I recently viewed some photos on Flickr in full screen and since then have lost the top bar of Firefox, I have tried some of the ideas listed in a previous post but to no avail I have no .monzilla folder in my home folder is this the problem ? previous post here [URL].. .

After a little search i found that in terminal if i type metacity --replace it would come back.And that it did.However, everytime i reboot i need to do it again.Starting to get a little annoying now.

I have tried:Window List/Picker/Selector but none of them look the same as what was there by default.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm posting this for a new member who needs help, his registration hasn't gone through yet. His computer (10.04) a fresh install not 3 weeks old, has now had all his windows loose their outer borders and the 3 close, minimize, and maximize buttons. Clicking on one underneath another does not allow any other ones to focus- only the top window, Firefox, remains in focus. None of the windows are movable. I've used force quit to close windows. New windows open the same way- with no outer border, now locked to the upper left corner, and still unmovable.
Things that were open and close with force quit are still in the panel bars, and the panel bars are showing up like they are focused on. I've never seen this problem before in 10.04 or even 8.04. Has anyone else run into this, know how to fix it?
Just recently,on occassion when I log in to my main user, I don't get the Title Bars, or windows minimize, maximize, close buttons.
I have tried changing theme
I have noticed that running the "compiz" command from the main manu will restore the title bars etc, and that my second user (created yesterday) does not have that problem.
How can I diagnose what is going wrong ?

View 9 Replies View Relatedthe size of the min,max, close buttons in the corner of firefox. They are very small and I can't find a way to increase them. I've tried different themes but that doesn't work.
The other thing I would like to increase is the size of the tabs. I DON'T WANT TO MAKE THEM LONGER, I WANT TO MAKE THEM TALLER so they are easier to hit when laptop is hooked to TV. Right now they are very short and I use the mouse on the arm of my chair (cloth) and it's a little difficult to hit them.
I've searched and read tips for the past week and none have what I need. They all tell me how to make the tabs longer or shorter and how to add or remove close boxes in the individual tabs. These don't do what I need done. Can these simple things be done in firefox or am I SOL?
I have two kinda weird problems that have been preventing me from wasting my time!
1. I can go to a flickr page and see the first picture fine. When I use the browse buttons and/or try and change to another picture, firefox crashes.
2. When viewing pictures in facebook (the only reason I use it is to share pictures with my far-off family who doesn't get to see my kids often) the pictures are very badly pixelated.
I'm using an Acer Aspire laptop (Intel 915 graphics, celeron processor, 1.5GB ram) with a completely up to date Fedora 12 installation. The weird part is, my wife's netbook, (1GB ram, Intel 945 graphics) with Fedora 12, displays everything fine. I'm cometely stumped how one machine is having such issues while another isn't. This problem existed in F10 when I used up until the F12 release so I'm presuming it is a graphics card problem (???) since the software and OS has changed.Does anyone know what might be going on or how I can check?
The removal of the Firefox-Shiretoko Browser from the Main US Repository really wrecked me... I have no back buttons, no URL display, and all my bookmarks now have to be moved... (if I can figure out how to move them...) ooo, i miss my black-skin in Facebook...
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been using UNR since the 9.04 release on my Eee 1000HE and have been generally happy with it as a solution since then. Tonight I've upgraded to 10.04 using the package manager and everything starts correctly but when I start any application it minimises itself straight away making the system unusable. If I click on the application to bring it to focus, I get about 1/2 a second of typing before it minimises itself again. Using that method I've been able to get around the problem with a sudo apt-get remove netbook-launcher - but I like the netbook launcher and I'd like to keep using it.

I have tried looking for options in the Appearance and Windows options in Menu-system-preferences but cant find anything, that could be used to enable or disable this feature. Secondly, since upgrading to the current version of Ubuntu I have been missing the volume control button usually located by the date/wireless/ Power off button/ icons on the panel located top right of screen.
Recently, I suddenly lost all sound coming in from firefox. Other sound works fine (e.g. Amarok), but I can't get any sound from type of source on the internet. There's also no sound coming from Opera.
Am running 10.04 from upgrade.
I was running OpenSuse and realized that I hated it. I backed up my bookmarks to a USB flash drive, formatted and installed Ubuntu 10.04.
On entering Ubuntu, I stuck the USB flash drive in and realized that the bookmarks never got copied. I've lost them. I have to have those bookmarks. What would be the best way to get them back?
I had MineField on (FF4 Pre-Release) and went for a long time with it bookmarking and everything... Today I thought I'd upgrade to FF4... and assumed that the bookmarks would be kept...
And they weren't... boo...
So is there a special file or anything where the minefield bookmarks are kept?
I install Firefox 3.6 from the mozilla/openSUSE_11.2 repo, but F6 didn't work; so, I tried uninstalling it and installing Firefox proper. Of course, none of the KDE integration worked with that; so, I am back at the normal repo's Firefox but no KDE integration (same with Thunderbird). I do have MozillaFirefox-branding-openSUSE, MozillaFirefox-theme-oxygen, and mozilla-xulrunner191-kde4 installed.

sound works great everywhere else, including mp3's on web through firefox. i searched the forum, of course, but didn't find anything that seemed relevant or up-to-date.
i have lost internet on acer aspire one when i tried to add firefox 3.6 and cannot solve the problem.....i have tried several times and nothing works, it tells me it either failed or is unknown..... i can't even get back to firefox 2....everything was ok until i added adobe flashplayer and when i rebooted to make it work there was no internet at all and it's my sisters netbook not mine.

Yesterday in the middle of web surfing, suddently firefox cannot see any website outside of my home network (Firefox displays Server not found page). No help when I rebooted a few times and connect to my home network via wireless or even wire cable; it can access files in my network file server (DNS-321) but not the internet. My desktop computer running Windows Vista and ASUS media player has no problem accessing the internet.

I've gotten around it by typing "sudo ubuntu-tweak" in Terminal, but I was wondering if there is something I can do to get it to work without that step. Also, Software Center won't let me install anything. Whenever I click on Install, nothing happens. If I type "sudo software-center" and then click the install button, it begins to install, but I get an error, and it discontinues. Does anyone know what I should do?
