched on google to see if I could find out what was happening and did see some references to issues where if the web server was sending an email 'locally' it didnt check the mx record. Which seems like whats happening - but I am not sure how to tell linux (centos) where the email for a 'local' email should be sent.
