Fedora Installation :: Qt Package Configure Error - Headers And Libraries Not Found
Dec 11, 2009
I am trying to install kcachegrind and during the ./configure phase I got the following error:
Checking for Qt... configure: error: Qt (>= Qt 3.0) (headers and libraries) not found. Please check your installation!
Now I guess I have QT installed and I tried to do the following:
./configure --with-qt-includes=/usr/lib64/qt4/include
but that did not work either.. actually checking further I found that the folder include is missing in usr/lib64/qt4/ !!!!
i am trying to install: kiso-0.8.3 but when I try ./configure I recive this error >>>>>>>>>>
configure: error: Qt (>= Qt 3.2) (headers and libraries) not found. Please check your installation! For more details about this problem, look at the end of config.log
Anyone recompiled Empathy on Fedora? I have problem of configure and make as following:
checking for LIBEMPATHY... configure: error: Package requirements ( glib-2.0 >= 2.16.0 gobject-2.0 gio-2.0 >= 2.16.0 gio-unix-2.0 >= 2.16.0 libxml-2.0 telepathy-glib >= 0.7.31 libmissioncontrol >= 4.61 telepathy-farsight farsight2-0.10 gstreamer-0.10 ) were not met: No package 'telepathy-glib' found No package 'libmissioncontrol' found No package 'telepathy-farsight' found No package 'farsight2-0.10' found No package 'gstreamer-0.10' found
Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you installed software in a non-standard prefix. Alternatively, you may set the environment variables LIBEMPATHY_CFLAGS and LIBEMPATHY_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config. See the pkg-config man page for more details.
Trying to launch Second Life gives the following error message:
You are running the Second Life Viewer on a x86_64 platform. The most common problems when launching the Viewer (particularly 'bin/do-not-directly-run-secondlife-bin: not found' and 'error while loading shared libraries') may be solved by installing your Linux
This problem was easily found using search with solutions for Fedora 11.
The following information has been found for adding the 32 bit support to Fedora 11 but it does not work in Fedora 12.
The file created in the instructions below is a list of the 32 bit libraries. It is then called as input to yum to simply install them.
"Add the Libraries Next, add the 32-bit libraries by copying the following list, and pasting it into a text file. Save it as Fedora-ia32.txt."
Another post says that was all unnecessary as the following commands would do the same thing.
Could have simply been achieved by calling:$ yum install SDL.i586...(Or by selecting SDL.i586 in add/remove programs.)
The problem I have with Fedora 12 are neither of these will install anything in Fedora 12. Looking at add/remove programs does not yield anthing that looks like it is 32 bit support when searching with the argument "SDL".
Does anyone know how to install 32 bit support into Fedora 12 64 bit version ? I like the simple yum expression rather than long lists like the first example uses, but I'll try anything if it works.
A side question to this entire experiment is what chance would you give to Second Life being able to be run remotely using VNC? I would think if it runes on the Linux machine, using a remote terminal would have little impact. Using VNC isn't the usual way this will be run, I just wonder if it would work at all.
I am trying to build Pidgin on my Lucid install and on running configure, I get the following:
Quote:
configure: error: You must have GLib 2.4.0 or newer development headers installed to build.
If you have these installed already you may need to install pkg-config so I can find them. I tried installing pkg-config, but it's already in its newest version. I then tried going to the following website
[URL]
and downloaded and extracted glib on my computer. That changed nothing. I was hoping someone could tell me what's going on here. I just tried the this:
Quote:
sudo apt-get install libgtk2.0-0
and got
Quote:
libgtk2.0-0 is already the newest version. 0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
I've just installed clean copies of both VirtualBox v4.0.8 and Fedora 15. Now I have followed the instructions here : [url] to install the latest VBox guest additions.
Each time I try I get the following message:
The headers for the current running kernel were not found. If the following module compilation fails then this could be the reason. The missing package can be installed with yum install kernel-devel-2.6.38.8-32.fc15.i686.PAE.
However, if I run that command I am told there is no such package available. The guest addition installer continues seemingly OK, but after a restart they are not loaded.
I've just moved to Fedora from Ubuntu due to major issues with its new version.
I'm trying to compile gwenhywfar-2.6.2 on Slackware64 13.1. That's the error I get:
Code: checking if profiling is to be supported... no checking if OpenSSL should be used... yes checking for openssl includes... -I/usr/include checking for openssl libs... checking whether openssl is usable... configure: error: ssl libraries not found.
I'm trying to install ffmpeg however I always get an error when I run ./configure. I know xvid is compelled into the dir below, this is the output from the xvid make install.
Then from the ffmpeg directory I run ./configure --prefix=/usr --libdir=/usr/local --enable-libmp3lame --enable-libxvid --enable-gpl --enable-shared ERROR: libxvid not found
I tried to install Fedora 12 on my machine using the Fedora-12-i386-DVD and get the following error: /sbin/load_policy:error while loading shared libraries: lib/libsepol.so.1: cannot read the file data:input/output error exec of anaconda failed install exited abnormally [1/1]
When I try to rpm --resign a package I get file not found error. Its not misstyping its not doing any gpg stuff and it does not ask for passphrase.I then rpmbuild -ba --sign X.specIt makes all the files and dies right where it signs the filesWhy i know its the .rpmmacros it never asks for a passphrase! If I build without --sign it builds 100% and exits normally.
I'm pretty new at working with Linux/Unix systems, just started dealing with the CLI a week or two ago at work so bear with me if my questions/problems seem obvious, they probably aren't to me. URLs are at the bottom since I can't hyperlink to them. We have a server with Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.2 (Tikanga), x86_64 GNU/Linux. For the past few days at least (not sure when it began) every five minutes we get two messages for CPU0 and CPU1 saying: "Temperature above threshold, cpu clock throttled". Occasionally it says they are normal, so they're not *always* above the threshold but a majority the time.
The server doesn't have internet, so I interact with it and transfer files via ssh/telnet/sftp from my Windows PC to another server running Fedora release 10 (Cambridge) to the RHEL5 server. I have been trying to install lm_sensors to try and read the CPU temperature and possibly the fan speed, but every installation method has failed. I have tried installing it via the yum command I read about on this page (URL 1), but since it doesn't have internet access it didn't work. I then tried manually installing using the instructions on the lm-sensors.org page (URL 2), but whenever I try to install anything (gcc, libtool,
libsysfs) it shows: checking for gcc... no checking for cc... no checking for cl.exe... no configure: error: in '/home/user/src/libtool-2.4': configure: error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH
I then looked up how to install gcc, but when I found a .rpm file of gcc 4.1.2 for RHEL5 I tried installing that like it mentions here (URL 3), but there are lots of [dependancy] programs I can't find a .rpm for as it seems they are all outdated and hard to find for RHEL5. Do I need to find the installation CD in order to install gcc? And is there any other way to check the cpu temperature or to know how to disable/fix the messages about temperature being above threshold?
Today I was using Gchempaint (part of Gnome Chemistry Tools) and found that the F12 version fails miserably to correctly export H to xyz. So I decided to install the latest version I found (0.11). There are, however, some problems I must sort out during compilation.
Apparently it does not see my 'cairo' installation and so I get the following error message:
Code:
checking for cairo... configure: error: Package requirements (cairo >= 1.6.0) were not met: No package 'cairo' found
Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you installed software in a non-standard prefix.Alternatively, you may set the environment variables cairo_CFLAGS and cairo_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config. See the pkg-config man page for more details.
I installed a software that is used for modeling purpose. After installation, it showed me the following error.
error while loading shared libraries: libXm.so.3
I hope i need to install some libraries. While i searched in google, i found some postings telling i should intall libmotif3 and some postings telling that openmotif should be installed. I dnt know what to do now as i dnt find both these libraries when i try to install with yum.
Someone kindly write me how to get this libXm.so.3 installed in fedora10.
I have installed OpenSUSE 11.3 64 bit and want to install VMWare workstation 7.1. I have run the install script for VMWare without any issues. When I start the VMWare Workstation I get a window saying this: Before you can run VMWare, several modules must be compiled and loaded into the running kernel. Kernel Headers 2.6.34-12-desktop Kernel headers for version 2.6.34-12-desktop were not found.
I installed MATLAB R2009a in my laptop (Fedora 14 x86-64), the installation was succesful but when I run MATLAB (in a console), appears a message: error while loading shared libraries: libut.so: cannot enable executable stack as shared object requires: Permission denied
I find a "solution", execute in a terminal: execstack -c libut.so
I used several times with differents libraries that I needed, but I run MATLAB in a terminal, MATLAB starts in a terminal, only a prompt ">>" and nothing.
I installed Boost 1.43.0 on Fedora 12 32 bits, using standard build from the source code procedure:
./bootstrap.sh ./bjam ./bjam install
I see all Boost libraries in /usr/local/lib. Now I build my own program depending on the Boost libraries, and it is built successfully. However, when I try to execute my program, it shows "Library not found" message:
Code: [alex@localhost ~]$ sixfpdconsole
sixfpdconsole: error while loading shared libraries: libboost_system.so.1.43.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
[alex@localhost ~]$ ldd /usr/local/bin/sixfpdconsole linux-gate.so.1 => (0x009d1000) libboost_system.so.1.43.0 => not found libboost_thread.so.1.43.0 => not found
I'm just installed OpenSuse 11.3 (64) on a 30gb SSD, hoping to get virtualbox 4.0 running to virtualize an instance of Windows 7.I went through some pain with my Nvidia video card and actually getting vb to install, but through lots of searching and tinkering got here.I created a vm in the vb control panel, but when I go to start it I get:
Code: Failed to open a session for the virtual machine Win7Main. The virtual machine 'Win7Main' has terminated unexpectedly during startup with exit code 1.
I'm on F13 and I'm trying to compile a package from the source. The package is delasa (www.dalesa.lk) and when I ./configure. I get 'configure: error: openssl development libraries not found'. This is the output of 'yum search openssl | grep dev'
openssl-devel.i686 : Files for development of applications which will use globus-gsi-openssl-error-devel.i686 : Globus Toolkit - Globus OpenSSL Error globus-openssl-devel.i686 : Globus Toolkit - Openssl Library Development Files globus-openssl-module-devel.i686 : Globus Toolkit - Globus OpenSSL Module
Fedora 14 I recently went to install some software using the source files. When I ran the command ./configure I got a message saying that No package gthread-2.0 not found After searching the internet some one had the same problem. I needed to install a package called glib2-devel However, rather that searching the internet. Is there any yum command that can give me that information?
I'm using Ubuntu 9.10 'Karmic Koala' and when trying to install from source any program using C++, in this example kpictorial, I get this:
checking build system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu checking host system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu checking target system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c

I have qt3, qt4, the -dev packages and the headers and libraries installed. I have just about everything you can have for qt installed trying to fix this. The qt files are under /usr/include and the source code files are under /usr/src.
I get the following error message trying to install dazuko on xubuntu 10.04: "headers for target kernel version could not be found" But when I run sudo apt-get install linux-headers-$(uname -r), I get the message that I already installed the headers. My current kernel is 2.6.34-020634-generic
How can I install dazuko withouth having this problem??
I'm trying to compile mesa from git sources, and I get this error:
Code:
checking for LIBDRM_RADEON... no checking expat.h usability... yes checking expat.h presence... yes checking for expat.h... yes checking for XML_ParserCreate in -lexpat... yes checking for INTEL... no
configure: error: Package requirements (libdrm_intel >= 2.4.21) were not met:
No package 'libdrm_intel' found
Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you installed software in a non-standard prefix. Alternatively, you may set the environment variables INTEL_CFLAGS and INTEL_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config. See the pkg-config man page for more details I have an nvidia card, and had only built the nouveau drivers in libdrm-git. Now it seems mesa has an added requirement for the intel drivers. Also, mesa-git git ignores many compile options that I pass to it.
