View 5 RepliesIs it possible to download the same torrent from two different operating system, or at least from two different Linux on the same computer, and have it updated? I have Ubuntu installed on one partition, the other is Fedora. Transmission is installed on both Linux.
View 6 Replies View RelatedTorrents work fine on all other machines including on a VM within the affected laptop.
No matter what client I use, nothing ever downloads. For example, right now Transmission says "Downloading from 0 of 0 connected peers - Idle" while WinXP in a virtual machine is downloading at 500 kb/s.
Like I said, it's only one this laptop, with all clients, and it works on a VM.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm currently running a dual boot system of Win XP & Ubuntu 9.1. When first installed, about a month ago, all was working fine then I started running the update manager and for a while that was good also. Suddenly I started having problems, for example, I couldn't download new software. I kept getting a message about waiting on other software managers or something. (since the re-install that is no longer an issue). Next I was having problems installing updates for some reason. Apparently something got corrupted. When my wife tried to boot up the computer last night we got a message that had to do with the kernel and Ubuntu wouldn't load at all and I wound up re-installing the OS.
Obviously something got screwed up with some of the updates and now that I've got Ubuntu up and running again I'm afraid to download ANY updates at all. What is a person to do if you can't trust downloading updates from supposedly trusted sources? My attitude now is, if it ain't broke don't fix it.
I couldn't find a Code::Blocks download for openSUSE 64 bit on their site, does it exist or should I just go with another C++ compiler?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have done a new install of Fedora 14 but the RTL8191 wirless card is not being recognised. Realtek have provided the driver source but the make operation is failing because (I think) Fedora 14 isn't provided with the kernel source to enable it to complete successfully.
Basically (in easy to understand steps): how do I download correctly the Kernel source to enable the driver make operation to proceed?

Got PGP 6.5.8 for Linux working with Ubuntu 10.10. It involved converting two .rpm files to .deb with the alien utility and then installing by simply double clicking on the .deb files in the file browser invoking the Ubuntu Software Manager. I put the two .deb files in a tarball (tar.gz) and would like suggestions as to how to make the tarball available for other Ubuntu users to download.
