When I am right clicking on menu or clicking on main menu (system<preferences) nothing is opening.I tried reinstalling gnome desktop, python..and there is no use.What should I do now??I want to edit my menu.

I have 2 questions:
1. How do I edit the fedora/Gnome main menu? When I left click on Applications, etc. I am not given that option.
2. How do I change the login screen?
Shouldn't I be able to right click the "Main Menu" icon to edit edit the Main Menu? Or have I lost my marblesHow can I edit the Gnome "Main Menu" in Fedora 12?

View 4 Replies View RelatedNow i've lost possibility to enter my Fedora system. during boot it lost it's modern blue boot screen (with filling drop), it was replaced by standard old boot screen with triple-color stripe. after this boot screen monitor start blinking going on and off. and on last step i'm getting "Fedora 14 boot bla bla bla something" on screen....nothing works except Ctrl+Alt+Delete....system reboots showing successful daemons shutting sequence. View 1 Replies View Relatedupgrading to the latest kernel, which my Ubuntu 10.04 did automatically, I cannot shutdown, suspend, or restart from the main menu.In other words, I click ubuntu logo on the taskbar, click Shutown and select Shut Down or any of the remaining 2 options, but nothing happens. Just the menu window disappears.I had adjusted the power button of my notebook to shut down the computer and this works now.

One post I found talked about ROOT owning the directories, but not sure if that is the case with me or not.
I last asked this four years ago and got a response with a very lengthy script that had to be run at boot time, in terminal mode.
The icons for the main menu are not appearing and the option that allowed them to be displayed under the main menu window is not there anymore. How do I get my icons back, it is looking quite bare and boring without them.

I'm trying to set up my system(Ubuntu 10.04hat the main menu and its contents (application, places, system, etc) do not appear(or are hidden in such a way that the user cannot access it). This sounds counter-intuitive. I know. I tried deleting them by hand,but they reappear after every reboot. Is there a system file with preferences that I can edit or something else that can be done?
