gnome-mplayer --fullscreen file.avi opens file in the window, manually I can switch it to fullscreen but I need to start in fullscreen from command linemplayer -f file.avi opens in fullscreen from the beginning but if to play a list it shows desktop between files how to fix the problem with gnome-mplayer?
View 7 RepliesI recently setup my X to work well with the newer version of the ATI driver for my Radeon 3650, however no matter what I do, I can't get mplayer to scale to fullscreen. Something that xine has no trouble with. I have tried the x11, sdl, xover, gl, and gl2 outputs which all make no difference. Am I missing an output, or is something not working as it should? In particular, why is xine fine, while mplayer stumbles? As an unrelated question, it is possible to set mplayer to skip to a next file in a directory? From what I could tell, it does not seem to have this functionality built in.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI'm having some problems when playing back videos using Mplayer GUI. When I set the video to the full screen, the mouse pointer won't disappear. I cannot "hide it" either (by trying to move it in a corner of the screen) as it's still slightly visable.
When running videos in full screen using mplayer via command line, or any other GUI-based player (VLC, Xine), as soon as I don't touch keyboard/mouse for few seconds - the pointer disappears as it should. This is MplayerGUI issue-only.
I'm running Fedora 12.
Fullscreen video playback doesn't work in MPlayer. I don't know if or where this should be reported.

I think my usage of mplayer in the terminal is correct, since I can watch other URL's.It's only this specific one that doesn't work (I am not authorized to write the URL because they want it to be private.So my question is: Does anyone know why I get this loop? Or is it possible to see how mplayer is called by gnome-mplayer and what output messages it generates?I use gnome-mplayer 0.9.9.2 and mplayer 1.0rc4-4.4.5 on Ubuntu 10.10.

An little annoying problem. When i start firefox it starts in fullscreen mode. So the tabs to close, minimise, and the 3'rd to maximise have disappeared. On windows you hit f10 i believe to get these back. How do you do in firefox?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI use gnome-mplayer 1.0.0 and Totem Movie Player 2.30.2 to view videos Both read subtitles well from srt files. But both are not able to read {a6} command in the srt files.
NOTE:- {a6} command serves the purpose of putting the subtitles on top of the screen, making it possible for subbers to display lyrics/additional footnotes on top, while at the same time, having the dialogues to show in their usual position.
Is there are way to force either of them to read the special commands properly?
Does anyone else have the problem with Natty 64 bit, where when apps are opened up in full screen its not filling the screen properly, until the app in minimized & maximized again? Unity works fine, this is only an issue in classic mode.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe upgrade from 11->12 went very smoothly for me on multiple servers except for one seemingly small item that had me tearing my hair out for a few hours. Three of my machines are MythTV frontends, which rarely do anything else. As such, I have them fairly stripped down package-wise and run MythTV on GNOME with xorg-x11-xinit-session to kick it off via an .xsession script. This scheme has worked flawlessly for years across many versions of Fedora until last week when MythTV mysteriously would not start and the computer would just get stuck in an automatic login loop. I discovered that I could start MythTV after I logged into the GNOME desktop and through some testing and log inspection came to realize that it was PulseAudio that was not starting automatically. I also discovered that I could just SSH in while it was in this loop and issue 'pulseaudio -D' and the next automatic login attempt would start MythTV properly.
As a quick hack, I just tossed 'pulseaudio -D;sleep 3' into my .xsession script and it seems to be working for now. I am interested to know how it used to start up without logging into the desktop before the upgrade. Could this possibly be related to udev or dbus? I have practically no knowledge of those, but do see config files for both in the pulseaudio package.
Starting gnome-sudoku (after installing the packages gnome-games and gnome-games-extra) only results in the following message in my messages log :

I use Gnome mplayer but it freeze random when playing videos and just show a black screen without sound and if i simply press backward or forward button to send it 10 sec forward or backward it will continue to play video until it freeze again.sometimes it takes seconds to freeze and sometimes half an hour or more.

Try open any audio or video file there is nothing (the progress bar just shows "stopped"). However, Smplayer is working flawlessly for both video and audio files so I am sure it is not a mplayer problem

When I boot my Fedora 15 installation it shows me the blue screen with progress indicator, however I do not reach the login screen.Instead I see the textual shell where the last item is:Started Display Manager.It looks like my monitors are not detected anymore. I have been working with them though (this appeared after a restart). I am not sure how I determined it but I read in some log that no display was detected. Nothing changed to the hardware set up however.I see some suggestions to run system-config-display as root.However this command can not be found nor can it be found when I run yum install system-config-display.
