I have an F13 updated with latest nvidia kernel modules on a Sony Vaio F12Z with nvidia 330M. Since yesterday I can't access the DE. The boot process stop at the end of playmot and doesn't enter the KDE.

The IVP6 setting is ignored in the Network Configuration. I have triggered it both ways.
As for the firewall configuration, well it freezes at the splash screen when invoked.
Fedora 12 is the first spin, since Fedora 9, that I was able to get any updates. Versions 10 and 11 could not access the internet with anything, no matter what was attempted.
BTW, I am using Mandriva 2010 to get through here.

Can anyone get the website below to work correctly with Firefox 3.5 and F11 64bit?[URL]...All I see is the background scrolling slowly and jerkily, none of the buttons at the bottom work. Anyone successfully installed AIR and iPlayer on F11?
I've switched to 32 bit Adobe flash, tried Autoten for AIR and Dangermouse's advice for iPlayer: url.html but it's not working, and trying to install AIR from url results in an endless busy downloading graphic .
I assume my problem is a lack of required packages, though I searched the repositories using YUM extender for the packages listed here: url.html and can't see them either as installed or available.
I want to install IBM Lotus Symphony on my 64 bit system, but yum only finds 32 bit version.

I have Intel Pentium Dual Core E2180 / 2 GHz processor. i just upgraded my system with 4 memory sticks i.e. 7GB of RAM due to my requirements. Now the issue that i am facing is that my 32bit fedora system does not showing and suppoting more than 3.XX gigs of RAM when i consult "/proc/meminfo", "free -m" and "top". Now i have done two thing, first i have installed a PAE version of kernel. In result of this my system become two slow with the following error at startup. Error: starting udev: wait timeout. will continue in the background <Failed> Secondly, i installed a 64bit version of Fedora 10 but still it showing not more than 3GB of memory. C: Drive as Windows 40 GB capacity and successively partitioned the rest of the drives for 50 GB capacity and left an unallocated space of 67 GB for fedora 13 x64 installation. The problem that I am facing is, that I am unable to install fedora on this unallocated space..even though I am checking the option for "Creating custom Layout". When I check the option for "Creating Custom Layout" Ive been shown with the only option to install fedora on the unused space on the HDD which is around 265 GB. I am also attaching a screen shot of my disk management. how I can install Fedora on this unallocated space of 67 GB?

First off, I want to say that I'm loving Fedora 13. The problem is, I have run Windows 7, Vista, OS X and Ubuntu on this custom set-up. They've all run very fast, without a hiccup, but for some reason Fedora 13 seems to be running very slow. View 3 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded my Dell e1505 Laptop from 2GB of memory to 4GB of memory. I upgraded because I was under the impression that x86 64-bit OS would be able to read that much memory.
Vista Ultimate 32-bit, reads 4GB installed, but only 3.2GB of physical memory. Which I understand, being a 32-bit OS.
Fedora 10 x86 64-bit though, also only sees 3.2GB
p.s. - Could it possibly be that I bought the wrong memory? The memory that came with my laptop was DDR2 PC2-5300, but when I search on Dell.com to purchase memory using my service tag, I get results for DDR2 PC2-6400 - which is what I bought. (Kingston HyperX 4GB (2 x 2GB) 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
I also did searches on xxx.crucial.com and xxx.newegg.com and both stated DD2 PC2-5300.
The following is what my BIOS reads:

- Memory Installed: 4096 MB

I'm running now fedora 6 in my laptop and i will like to upgrade to F11; i understand that the upgrade can be done only from F10 to F11;
Can anyone tell me the best way for me to upgrade from F6 to F11.
I had downloaded a DVD disk with Fedora 12 on it (~3.7 gig) therabouts. I used it to upgrade my F11 system to F12 or so I think. Well to make a long story short, it had installed approx 1435 files on to my computer. I never so it finish up the process because my moniter timed out and I could get it back on after it had blanked out. So I rebooted the computer (after I had removed the DVD). It showed F12 booting up but the splash screen with logon was F11's. After I logged on my nvidia driver was gone along with compiz and Avant. So I followed 'leigh123linux' response on 'Nvidia' and get it reinstalled and working along with Avant, and compiz and my rotating cube desktop. I did a yum clean to cllean up the packages and ran yum update again to refresh what may have not been installed. It show a couple hundred packages needed to be upgraded and also had alot of 'dependency' errors' for a lot of the packages. That's where I stand now. Is it 11 or still 12? Did the DVD upgrade work? Who nows.
