Ubuntu :: Burn An ISO To A Blank DVD With Brasero Disc Burner?
Jul 10, 2011
I have been trying to burn an ISO to a blank DVD with Brasero Disc Burner, but every time I try, it gets at around 93% done, then gives me:
"The disc could not be ejected, though it needs to be removed for the current operation to continue"
I have attached a screenshot of the error. And this is not my error screenshot, I have a different DVD Drive. I just attached this one because I didn't want to wait for it to give me an error again so I could take my own screenshot.
Does anybody know why this happens? Or a way to fix it? Or a different software to burn ISO to DVD that is as simple as this one.
I'm using Ubuntu 9.10 and Brasero Disc Burner to burn .iso's (NON-ILLEGALLY. I'm burning linux distros on them.) . I'm using Sony DVD-R's that on the disk say 4.7 GB, but it says 3.7 on Brasero.
It seems I can't burn any kind of disc (cd/dvd, audio/video/data) usgin my internal sata burner (sr0). I treied googling around and reinstalling everything from dvd+rw-tools up but the error is still there. the burner works fine with windows on the very same pc (dual boot). I tried different media and different speeds. when using an usb burner everything's fine...
I've been trying to burn a windows 7 iso to a blank disc in ubuntu.
I've tried right click-write to disk, it writes it but the disc won't boot and when I look inside the disc there's no files present.
I tried doing it with cd creator and it gives me some messages like.
"Do you want to create a disc from the contents of the image or with the image file inside?"
"There is only one selected file
("xxxxxx.iso") It is the image of a disc and its contents can be burnt."
I click "burn as file"
Then I get a message saying "Do you really want to add "xxxxxx.iso to the selection and use the version of ISO9660 standard to support it"?
"the size of the file is over 2gb. Files larger than 2gb are not supported by iso9660 standard in its first and second versions. it is recommended to use the third version of iso9660 standard which is supported by most operating systems including linux and all versions of windows."
I click add file.
Then it starts "estimating the file size" It says please wait untill this operation is completed, but it never does, I left it for 2 hours.
I also tried burning with infra record in windows and get some error messages, and I also tried brasero in ubuntu with no success.
OpenSUSE 11.3, Brasero 2.30.1 Brasero can't detect dvd-burner. Dialogs, that should allow burner-device selection is grayed out and contain only one option "No disc available". The device itself is known to be working. How to fix this?
my DVD Burner is a MATSHITA BD-CMB UJ-120 i'm running DEBIAN SQUEEZE.In the past using Kubuntu (until 9.10) it burned DVD without problems other info are in the k3b debug output..I'm using VERBATIM DVD+R i don't know what to do.
I tried six different M3 files using Bresaro Burn to burn to a CD (audio cd) however, one of these files are able to burn to a disc with Bresaro application. I burned the same files using Windows Media Player on my xp desktop.
Finally got around to buying a DVD player so i put 3 old Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns on one dvd and it plays fine on the computer. However , when played on the tv-dvd player only one movie ( the last one on the dvd ) would play . I did not use a 3rd party converter app as the dvd player advertised that it would play standard avi movies. I burned with Brassero and noted that half the dvd was still blank if that's relative .
running lucid and whatever updates are current.Im attempting to burn a avi to dvd format with brasero, but when i hit "burn" brasero sais "ejecting disc" and says that an internal error has occurred. the saved log is blank.any thoughts? i have dvd author and the error message doesnt appear until the disc has ejected. but really it should not be ejecting if it is going to perform a burn.
I need to burn tracks that total to 80-82 minutes on 80min CDs. However, Brasero stops the burning process right at the start complaining there is not enough space on the CD. I tried having Brasero create an image and burn it with k3b. However, Brasero creates a .cue and a .bin file, but when loading the .cue file, k3b says that it does not seem to be a valid image, even when selecting ".cue/.bin image" or "audio cue file" as the image type. k3b itself refuses to burn .mp3 files without manual conversion. what should I do to achieve my goal?
I see there are a lot of other threads on this subject, but I don't find any solution in the other threads. I have been trying to burn cd's directly in Ubuntu, using Brasero, which was already installed. Why does it not work? It says that an "unknown error occurred" or something like that. I don't remember the exact error message right now. I am now burning cd's in "Gnomebaker" which I found in the applications list. This works fine, but only at the speed of 4x, no faster. I hope to get the brasero application to work, as this is the easiest, fastest way, just dragging files to the cd.
Both my cd/dvd drives work fine out of xp so they're connected properly.
I tried to use Brasero to burn an iso to a cd; Brasero responds with the message "Please replace the disc with a supported CD or DVD." But my Sony and Maxell discs should be supported, so what could be causing this message?
Is the bash command cdrecord an alternative to Bresaro? If so then what is the command syntax to burn file.iso to a cd in a cd/dvd drive?
I sometimes get downloads, usually of linux OS's where the file is too large for a cd and has to be formated as a dvd. When I try to burn it to a disk, I keep getting something that says I need to insert a blank dvd.
Problem is, I have a blank dvd in the tray all ready to go. The unit I'm using is a Sony external dvd burner hooked up by a usb. Bresero wouldn't touch it, so I installed k3b (this is in Ubuntu10.04) k3b could read that I had a blank dvd in the drive, but when I pointed to what file I intended to burn, I kept getting the "insert blank dvd", and it wouldn't start, even though the screen in the background could see that the dvd was loaded and ready. No problem for cd's, they'll burn like an oil slick on the Gulf of Mexico.
I created a system backup ISO with remastersys that's about 3.4 GB, and I've repeatedly had failure and about 4 coasters now with both K3b and Brasero trying to burn it. I even ditched the original ISO and made another- same problem.I have always had problems burning discs in both programs, and of all the times I've tried to burn anything with either, I've gotten errors near the end of the data check stage, in verifying the data burned. I'm really tired of this, and I need this ISO perfect to reinstall my OS on a new laptop harddrive. This time it's K3b. It burned successfully, but I get errors in the data verification stage. Here's what I got:
I used to burn CDs/DVDs with Brasero on my old Dell PC running various Ubuntu distros, till it started producing faulty discs. There were other problems with the old machine, so I started burning discs on my Toshiba laptop (Ubuntu 10.04) using Brasero - no problems at all. Now I've got a new Dell (Ubuntu 11.04) and, strangely, when I tried to burn some CDs with Brasero, it took 5 attempts to get 2 good discs - not a good success rate. Tried again with Open CD/DVD Creator on the Dell - no problem. 100% success. So is it Brasero? Is it Dell? Is it newer Ubuntus? The discs haven't changed, they're Verbatim.
I am burning an ISO of Ubuntu 9.10 amd 64 desktop edition. I am using the same operating system but need to burn the ISO to do a clean install.
My Specs: Ubuntu 9.10 (karmic) AMD Turion(tm) II Ultra Dual-Core Mobile L2 Cache 1024 4 GIG Ram Cd-drive: Hp DVDRAM GT20L

I created a few 'images' with Brasero a few days ago to burn at a future point in time, today. The first thing I noticed while copying the 'images' is that there were two files, one sans extension and one .toc, not the single .iso I'm used to dealing with.Unfortunately I did not have internet access while copying so I was unable to obtain clarification or how to proceed. So now I have around 50 of these pairs I would like nvert to music CDs.After much Googling I have yet to obtain any relevant info on how to proceed.
My son is using 9.10 as his only OS on a Advent 5431 laptop, with a Intel Pentium Dual Core Processor T3200, 1024MB of RAM, 160 GB HD and a Integrated Graphics Card. The problem is this,e was trying to burn/rip DVD's using Brasero the laptop kept shutting down for no reason that he could see, now when trying to do anything again it keeps shutting down when using Oos or just browsing/facebook/myspace/MSN. Has anyone any ideas why this could be happening?
I am having problems burning audio CDs with Brasero 2.30.0 after my upgrade to 10.04. I was trying to burn a .wav file to CD but Brasero ejects the media without burning anything after transcoding the wav file and creating an image. I'm attaching the error log to aid in debugging.I can burn data CDs fine. My burner, a Samsung SM-308B, can't burn DVDs so I don't know about burning them.
I'm using Brasero to burn DVDs and I'm burning at 4x speed (the DVDs and the DVD burner both support 16x max). The problem is that while burning, the speed is too low and it jumps around between 1.5x and 2.4x. This seems weird to me.shouldn't the burn process fail if it drops below 4x or if the speed is as unsteady as it is? But the DVDs seem to turn out fine anyway.
This happens every time I try to burn an audio CD burning data CD seems to work fine.I open Brasero, click Audio project, drag a couple of FLAC files into it and try to burn, or in this particular case, create an image.A dialogue pops up where I am supposed to tell it where to put the image. I click Desktop but I don't change the file name (something like brasero.cue or whatever). Then it starts doing things but after a short while I get an error message and I am asked to save the log file, which I did and here it is:
Code: Checking session consistency (brasero_burn_check_session_consistency brasero-burn.c:1741) BraseroNormalize called brasero_job_get_action
im trying to burn an audio cd with brasero, when i select the audio files to add to the project i get an error message saying :"Track 1.wav" could not be opened." and :"Track 1.wav" is not suitable for audio or video media."i also tried the "copy cd" option, the program recognizes the audio cd in my drive but when i press the copy button the window disappears and nothing happen.i had a similar problem lately see thread - cant burn dvd,but this time i want to try and use brasero instead of k3b
I've just installed Xubuntu last night on a spare drive because I really wanted to try it out. Install and initial setup (upgrades, extras and so on) worked like a charm, then I got to burn an audio cd with Brasero starting from some mp3s floating around my external media drive. The burn process itself went good and the CD is fully readable, but I notice that CD-text is missing.
So, when I added files to the main window of Brasero id3 tags were there (I've seen them, plus I set each and every of them via Easytag before putting the files in my external media drive so I'm sure of that), but once the CD was finished there was no CD-text at all. Maybe I just have to download some additional packages which aren't included in Brasero or have missed some menu item about CD-text?
