I have a CentOS 5 64bit cloud server at 1and1. The current version of PHP on it is 5.2.17. I would like to install 5.3.6, which is available from the Atomic repository. I'm using yum for all this but when I try to install the 5.6.3 package, I get the following.

I just did a yum upgrade (5.3 to 5.4) on one node of my three node cluster (RHCS), which did:

I want to import a key called PGP-public-key.asc, that is placed in the download folder to /etc/pki/rpm-gpg, but it fails. I tried both:
rpm --import /etc/pki/rpm-gpg/PGP-public-key.asc

rpm --import /etc/pki/rpm-gpg/home/my/Download/PGP-public-key.asc
I have read the man of ldif .In my attempt to build my current directory, I have taken a dump of my last successful implementation (which was created on FreeBSD 8.1) and substituted values for the dc=company and dc=com values with the correct ones for the current directory (attempting to implement under CentOS 5.4) and even tho the correct schemas are in place it is choking on entry.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIt would appear that novell openoffice 3.2.1.4 on opensuse 11.3 fails to correctly import pps/ppt files. Slide transition data is lost and this results in presentations without sound. This problem does not exist in openoffice from openoffice.org. openoffice from openoffice.org will play pps files with sound which will not play with openoffice from Novell. However the openoffice.org version requires JMF.
JMF is old and 32 bit. I have tested openoffice 3.2.1 from openoffice.org with JMF on a 32 bit 11.2 system and it works. I assume that JMF will not work with a 64 bit JRE. I also assume that it would be difficult to get a 32 bit jre to work with a 64 bit openoffice FMJ is an alternative to JMF. It plays various types of audio including mp3 and wav. It is packaged for installation on 11.3. Does anybody know if this works in place of JMF with openoffice from openoffice.org on a 64 bit system?
I've been using OpenSUSE 11.4 with GNOME for quite a while now and so far I've been a happy camper. This morning I decided to try GNOME 3 and the install went smoothly, with the only exception of rhytmbox(my music player of choice) not being available.Later I found rhythmbox for GNOME 3 in this repo: Index of /repositories/ GNOME:/ Apps/openSUSE_11.4+GNOME_STABLE_3.0.It works well but the Cover Art plugin won't load because it fails to import python-gstreamer.Should I report a bug against OpenSUSE 11.4 or maybe I am doing something wrong?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am running RHEL5 and I have just upgraded my RPM software manager from RPM version 4.4.2 to RPM version 4.9.0 (the latest version) by doing a clean install of v4.9.0. The version 4.4.2 came with the RHEL5 and at the moment is very old so I cannot install certain newer rpms. I followed the INSTALL instructions that comes with the tarball for V4.9.0. The problem is the new install (i.e. RPM V4.9.0) has no knowledge of my old RPM manager i.e. V4.4.2, hence it does not know of the rpm packages installed on my system.
I think the problem is that the V4.9.0 is a new install rather than an upgrade (There are no instructions on how to perform a 'real' upgrade). I have tried to rebuild the rpmdb for v4.9.0 but that does not help and I have no idea how to import the data from v4.4.2 database to v4.9.0 database. My question is, how do I import the database from RPM manager V4.2.2 into RPM manager V4.9.0 or how do I 'upgrade'properly from V4.4.2 to V4.9.0. I have trawled the internet for some guides but there does not seem to be anything regarding this.
Just trying my first live upgrade but hit an issue with not being able to import the GPG key for FC14:

I am trying to upgrade RH9 to F10. I have downloaded dvd iso image i386. The SHA1 integrity check passes. The installer fails media check due to "errors". I did an independent verification of the DVD and zero errors found. Download was from Fedora's own torrent, so files should be verified anyway. If I bypass the media check I get the message : Running anaconda 11.4.1.62 the Fedora system installer - please wait.....

I've recently upgraded to natty narwhal and made a clean install of many programs. For the most part, only a few programs needed any real fixing. Editra, however, does not seem to launch, and it looks to be a wxpython error:

I'm trying to install a dual booting machine with OpenSUSE v11.1 32bit and CentOS v5.2 64bit. I installed OpenSUSE first and allowed it to install and configure grub in the MBR and after that I wanted to proceed with CentOS v5.2. The installation went fine with two notable exceptions:- when I had to configure grub installation parameters, CentOS offered me only 2 solutions: either install it on the MBR of the first hard disk or not installing it at all. Other distributions are more flexible allowing you to install it in the boot sector of the root partition for example. Because I didn't want to ruin the existent grub onfiguration, I reluctantly accepted not to install it for CentOS assuming that I could manually configure the entry later in grub's menu.lst file.
- when I was presented with the options for software components installation, I've clicked on virtualization category/function because I intend to use the machine as a VMware host. There was no guidance on screen at that point and I blindly assumed that by choosing the virtualization function I would get necessary tools and drivers that will help me further on. It seems that this was a wrong move as you can see it below.
After completing the installation, I tried to search for a template or guiding on how the menu entry in menu.lst should look like but the grub directory was empty, not surprisingly because I've told CentOS earlier not to install it. Using the files in the /boot directory from the CentOS installation I tried to improvise a menu entry but it's not working. The boot stops with famous Error 13: Invalid or unsupported executable format. Using the file command to check what kind of files I'm trying to load as kernels I'm getting :

Everything else seems to be working (telnet to 110), and I turned off the firewall entirely, but I still cannot telnet to port 25. I apologize for not going directly to the qmailrocks forum, but they are currently closed down (due to lack of funds). I also am a newbie, so I apologize for the lack of needed information. View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a G3 Mac using the 6.06 PPC version of Ubuntu. The Update Manager stated there is the update to PPC 8.04 LTS so I went ahead and updated it. After 6 hours of downloading and updating, now it only boots to a blank/black screen as if it is trying to use a non-native resolution. One time I did hear the login (drum) sound but still nothing on the screen. Any way I can boot into a cli to troubleshoot this? During the entire booting process I only see black screens, a few text screens (yaboot, then another with Loading Please wait), one has the typing cursor at the top left for about 1 minute. I can hear the hard drive running and searching as if all is working and loading, just nothing on the screen.
I tried the same thing a few months ago and the only way to get it working was to put in the 6.06 alt PPC CD and format/reinstall.
In trying to upgrade from 10.04 to 10.10, the installation fails when checking software channels. The error basically says that there are breaks, broken depends and unmet dependencies. Yet Package Manager shows that there are no broken packages and mostly everything is running OK except for the Suspend option which doesn't work in 10.04 on a good number of various laptops. I am using an IBM Thinkpad R51 laptop with 1.5 GHz and 512 MB RAM. I have never had a problem like this with any Ubuntu upgrade in the past. How can I get past this problem and upgrade to 10.10? Log files available upon request. If log files needed, Someone on Launchpad said it's because I have third party software installed. But, this never happened before with previous Ubuntu upgrades.

For the last few releases, I've remained with Amarok 1.4, but now that I've deemed Amarok 2 stable enough, I've upgrade, however, the lyrics to my songs (which I put in a lot of effort in downloading), are not reflecting. Is there anyway to export lyrics from Amarok 1.4 and import them in Amarok 2?
View 1 Replies View RelatedUsing x11vnc server on Debian host, and TightVNC viewer client on Windows 7. All was working fine until a server host upgrade, from Wheezy to Jessie. Now, when I try to connect, TightVNC retrieves the certificate as normal, compares and accepts it, and starts stunnel. The next step would normally be to prompt for the VNC password.
Instead it gives an error:
ReadExact: Socket error while reading.
I'm guessing that some thing is missing or misconfigured after the Jessie upgrade, which broke many other things too, as Debian upgrades always seem to do. I have removed and reinstalled the x11vnc package, no effect.
The errors in the log file don't mean a lot to me.
The server is started with this command:

If I start it up without the -ssl flag, and connect from the Windows system with a different client (Mobaxterm) it all goes well.
