Ubuntu :: Can't Upload Pictures To Ebay

Aug 11, 2010

i can't even get that far on the ebay website. i've been using ubuntu on this computer for years, it all seems to be set up correctly, i have flash installed and can view videos, i have java installed and can view applets.go to url... and click the link on the top right that says sell. log in if you have to, enter a keyword, choose your category to sell in and go to the next page. on this page there's a picture section and the header says, "bring your item to life with pictures." next to it there's a link which allows you to show/hide options for where the picture comes from so you can upload one, link to a website, plus other options. i click the link to show the option for uploading a picture and it just brings me to the top of the page. each time i click that link it just brings me to the top of the page.

i thought maybe it was trying to open a popup window that got blocked but there's no notification in the url like there usually is, it just moves me to the top of the page and that's it.

Ubuntu :: Can't Upload Photos To Facebook?

Oct 29, 2010

Does anybody have an idea why I can't upload photos to Facebook?Always when I try to do it, both in Firefox and in Opera the message "The connection has been reset" appears... What could be the reason? Could it also be a problem with my router or provider? Because I presume the problem exists, since I have moved flat.

Ubuntu :: Best Browser To Use With Ebay

Jul 25, 2010

I have gotten onto ebay and they never know anything as they are MS lovers. They can't answer as to why Firefox in a linux enviro won't work properly. What happens is i go to set several things like a postal charge or weight of the parcel and then i save the listing but it doesn't save. So many things just don't save when i edit the listing a dozen times it still won't. I downloaded Opera last week and tried that out but that seems to also have problems. It won't let me use the 'return' function on the keyboard when i writing a description in ebay and i suspect it is not saving other things too. As Opera and Firefox are probably the other browsers i have used so far in my 3 years experience with linux i am not sure what to try next. I don't sell that much on ebay so i thought there might be some other ebay sellers on here that can tell me what browser works for them?

Ubuntu Servers :: 10.04 No Upload Folder In /tmp With Php Upload Script?

Jun 13, 2010

have setup a LAMP server with ubuntu 10.04 server edition x86 for my study in VMware Workstation 7.1 For a assignment I had to make a php script that would load a file up to the server and set the name in a mysql database. According to the book the server should set the image in a cryptic folder in the /tmp/ folder.

This isn't working and i also try'd locate and find to find the image i uploaded. I checked the php.ini and file uploads were on but no folder so i set that one to /tmp/ but still no images. Can anyone help me with enabling this function?

Ubuntu :: Selling On Ebay Using Konqueror?

Apr 12, 2010

I am trying to stick to using only one browser (Konqueror) instead of having to switch to firefox for listing items on ebay. The problem I am having is that Konqeror does not display the wysiwyg editor for listing my item. I usually just copy and paste my template in, but the html tab is not showing up either. If I start my listing in firefox and then open it up in konqueror it displays the wysiwyg just fine, so I am not sure why it couldn't just work from the get go. I have tried changing browser identification but had no success.

Ubuntu :: Renaming Photos In KDE4?

Sep 14, 2010

I'm trying to batch rename 3,300 photos, and can't figure it out.

I've tried digiKam and KRename, however I can't figure out how to simply rename the files as such:

~/Pictures/[year]/[month]/[datetime].JPG

where the year, month, and datetime are when the picture was taken, via EXIF data. In digiKam, I can't figure out how to rename the files to move to a different dirrectory than their current one, and with KRename, I can't figure out how to only use the year for the directory instead of the entire datetime.

It actually works if I ignore these stripes but I wonder if it could be fixed...? I have several dozen photos from my camera that I would like to rename in batches such as tulips01.jpg, tulips02.jpg, etc. In Windows I could highlight them and right-click to "rename" to do the lot. I understand that "renaming" is now changing a "property" but I cannot find the simple way to do an entire lot at a time.

Ubuntu Multimedia :: Access The Photos That Are On The Device, But Nothing Else?

Oct 17, 2010

I just recently purchased an iPod touch 4G running iOS 4.1 under the assumption that it would play nice with Ubuntu as stated here:..Devices/iPhone. It doesn't! I can't seem to get it to work. It shows up as a camera with 86MB of available space. I can access the photos that are on the device, but nothing else. I really would like to be able to transfer music to the device, but nothing seems to work. Rhythmbox doesn't even seem to recognize that it's there, the device isn't showing up in /media, and I can't seem to get a mount point. Has anybody out there had any success in this area? Ubuntu Multimedia :: E-mail Photos From Digikam

Apr 15, 2011

Best way to handle my photo collection, and though I love Picasa a great deal, I got tired of having to go through all 15,000 of my photos and retag them whenever I restored my computer from backups (which happened twice in the past year). I am now using Digikam, which I prefer because it saves tags and all that kind of info to the image file metadata. I would like to stick with Digikam exclusively but for one thing: the plugin that should allow me to e-mail photos is not working.

When I go to Image => Email Image and select "Gmail Agent", the result is "Failed to start "gmailagent" program. Check your system." Not sure what to check or where. I have also tried to use the Evolution option to mail photos, but I have never been able to figure out how to use an e-mail client; I have always used webmail. Perhaps it's not even possible to use Evolution to manage Gmail? Dunno. Not my primary concern.

I would gladly ask Digikam support about this, but after creating a new Bugzilla account for the purpose, it continues to tell me my login name is invalid. Maybe later. I am running Lucid with Ubuntu Studio on a dual core HP G61 laptop.
