The reason is that, on Linux, I am running within proxychains - which doesn't bind to forked processes. Because the plugins in versions 3.6.5+ run in a forked process I can't use proxychains to redirect Flash streams. Is there a setting in modern versions of Firefox that allow me to run plugins in the main process?

View 1 Replies View Relatedthe project I'm working on requires parsing a text file with fields separated by the | char and using perl to insert/update a mysql database. Some of the fields are simple numeric and others are text fields. In some of the text fields I run into a problem creating a proper insert statement for the perl api to mysql if I don't escape the single quote (') char with a backslash (). I can take each text file and do a manual subsitutiton, but I would prefer to use the script that prepares the text file to do it for me. I've tried sed (ex: sed s/'/\'/g ) and it runs cleanly, but does nothing to accomplish my goal. I suppose I could write a function to read the file character by character and write it out that way, but it seems a waste.

Where can I find a php-mysql that works with MySQL 5.1? I checked the mysql website and can not seem to find any matches.
Relational databases usually have their data over in /var/lib/something. Users are in /home (with data in /var/www). How can I apply a single total disk space quota across all of these independent software systems (file systems, RDBMS, etc.)?

I'm attempting to run a cron job that runs a backup script at 11pm. It works great, but unfortunately it runs at 11:30 am.
I created the cron job using 'crontab -e', while logged in as root. My cron job line is : 0 23 * * 1,2,3,4,5 /etc/tjt_backup/collabnet_backup.sh
If I type 'date', I get the correct date/time in my timezone: Tue Mar 9 16:27:12 CST 2010
If I type 'clock', I also get the correct date/time: Tue 09 Mar 2010 04:26:57 PM CST -0.463330 seconds

I have 2 CPU 8 GB RAM server running MySQL & HTTP server with apps using LAMP architecture. Since last few days we are having some performance problems.While looking at the problem i came to know both mysql and http are almost taking 100% cpu time of a single processor and the second processor is free. redirecting the mysql load to one cpu and http load to the second one? These units were originally sold as a Point of Sales unit I believe, but HP also markets it as a high life cycle server for SMB market.I tried to load CentOS on this unit via CD (created from downloaded ISO of course). It presents the initial CentOS banner page and waits for the obligatory "enter" to continue. It begins the boot process up to discovering the PCI stuff and just locks up, no response. I have to power down to restart.Since this does not even get to the point of installing. I am at a loss what to do next. I have just taken on a dedicated server sitting somewhere in Norfolk. I have created a website that uses PHP to connect to another remote server in order to interrogate a MSSQL database. This script, running on Apache, uses a VPN connection to connect to the remote server.To test, I have Apache on my laptop at home and just used Microsoft Network Connection to create the VPN connection.I have now uploaded this site to my new CentOS server and need to create the same VPN connection. I understand this is a command level and have been advised to use OpenVPN which I have successfully installed.My problem is I only have the details remote ip address, username and password. I believe I have to use the 'client.conf' script instead of server.conf.

i am using liferay5.2(mysql included in the download pack) on fedora. while liferay is working fine but i cannot connect to mysql.i am getting the error

i didnt find the mysql.sock file in the location /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock. i cannot find the portal-ext.properties file also to make intial settings.
At least I think it's called single-user mode. I don't have a GUI for my CentOS install. It boots up to a terminal. The text is too big though. Is there any way to reduce the text size?

All of these 6 box are compute nodes and space are not used really. However, If I can combine 6 servershard disk that will in total 6*100GB gives you quite a bigger space. Is there any tool or ways to mount these drive in one volume instead of mounting individually ?
