The indicator area isn't alerting me of new chat messages or any events (the little grey envelope).I'm using 11.04 with Unity and Pidgin 2.7.11 and I have the Libnotify Popups plugin enabled. I did uninstall Empathy and Evolution but that shouldn't matter according to what I've read.

Is it possible? I was only able to disable the evolution notification at all, but that is not exactly what I want.
In ubuntu 11.04 unity, i miss the icon to show the desktop with just one click (like in the gnome-panel).
Is there a possibility to get the "show desktop"-indicator?
I installed the gmusicbrowser to check it out, however it seems to have taken banshees spot in the unity indicator.Even after uninstalling and purging the application it stays in there as a broken entry,.

View 3 Replies View Relatedi've just installed openSUSE 11.3 on my dell studio xps 1640. but i have problem with my WLAN . it's a WLAN 1640 mini-card and i think there is no problem with driver. because it seems that it's installed correctly but i can't see any wireless networks (it says "Device is not ready"). is there any suggestions?by the way, when i turn my wireless to on (it's a touch key not a switch) only my bluetooth indicator is enabled not my wifi indicator.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIn my top right corner I got all my Ubuntu appindicators that come with Ubuntu 11.04. I also have Dropbox, caffeine and screenlets. Problem is that I cant click on dropbox, caffeine, battery indicator, wlan or sound indicator until I first click on messages menu and slide over to appindicator that I need. When screenlets appindicator is not present there is no problem. Its the same when I had Jupiter installed.

Just moved to Ubuntu 11.04 with unity and only have one problem...For most of my desktop needs I prefer to have the Unity Launcher up all the time (fullscreen apps don't cover it), and have set this option with ccsm.
However, when I watch mythtv, it is also under the launcher (and the top panel as well). How can I force mythtv to cover the launcher?
What I really need is a keyboard shortcut to hide the launcher, but the only shortcut is for "show launcher". (I guess the devs assumed everyone would want it hidden by default).
This, by the way is not my usual way for viewing mythtv. I have a projector attached to the desktop PC and it doesn't get a Unity Launcher by default (in Twinview), so no probs. However, occasionally I want to watch something on my computer screen, and that is when this issue arises.

a)When pidgin notifies you that you have a new message can you "save" that notification?
b)When transmission informs you that a torrent finished downloading can you log that notification?
Or if you can't log them can you make a script that "catches" those notifications? What I want to do is that when a certain notification pops it triggers an app or a script. So if I can log the notifications I can "watch" for changes in the log file and trigger something; or if can "catch" the notification I could also do that. I think it can, somehow, be done with d-bus but I can't find my way around the documentation.

I've noticed when someone calls attention to my name in xchat or if I get an instant message, I don't get a notification about it unless I happen to go into the dash. Then I see someone highlighted my name or instant messaged me. Is anybody else having this?
