I am new to Linux and I am trying to convert image files to mpeg video I tried using this command images2mpg -o Vorticity.mpeg -i Vorticity-Magnitude0%d.jpeg I get an error as below bash: images2mpg: command not found
I have some videos made with a digital camera in mjpeg format and I want to convert so something else, into xvid, mkv or I dont know, just to made them smaller without quality lose. So is there something GUI for this, or I need to start reading the mencoder man page?
I need to convert an mpeg into a series of still images but I cant find any software on linux to do this unless you know of any software that can convert video into vector style graphics
downloaded dvdrip from synaptic, got all dependencies, got the css library... When I click the button to collect the table of contents (DVD's info from the DVD, it seems), it just flat out fails. I get a warning dialog with this message: "Job 'Read TOC (lsdvd)' failed with error message: Error reading table of contents. Please check your DVD device settings in the Preferences and don't forget to put a DVD in the drive. The log looks like this:
I have been having a problem with K9 Copy whenever I try to convert a DVD to MPEG files using the method without encoding, but for some reason lately it seems to be splitting each episode into about 6 or 7 pieces instead of just one. I never usually have a problem with this, but for some reason it seems to be doing this whenever I try to rip something. On a side note, I am running on Obuntu 9.10 and have K9Copy version 2.3.0 installed. I have tried installing several other versions, but it does the same thing with each.
I have been searching the forums with limited success on how to convert MTS files to MPEG. I have been able to open the MTS file with OpenShot and KdenLive but they aren't really for converting files or at least I haven't figured out how to do it. Is there a simple GUI tool to convert these MTS files quickly and easily?
I am running 10.10 64-bit and am trying to get an option in WinFF to convert an MPEG file to an iPod compatible video. All of the HOT_TO guides I could find involve installing the FFmpeg libraries, which I have done as well as I could have. The problem is that within WinFF, I don't see anything different in the "Convert To ..." drop-down. The Wiki I am reading tells me to select iPod, but this isn't available. What do I need to do to get this to be selectable?

I'm trying to use convert, I have installed the imagemagick. I use this line:convert *.jpg test.pdf but I'm only able to convert to pdf 1 single jpg file, not multiple files at once. When there's more than one file, I get the following error: Segmentation fault
Recently I tried to convert a .flv file to an mpeg file using ffmpeg. Although I changed directory to the directory in which the.flv file resided FFMPEG said the file did not exist. However when I gave the "ls" command the file was present. Where is my mistake?
I have a couple of DVDs on my hard drive which I would like to convert. For examples I got some videos VTS_01_1.VOB, VTS_01_2.VOB and etc and I would like to convert those files to avi or mpeg does not matter for me just not to be in VOB format.
I can't get the MPEG decoder plug in so i can listen to my tunes that I have in itunes on my windows os. When I go search to find the plug in it searches for it but then says "Could not find plugin in any configured software source" Please help because I would enjoy fedora a lot better if i could listen to my music. I use to have Kubuntu, but I switched to fedora because Kubuntu was having the same problem. Once again please help, and remember I'm new.
Have a system that previously had F9 and F10 on it, with video hardware: Display controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS/GME, 943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03)
xorg.conf is using Driver "intel"
F9 and F10 would pass MPEG to the video card for accelerated decoding and playback and it worked just great in VLC, MPLAYER, etc.
F11 installed (fresh install, not upgrade) and the accelerated path seems to be gone. CPU utilization goes very high when playing back any MPEG video.
Additionally, the following information is observed coming out of MPLAYER:
MPEG-ES file format detected. VIDEO: MPEG2 1920x1080 (aspect 1) 59.940 fps 15000.0 kbps (1875.0 kbyte/s) ================================================== ======================== Opening video decoder: [mpegpes] MPEG 1/2 Video passthrough
[Code]....
It looks to me like the video driver is being queried whether it supports Mpeg PES colorspace, and the answer seems to be no, so then it falls back to software decoding.
I am having some trouble with xine, and because of this I cannot get any media player to work. When I try to play mp3's in Amarok, nothing happens and the song does not play. When I try to open xine, it opens a window that says
The stream 'There is no MRL' uses an unsupported codec: Video Codec: MPEG 1/2 (0x0) Start playback anyway?
Im new to Fedora and im already loving it. I only have one problem and that is that I can't play mp3 files. I use Rhythmbox 0.13.1 and it starts but when I play a mp3, It says that in need a mpeg 1 layer 3 plugin. I already found a tutorial that says that i need to install these.
I use a commercial finite element code to produce animated GIF files of my calculation results. In case you are interested, the code is COMSOL Multiphysics 4.0a, running on Fedora 13 x86_64. Note that the FEA code only has the option of saving movies as animated GIF files in Linux.
These GIF files tend to be quite large, and although they are adequate for my own use on my local computer system, I wish to convert these files into other standard formats of more manageable size. These smaller files would then be easier to distribute to others or to include in presentations and reports.
I would like to ask for recommendations for either GUI-based video player/conversion applications or command line codes that could, for example, convert from animated GIF files to MPEG files. I would prefer an application that allows for multiple input/output format choices as well as conversion options for changing the playback speed, splicing out a portion of the original animation, etc.
when i got play any movie or song i got some error which show below error:The playback of this movie requires a MPEG-1 Layer 3 (MP3) decoder plugin which is not installed.
Does anyone know of any software that will convert a few csv's into a single xml?I have a windows program that has been doing it up until now but the info is pulled from one of my linux servers and then sent back to it afterwards, im looking to script it all rather and keep everything on the linux box.
When I'm trying to play an .mp4 file I get the message "you need modules MPEG-4-decoder and H.264-decoder". When searching for these message is "cannot be found". I'm running Fedora13 32-bits.
