I am working on a Centos v5.2 platform that does not have Yum installed. I am trying to install it via this method:
$ wget [URL
$ tar -zxvf yum-3.2.28.tar.gz
$ ./configure
$ make
$ make install
Sounds simple right? The "configure" script isn't included in the Yum archive.
Why is cx88-dvb no longer included in the CentOS 5 kernels found in centosplus?
It is present in all 2.6.18-92.1.x versions, but not in 2.6.18-128.1.x versions.
Now i want to create a resue disk for my Centos5.5i think mondoArchive tool is best for this job.i installed mondo by usingyum install mondoand it is intalled successfullybut i cant see it inApplication>sytem toolshow can i run it in a GUI mode.

I have a Virtualmin VPN plugin that needs Virtualmin to be updated to 5.10, but it seems when I updated PHP with the EL repos Yum is now reducing my available packages. I want to use the digital coax output from my M-Audio PCI soundcard, which appears to be detected and loaded. When I launch MPD, it autodetects an alsa sound system, but programs like alsamixer don't exist and I can't hear any sound out of the digital coax output. I haven't checked the 3.5mm stereo out yet.A little confused as to which documentation to be looking at at this point.

I've been using CentOS for a while now, mostly as a web server. Actually I use it as the base and installed Parallels Plesk Control Panel.
Anyway I want to setup a VPN and so far I haven't found any real solid documentation on how to do that! Yes I could install DAG/RPM Forge but what I really want to know how to do it from scratch. What I mean by scratch is that I want to download the tar.gz package from openvpn.net and then build it as required. I don't know much about building or compiling a package so that is why I have come here for help! I am guessing that I need to compile openVPN with openSSL and probably a few other packages... I could use openSWAN but I don't want to.
Is it possible to configure RHN in centos 5.1, use to manage the virtual machines through RHN. If possbile kindly specify which rpms are used for that.
