Mar 7, 2011i have a minor problem with the wacom tablet CTH-461. the gestures and mouse sensitivity with the finger touch is too sensitive... i mean that the mouse is moving really fast and you have to be very careful when you are pinching / zooming with your fingers... and second question. where i have to submit this "bug" bcs the 11.04 is still alpha and i want the tablet to be in final release as much as possible supported.

Apr 11, 2011I just put a fresh install of Ubuntu 10.10 on my HP Pavilion dv9000, and everything seems to be running well except for my touchpad! When I boot up into Ubuntu, the mouse works at the log in screen, but the second I sign in, it stops.
A USB powered mouse works, but not the touchpad. I even booted up from a live USB to make sure that it's not a hardware problem, and it worked there. Is there any way I can fix this easily? I don't want to have to do a fresh install, because I put all of my files back on it again as well as installed a bunch of applications and programs.

Sep 15, 2010I m on ubuntu 10.04 and have a Trust tb 4200 tablet.. and having problems with my trust tablet runing on ubuntu.. i pluged in the tablet and to my amaze it started working right away until i pressed the pen on the tablet.. i cant seem to move the mouse curser anymore unless i touch the pen on the tablet. (wich acts as a click) so i thought that i may be missing the drivers.. i checked thes forum and there was a post to install the aptek drivers which i did (but still worked the same) and i found out thet there was no 10-aiptek.fdi (in "/etc/hal/fdi/policy/") so i created one and copied one from a post.. in [url]...3&postcount=50 but still cant move the courser without touching.. its like if it did no diference at all.. i also changed the values in the 10-aiptek.fdi with no changes.. the size of the tablet is just the size of the screen so i am using the full tablet.. and no buttons work...
I think the drivers are not workin.. in the synaptic it shows as intalled...

Apr 14, 2010I just acquired a shiny new 64Gb iPod Touch and for the life of me I can't get it working in either Amarok or Banshee at all and it doesn't automatically mount as it is supposed to on 10.04 Beta 1 or 2
lsusb shows it's there and after following this thread I could get it mounted and see the directory structure.

But it doesn't show up in Banshee or Amarok at all.
Is it just because it's new and might have a quirk? Or could it be something simple I have missed? I'm not a total noob but still learning

Oct 17, 2010I am very very new to linux and this is my first experience in linux..I preferred to start with UBUNTU 10.10...I downloaded the last release of 10.10 netbook and desktop edition. I have a TABLET WIN7 PC, it does not have any Keyboard and it supports multi-touch, and works properly on Win7.
My Tablet name is THD PX1 with 1.66 Intell atom processor, 1 GB Ram, 256MB Intell 3d Accelerated VGA, 160 GB H.D.D and 3*USB2 and ... ( And at the back of my Netbook wrote that it supports LINUX and Win both) After I started the netbootin and provided live USB Netbook UBUNTU edition, I used it on my tablet and started it.
When I logged in, I faced with a STRANGE, REALLY STRANGE EVENT...THE TOUCH DOES NOT WORK CORRECTLY, You have to put 2 fingers on it to work as a touch screen tablet,else it does not work as a touchable tablet... And it is not multi touch... YOU HAVE TO PUT 2 Fingers ON IT....! I attached a Wireless USB + Mouse to it and try to install UBUNTU on it, maybe it works, ( I HOPE), but steel it is downloading the updates in installing process..
General :: Why Can't Get Usb Touch Screen On A EEE PC 900 To Work
Mar 1, 2010I have checked and as of right now can not find any topic on my problem. I purchased and installed a usb touch screen for my EEE PC 900 4GB hard drive. My problem is that my computer will not recognize the screen. When I go into the Systems Test, The USB touch is recognized, but that is it. Do I have to download drivers? (Even for a usb?) I went into the bios, and enabled the web-cam, which I have used for power. (I think) If any one can offer me some advice, I will be forever grateful. I would love to have this up and running for my husbands birthday, which is in 2 weeks. Could the problem be with the size of the hard drive? I am 98% sure I have it installed correctly. I have followed the instructions that were supplied.

Oct 15, 2010I recently upgraded to kubuntu 10.10 and now I can't play songs and sync my ipod outside of gnome. Before the upgrade I was able to access the ipod using rhythm box, it wouldn't be detected at first but if I would click music and then import folder and then click ipod touch under places rhythm box would recognise it and it would be mounted at /home/linux/.gvfs/iPod touch. But now unlike before on kubuntu 10.04, when I plug in my ipod it is actually recognised by the device notifier, but it only recognises it as a camera it has no access to the rest of the file system where the music is located, and their is no eject button in the device notifier to unmount. And because of this I can't mount gvfs unless I unplug the ipod, logout, and log back in into gnome. I tried mounting with ifuse before on 10.04 but it didn't work right, now when i try it in kde I get a whole new error message.

No device found, is it connected? If it is make sure that your user has permissions to access the raw usb device. If you're still having issues try unplugging the device and reconnecting it.

I didn't think that command would work but I tried it because I have no idea where the hell the ipod is mounted or if it's even mounted at all. Is their any way to keep kde from detecting my ipod touch? Or anything I can do in the terminal so I can use my ipod with gtkpod or rhythmbox while in kde.

Running ITunes under Vbox sees the IPOD but I can't do anything, it will not copy music over, matter of fact I can't build any libraries in ITunes. I've installed "iFuse" on both my Fedora and Ubuntu systems, no go with that direction. Under Ubuntu it is seen but I can't do anything with it.

However I know for sure that there are definitely songs in my iPod since I'm able to browse and play songs directly from my iPod. Is there any way to resolve this? I have also tried opening it in banshee but with the same result.I tried to drag and drop songs present in my library of rhythmbox to my iPod and this does not do any thing. Previously in LM 8 or 9, when I do drag and drop I will be able to see my new songs in my iPod.

It works great, but...My capacitive touch screen positioning cursor correctly but when I touch screen, it is like I clicking mouse for 9 times. Aug 2, 2010I'm hardly keen on using (strictly, only or just) -t, --date=, -m -t, -c -m or -a -t, for all of which I'm clued in to their respective working date syntaxes, but if I must, I will. Frankly -d still boggles. I'd like to think there IS a correct format or formats, else why would they carry it forward in a coreutil command from (whenever it was first written) to the latest updates for the several distros?
Or is it so obvious I can't see the forest for the smell of the trees?

So, I grabbed the little mouse I use for my laptop for him to use.Problem is, the small USB mouse does not work in his account. It can move the pointer, but clicking has unpredictable results.The small USB mouse works fine in my account. My regular mouse worked fine in his account, just like it works for everyone else.His user account clearly does not have some privilege that is needed for the small mouse to work, but is not needed for the other mouse.

Mar 15, 2011I have recently upgraded to and then reinstalled Maverick (retaining the home directory). After the reinstall the mouse stopped working. It's not a hardware issue as the mouse works fine during the live CD installation. I have tried both a serial and a USB mouse. I have tried reinstalling a couple of times too.
I think I've had this issue before in a previous version but can't remember how I solved it.
I have been using Ubuntu for about 2 years now, and am by no means an expert. As a result I'm sure you will need more information but am unsure of what information that is or how to get it.

After booting up, the mouse does not work at all. While the computer is on, I can unplug the new mouse and plug in the old one, and the old one will work. Jan 30, 2010My hardware is a Gateway LT2104u netbook.Bought it today, took it out the box and installed the netbook version of Ubuntu.Now here is the problem.The touchpad works fine. I am able to move the mouse all over the screen, the keyboard works find too. The problem is with the mouse click. The clicks are recognized when I am in the 'overview screen'. For example I can click on firefox and it opens. However once firefox is open it does not respond to any clicks. Even clicks to close firefox.
I push Alt+f4 to close the program and then I can click into any other (or the original) programs, but once inside the problem replicates.The problem was present in the 'live cd' during install as well.Does anybody know what might cause this? The whole netbook is useless at this point since I need to click to pretty much do anything in most applications (the Terminal program is one of the few exceptions )

Sep 2, 2010without any warning, mouse clicks stopped having any effect. I can move the cursor without a problem. No apps are frozen and I can type at the command line. But mouse clicks have no effect. The same mouse was working fine before and it works fine in Windows. When I look in /var/log/messages, I see:ondemand governor failed, too long transition latency of HWfallback to performance governor [OK]I don't know if this is significant or not. Oct 13, 2010I'm having mouse issues with 10.10.
Equipment: Asus Eee 900, Celeron @ 900 MHz w/ 2 gig memory
Mouse: Rocketfish (but issue replicable with mousepad)
When starting a program, the mouse may randomly not work within that program but does work outside of it, or vice-versa. For instance, when starting the text editor, the OS may not recognize mouse clicks inside the program (within the text editing portion, within the text editors menu bar etc.), but it does recognize mouse clicks outside the program (like clicking on the battery icon for battery status). This could also be reversed, where the OS only recognizes mouse clicks within the program but none externally (including the top status bar where the menu options, battery status, and clock are).
IF the mouse is not working inside the program and I click somewhere externally (like the battery status), this seems to temporarily fix the problem and allow clicking inside the program. However, this seems to switch the problem to where I can no longer click externally. This seems to be the only method of switching which area is selectable by mouse, as I have not found a reverse process. This forces me to close the program using Ctrl + Q instead of being able to click out, because the close button is in the top status bar. This seems to happen pretty much universally. If the program is closed, then I can again click any thing on the main screen, including the top status bar.
I am currently running the netbook without the power supply plugged in. I will repost later when the power supply is connected to see if it makes a difference. At first I thought the netbook was locked up, but the mouse still moves and if the cursor is active in a text editing area it still responds to keystrokes. It's not a disasterous bug, but it's annoying.

Oct 16, 2010While Login into ubuntu, open firefox for sometime, my left mouse button usually cannot work, while right button is OK and keyboard is also OK. Mouse pointer can be moved,however left click shows no reaction(when i move the mouse pointer to some certain icon, the icon can be highlighted just as usual but left click still shows no reaction).
I doubted this may be firefox's problem, but when I kill firefox-bin and firefox process through the terminal(keyboard is ok and i can use ALT+F2 to enter gnome-terminal), Left mouse button still cannot work. And then I have to Ctrl+Alt+Delete and reboot the system. My ubuntu is 10.10, updated several days ago(this problem has been existed before the update)
