View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I try playing DVD's in Media Player/Totem the video is choppy and does not sync with the audio. When I started looking at it in detail I see Totem is using up 95% of the CPU which kind of explains it doesn't it. But it still shouldn't be doing this. I then tried the same DVD's using Gnome Media Player and all is fine, perfect video/audio and normal CPU usage.
View 1 Replies View RelatedYesterday my flash was upgraded to 10.0.45.2

Does anyone know what the previous version was and how I can reinstall it?

View 4 Replies View Relatedi just installed ubuntu, latest version. i accepted the default media player. when i had windows installed, i was able to play videos at any level without any problems. the video player played very smooth whether it was in ..... or any other site. i took windows off, installed ubuntu, and now, the video is extremely choppy. the audio is fine, but the video is like it is playing 1 frame a second, instead of 30 frames a second. is there a better media player than the default? is there a setting i can adjust, like a buffer or something? i think the default is rhythmbox music player? for the video.

It's the whole reason I upgraded my processor. When I upgraded I noticed an improvement, but it was still a little choppy. I then went to the Adobe site and got the latest version of Flash, and lo and behold, I could watch Hulu Desktop on HD quality with no problem!
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm getting choppy playback in flash, 32bit. It's fine until I go fullscreen. Anyone have any ideas? I was thinking of installing the 64bit version of opensuse. My experience of Flash at 64 bit on Ubuntu was very stable and choppy free. I'm running Core 2 Duo Processor with and ATI Radeon and 2 gig of ram.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm running an athlon II X2 on a Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H motherboard Graphics are running on the Radeon HD 4200 on the motherboard. System has 2 GB of RAM. I recently did a clean install of Ubuntu 9.10. I previously had 9.04 installed and flash video ran completely smoothly, and the CPUs wouldn't even come out of 800 MHz power save mode.
Since upgrading to 9.10, flash runs choppy and the CPUs max out every time there is a lot of movement on full screen videos. On 9.04 and 9.10 I was running the ATI proprietary FGLRX hardware drivers. I've tried re-installing the ATI drivers and flash. I've also disabled compiz desktop effects.
Im running Xubuntu 9.10 on my compaq v2000 laptop. My problem is that the video stream playback is very choppy. Whenever I play flash video or a video in VLC the pictures seems "choppy" and slow as if it was laggy. What could be causing this? I am guessing its a video issue? Maybe something todo with refresh rates and stuff like that.
Acer 5742 laptop with Intel HD Graphics. In Xubuntu 10.10 whenever I have display compositing enabled, flash becomes slightly (but noticably and annoyingly) choppy. With hardware acceleration enabled, there's a horizontal line about an inch from the bottom of the screen that is fairly distorted, and with hardware acceleration disabled, it affects the whole screen but to a lesser degree.

View 8 Replies View RelatedRunning ubuntu 9.10 on an hp pavilion 2000 laptop, with 2.5GB of ram and a dual core (i think). Works at perfect speed with everything, except when I'm tyring to watch a flash video which slows everything down and gets choppy, especially when in full screen. From looking around online I see some people blaming adobe and some people blaming NVidia drivers. Get the impression the problem is a bit of both.
Funny thing is it worked a lot better with the drivers that installed automatically with the ubuntu install, soon as I put the updated nvidia drivers on it started screwing up. how I go back to those default drivers? Tried unchecking the drivers listed in Hardware Drivers, but when I restarted was stuck in very low resolution, so I'm guessing that's not the same as the drivers used after installing the OS.
Is the Flash Player RPM provided by Adobe the installation package for the player and browser plugin or is it the Yum download?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have installed and reinstalled flash player several times, but nothing works. What happens is anytime I try to play a flash game, the audio lags about 2-3 seconds. View 7 Replies View Relatedwhen pdf files didn't load into firefox (problem still not solved), i tried to remove mozplugger, of which there were two instances in plug-ins. i first though flash-plugin was the culprit, so i removed it. but it wasn't. so i removed nsdiswrapper and then, i could remove both mozploggers (same version) i*still had icedtea, and itunes application detector, which i*found no way to remove since there is no file name associated with it in add-ons, plug-ins (rather weird, if you ask me).
so i reinstalled mosplogger, flash-plugin 32 bit and nsdiswrapper (i*don't remember in which order) and now not only pdf files don't load in firefox, or any viewer, but i can't watch flash even at videos, which is rather reliable flash-wise. i receive this error message:
you need to upgrade your adobe flash player to watch this video.
i*still have 2 mozplugger instances.
what's my next step? i*checked google for this error message and found nothing relevant.
p.s.: flash-plugin is, of course, the latest release:
flash-plugin-10.1.102.65-release.i386
i loaded the YUM suggested by fedora and adobe. the install went well and worked during that time during the next and all restarts after the flash player no longer works infact all websites requiring flash say it si not even installed. I tryed to reinstall it and it said it is already installed and to cancel.
