View 2 RepliesI accidentally installed a partial upgrade, and Empathy was removed from the indicator applet (next to Evolution Mail under the envelope icon). How can I restore it? PS: When this happened, I had no idea that partial upgrades could cause problems in our PCs, such as removing packages..
View 6 Replies View RelatedFor some reason the shutdown/hibernate/logout options has disappeared from the Indicator session. I can still set my status in EmpathyI have tried reverting to gnome panel defaults (gconftool --recursive-unset /apps/panel && killall gnome-panel), removing and readding and I've checked synaptics and it seems I have everything indicator-related installed.
View 2 Replies View Relatedi've just installed openSUSE 11.3 on my dell studio xps 1640. but i have problem with my WLAN . it's a WLAN 1640 mini-card and i think there is no problem with driver. because it seems that it's installed correctly but i can't see any wireless networks (it says "Device is not ready"). is there any suggestions?by the way, when i turn my wireless to on (it's a touch key not a switch) only my bluetooth indicator is enabled not my wifi indicator.
View 6 Replies View RelatedIn my top right corner I got all my Ubuntu appindicators that come with Ubuntu 11.04. I also have Dropbox, caffeine and screenlets. Problem is that I cant click on dropbox, caffeine, battery indicator, wlan or sound indicator until I first click on messages menu and slide over to appindicator that I need. When screenlets appindicator is not present there is no problem. Its the same when I had Jupiter installed.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm having an unexpected problem with my Gnome Panel in Ubuntu Lucid. The thing is that after I logged in, my Language Indicator Applet and the Network Connections Indicator Applet were missing in my PANEL.I've tried the typical installation method by pressing "Add to panel", but I cannot find any of these options in the list of applets.

I really like the unity interface of the 11.04 betta but I want to have these applet in my panel is there a way to have it? since there is no option which says add to panel in 11.04.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI accidentally removed the keyboard indicator from a panel. How do I get it back? Right-clicking on the panel, then choosing "Add to panel" brings up a list of applets that can be added to the panel. The keyboard indicator is not among them. I have two keyboard layouts added in the Keyboard Preferences and need to frequently switch between them. I am using Ubuntu 10.4.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have bought a Logik MP4 touch screen player. Upon inserting the USB cable in the MP4 player, the screen lights up, and the usb icon is displayed, then after a few seconds the usb indicator goes away and the charge icon is displayed. No where does ubuntu mount the file system.
While the USB icon is displayed, the output of "lsusb" is:
Code:
Bus 005 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 001 Device 007: ID 1e74:4631 Coby Electronics Corporation
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
After the charging indicator appears, lsusb hangs.. No output appears in the terminal. Disk Utility also doesn't show any removable drives attached to my computer. There is music on the player, I was forced to connect the player to a windows machine to copy music on it. It first detected is as a "Logik Device" and then AFTER those drivers were installed it detected it as "A Removable storage device".... I wonder if this is a modeswitch issue? Such as are being experienced by 3G modem users? How can this be fixed so I can transfer music to and from the player under ubuntu?
I have tried it on:
Ubuntu 10.04 32bit
Ubuntu studio 10.04 64bit
Ubuntu 11.04 64bit
All give the exact same outcome as above (including the hang on the second lsusb command). I left the lsusb command in the background and after about 13minutes it gave me an output of:
Code:
Bus 005 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
My notebook has no indicators for HDD activity. I want to convert the Scroll Lock LED on my external USB keyboard to an indicator for HDD activity. I know a bunch of such programs for Windows but found nothing for Ubuntu. Is there a way to do this?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have installed ubuntu 10.04 yesterday. I also placed the indicator-applet to my top panel.
My question is: It is lacking the textbox. I see every detail that should be there in the menu, except for the input-textbox. Can anyone tell me how I can get this back?
I've been searching the forums, but could not find a solution (nor anyone else having this problem, though I remembered someone else stating the same issue before I experienced it, but I couldn't find it back... must be murphy's law )
all my machines (save 1) say "Chat" for the Empathy launcher in the indicator applet on the upper tool bar.
I have one that says "Set Up Chat..." Well, chat IS setup but the text in the indicator doesn't say "Chat".
How can I change that?
the indicator applet on Lucid has a clock, so that I now have two in my panel: the clock applet and the one in the indicator applet. I prefer the clock applet and would like to get rid of the clock in the indicator applet.
It should be possible, since the clock only shows up on my desktop PC, not my laptop.
Currently there is a fat, wide keyboard indicator at the bottom of my Ubuntu screen (see attached snapshot) and a second locale indicator.
How can I shrink them?
Or even better: How can I hide them completely?
I really dislike the ubuntu patches in lucid on the system tray, does anyone know if a ppa exists which has the upstream default or how I could unpatch the ubuntu package to upstream default?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI changed the language on my 10.04 install to Canadian English, but now I have this icon in the Gnome panel that allows me to switch from USA to Can. I live in "Can" so have no need to see it displayed and have no interest in using American English so I have no desire to see that displayed. How can I have the system speak Canadian English and only that with no button on the panel letting me know what language I'm using?
Here is an image displaying what I mean:

I want rid of that and I want to remain using Canadian English.
I was messing around with setting up my ubuntu for the first time on my MBP, some how I manged to lose the networking indicator that shows the networking status in the upper panel. along with the growl like popup that show that I'm connected to a network....How do I get it back?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSometime yesterday, I noticed that I couldn't turn off the computer using the indicator in the top right corner because of a glitch in how the clock is displayed. As you can see in the screenshot below, the indicator applet is hidden and I had no idea how to "refresh" the panel so that the indicator applet would show again. Although this doesn't happen often, I encounter this problem from time to time.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn the past one bug appereared to me several times (using 10.04 and 10.10, too) but I still cannot reproduce it in order to file it. After logging into Ubuntu or just while usnig Ubuntu a small gap appears at the indicator sector of the gnome panel. Did anyone else see this happening and can reproduce it? It's not a big thing but still it influences a smooth user expeience, in my opinion.
View 1 Replies View RelatedEver since I upgraded to 10.10 my Indicator Applet will no longer notify me of new mail. I'm not sure if this is an issue caused by the update of Ubuntu or Evolution.
I've tried removing and adding it again, but no luck. Anyone else having this problem or have a fix?
